Yep. This one is similar to Stallone's "Cobra" in that they're both over-the-top while still presentimg themselves as serious. Sort of parodies that won't admit they're parodies.

I'm one of your Patreons who voted for Commando over the other film on the poll. I saw this film in movies back in 1985 this was after The Terminator. You should also check this other Arnold movie The Running Man (1987) and his female lead is a latina. Very cool film. Enjoy your TH-cam videos always fun and entertaining

I love this movie!!! You should watch Last Action Hero. Another action movie starring Arnie but the comedy is turned up even more. I don't want to give too much away though.

I like to think of Val Verde as sort of like Columbia, but they always pronounce the "u" in names

First "action" movie I ever saw. I was 14 years old. People like to hate on Arnold but the movies are entertainment and it's all in fun. Just gotta love them for a good time and forget about life for a while. :)

Only thing used more than fake moustaches on extra's were one liners and bullets.... bucket loads of bullets. I love this film. Its silly, goofy, it doesn't take itself seriously but doesn't either break 4th wall. This is undiluted 80's action cliche's in marvelous film. This never gets old, like others have said.

As I understand it, there's a draft of this script that shows a _romantic_ dynamic between John and Cindy. Personally, I think that would've been cliche. I'm glad they didn't use it. The dynamic between them here is the same dynamic that exists between buddy cops. It's _so_ much more believable, this way.

Ok the guy Sully he dropped off the cliff is played by the same guy John Wick calls to clean up the bodies in his house. He also starred in "Warriors".
Also eating a lot of red meat is a lot of protein for your muscles.
This has got to be the funniest reaction I've ever seen on TH-cam. Thanks for the laughs!! 🤣

"We make the effort to pronounce your last names right." Our last names? Like Smith, Jones, Lee, Clark, Young, King??? Do you see how that could be easier? But a dialect coach on this movie could've been a good idea.

Two things guys as old as me remember about the 80's, but might make no sense to young reactors like you:
In the 80's there were several political conflicts in Latin America where the US sent their black ops teams to influence the results, there could be a number of countries where the loosing faction might want revenge against the US intervention.
Also, someone started a belief that hormones in red meat can make people aggressive. When the flight attendance says that they need to eat less red meat, it is not a local joke. It is a way of saying she thinks they are unnecessarily aggressive.
