Left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right Left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right I've said this under the original video, this isn't the first try to make the Orcs feel more than just fodder. That having been said, even Tolkien acknowledges some positive qualities in them - used for evil, yes, but they seem to have at least a degree of loyalty, if nothing else. Somebody brought up The Hobbit, and the curious case of Azog and Bolg, whatever happened there... All in all, The Hobbit is very dubiously canonical due to how it was mostly forced into the greater Middle-earth scene. There's a lot of things in there unmentioned or contradicted elsewhere, so it's best to just leave it as its own thing. Hope you're still doing good, them pesky copyrights, eh?
To be fair, Uruk-Hai are created adults through sorcery by Saruman. Orcs reproduce like any other race on Middle earth, they are mammals. They take care of their offspring probably like animals did, but they seem to have some relationship between parents and sons, considering that the son of Azog wanted revenge against his killer. The show take in all of this is whimsical and terrible, but it will have being an interesting take if done properly.
Yeah i had a hard time finding any confirmation on Orc reproduction except for some letters Tolkein had written. Thanks for pointing that out though, you’re right that that the show still ruined the idea of it. I think the biggest issue is still the softness and care the family seems to show when orcs are brutal in all situations
Wouldn't it be so much better if Adar, as the first orc and thus having known the world as an elf and being so old as to remember, did indeed see the orcs as his children, and refused to see them as destructive brutish machines of slaughter, only for Sauron to reestablish his dominance when he returns and making them turn against their father? I think Adar is too banging a character to be wasted in such a moronic plot, and it would cover both the moral unambiguity of the orcs' evil as well as remind us that they are still bred from elves and who knows if their is still a chance for redemption in their nature. And I think the theme of the father who is destroyed because he can't not love his offspring even when it goes against his own better judgement is always a winner, especially if they hinted that Adar believes so fervently in the orcs' humanity (elfendom?) because he clings to some hope that all he used to be isn't lost. But I understand such a subject would perhaps be beyond the screenwriters' ability to fathom.
You would make lord of the rings suck. You miss the whole point of the Orcs. Tolken was not about ambiguas he was about cold heart evil. The Orcs represent evil as a natural force, a unrelating force that if good people do nothing to stop will consum thr world. Lord of the Rings is not a moral story. Its a fight against evil. You idea destroys this fundemental of Lord of the Rings and tells me you clearly missunderstand the whole thing.
I think they should have hired you to write their script. I like your idea a lot more than what the show did. Your idea of Sauron returning and establishing his dominance is interesting and something the writers should have thought of before having them overthrow Sauron himself
@@jamesread4469 My guy, I quite understand what Tolkien was getting at with the orcs, did you not read my comment? I said "moral unambiguity", not "ambiguity". Also Tolkien long debated whether orcs were irrevocably irredeemable, or if there was a possibility of redemption for them - not in life, but in the hands of lluvatar. It's bad form to try to interpret Tolkien without taking in consideration his spirituality and theological thought. Tolkien's world doesn't end in death, and since orcs are living, breathing and speaking, their final fate is beyond Morgoth's or Sauron's will, because they were unable to create from nothing. Take a chill pill and don't be so rude. I couldn't ruin Tolkien anymore than Amazon did anyways.
@@GenerationOffended Wow, that's high praise 😄I wish one day we get the extended Tolkien in visual format we deserve. Not anytime soon by all appearances, but still.
His idea is still more compelling. I agree that Orcs should be evil but adjusting what the writers created to make it more compelling within the context of the show is reasonable.
That scene with Galadriel and Adar made him into, almost the good guy. Misunderstood; and certainly ruthless in his methods, but an individual with a deep concern for the wellbeing of his people. How could you not root for him to win? On the other side; not just in her genocidal rant with Adar, but in every episode of the first season of RoP, Galadriel was smug, condescending, self righteous and unconcerned with the wellbeing of the elves she led in her quest to find Sauron. On top of that Galadriel was stupid. Stupid but also incredibly lucky. She jumped off a boat in the middle of an ocean but found a raft with Sauron on it, because the plot needed her to both survive and run into Sauron without even trying. Thinking about Galadriel's quest to find Sauron, if what I'm hearing about the first episode of Season Two is correct; because I'm not going to waste anymore time watching this show, while Galadriel was climbing mountains and driving her fellow elves to exhaustion; and was willing to leave one of them behind in a blizzard in order continue her search, Sauron was a puddle of goo who morphed into flopping mass of Venom like muscle fibers. So Galdriel's fellow elves were right to desert her. She was wasting her and their time looking for a puddle they would have never recognized as Sauron.
Well said man jeez, that was a good tear. You’re totally right, she is the worst protagonist i have seen in a while. Terrible in every aspect. Stupid, mean, arrogant, morally corrupt and boring. She is literally the cause of every bad thing happening in the world because she not only failed to stop Sauron but she created the first rings of power
I am aware of the letters, however these are not detailed nor are they official lore. I’m not basing it off the films, i got my information from books and lore websites. From what i know about it, this is all inconsistent and was something that Tolkien never expanded on. Thanks for your feedback though, i want to know if i get something wrong
? wait you thought orcs just spawned in the air? You do know that orcs reproducing via sex was the canon thing already and the mud scene in the movies was the uncanon thing. So if you really have a problem with it go complain to Tolkien
Its never explicitly stated on how Orcs reproduce. I know Tolkein had some unpublished letters discussing the ideas of female Orcs, but i didn’t find any canon in my research confirming any of it. Of course the idea of something is far different than the execution and the display that RoP puts on is not something i enjoyed. So i may have been wrong about Orc reproduction, i think there is a reason Tolkein never put into writing
Yeah sure but I highly, highly doubt their reproduction involves a loving family unit, rofl. They'd probably just rape the women or have a breeding pit or the biggest orc has a harem or something.
It tells you everything you need to know about the writer's ideological nonsense and apathy for the source material. They have no interest in the lore except to appropriate it for their own woke agenda.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m pretty sure a lot of the writers were in Bad Robot so it makes sense that they would destroy this IP as well as
I had to re-release due to copyrighting issues. All fixed now, please enjoy!
ill copyright u again I swear I'll do it until you send me $50 in witchcoins yes this is ransomware pay my toll
I now want a The Office like sitcom with orcs that we’ll never have thanks for that
Hopefully one of the Amazon executives see’s this video and steals the idea haha
