lads I got my a fantail bat last year and Jesus h christ is it good, get it done up every so often at fantail and always do a great job. seriously take my word and get one of their bats ( especially their core bat )
Great stuff, looks just like a new bat! I'm thinking of refurbishing my old man's bat for his birthday but I don't have the right tools, maybe I should send it to you. It's an old Gray Nics powerbow which he's had for over 13 years.
Interesting to see the new apoxy fibre toe guards. Be interested to see how they perform, is there a bit of flexibility in them? Seen apoxy toes guards before that were so hard that if they shattered they took half the toe with it.
Is there like a 2 year later video that you can do on some of these bats? I know they wont last forever but it would be interesting to see how longevity was added to the bat. As always awesome work done here!
I have a small crack on the bottom of my very old bat . The bat is not worth any money now . Just want to know if i can use any glue or is there a specific glue that is used for bats ??
@@polar-bear546 I'm pretty sure it can still be used in a proper match. If it was just meant to be for use against a tennis ball, what would be the point in refurbishing it?
Depends upon the damaged area... Like in this case.. The area around the handle is a precarious one, this might not be good idea using it in the match.. These will do good in practice nets though..
I have been playing this game for last 20 years and can safely say that this bat was not looked after by the owner, the willow is all dried up and crumbly. You have done a fantastic job of patching this up, but the damage is too much and beyond repair. I am sorry but Its not going to hold up against good pace attack.
if you go on shaving the bat for every refurbishment and if you put holes at some area and if it crack happens at the same area again, that would be hard to fix right? putting holes are such mandatory even for minor to moderate issues?
The cracks in the shoulders occurred from the layers of the handle delaminating. As we replaced the handle and fixed the shoulder cracks, the same issue shouldn't occur for at least a year. The dowel pins aren't mandatory, but they strengthen the vulnerable shoulders, and any cracks that develop in that area again won't be as bad as if the pins weren't there and can easily be sealed. Customers can let us know that they don't want dowels inserted.
Yes, our bats are shipped worldwide. We only sell direct to customers, so all international orders need to be placed through our website: fantail.store/
I don't get why he is using epoxy resin to glue that handle. Epoxy sets hard which will be different to how lignin hold wood fibres. I think wood glue would be a better choice. It would mimic how real wood behave.
Along with the layer delamination, which caused the shoulder cracks, it also had a lateral break across the back of the handle, which is why it was replaced.
Who told you that🙄.. no offense, but have you ever bought a cricket bat before, cause bats of this quality in the video will cost atleast 10-12000 INR which is equal to 155-160 USD. The price will shoot because of the willow used. English willow is much costlier tha. Kashmir willow.

@@FantailCricket ok thankyou
Can you refurbish my bat also. What will be the cost in Indian rupees
Hi, what kind of glue do you guys use to fix the bigger and smaller cracks? It looks like you guys use super glue for the smaller cracks?
Epoxy for open cracks/handles, super glue for surface cracks. If we need to fill a small area we'll use an epoxy/English willow dust mix.
@@FantailCricket so it’s just a regular 2 part epoxy resin?
@@FantailCricket also is there a place where you can buy English willow dust?

The wood in that toe is completely dead. There is no life left in it for playing.
Why should you cut the existing handle? what is the reason.
because it was damaged and would break off if not replaced
Along with the layer delamination, which caused the shoulder cracks, it also had a lateral break across the back of the handle, which is why it was replaced.
