IDk if yall realize this but Ubisoft is clearly just going to reskin the old game using the new assets and systems. so basically im expecting them to turn the old games into the new open world rpg style and thats not what i want.
I can see them tasking the remake with Ubisoft Bordeaux (I think they already decided the Ubisoft Studio but idk which) as they kind of brought back the og parkour in AC Mirage.
Well they can up the scale of the Caribbean with more land exploration. I think they could integrate a bunch of the ships, modifications, fort combat, and unlocks from skull and bones into the remake. Long as they are supplementing black flag not jamming in skull and bones. The wave tech was pretty nuts but the ship physics could use a bit of an overhaul as well as the crew for cannon impacts. Better textures, more underwater exploration. More treasures and hidden areas. There is opportunity to make it into the ultimate pirates of the Caribbean game unintentionally. They could probably cross over the naval unlocks from Odyssey & origins as well.
About the save files: that happened in every Ubisoft game that they recently added Steam achievements to. So save files in AC Revelations, AC Black Flag, AC Rogue, AC Unity, AC Syndicate, Far Cry 3, FC4, FC5 and FC6 are gone, on Steam at least.
Honestly, the only thing I'd add would be more customization for the ship, hideout and Edward, and maybe add the few quality of life that was in the E3 reveal that was cut out of the game
Id like to see them adapt parts of the book into the remake. I don't really know if the book is considered cannon. But it had some added moments that would be interesting to see. Since everyone complains how it doesn't feel like an AC game adding the Templar who destroys Edwards home in the prologue might help. And it would help make Edwards wife and daughter feel like more important characters. Due to them having more of a role in the story rather than just seeing them in the flashbacks every now and then.
I still remember that in the last mission of the main campaign we have to fight some huge ships if i'm not wrong to finish the main game but what i did was instead of fighting the ships i just jumps out of my ship and continue to swim until i reach the certain boundaries, after reaching that particular boundary guess what,I did finish the game without even fighting and saw the end cutscenes followed by credits,lol!...
The last time I had saves disappear was with one of the early Valhalla title updates. In early 2021 I turned off Cloud Save in Ubisoft Connect and haven't had a problem since. With it enabled it has write access to your save files and if there is a glitch then it can delete and fail to replace the saves. To make matters worse once this happens you also lose the saves in the Cloud and there is nothing Ubisoft can do to restore them because they mirror your hard drive saves which are now empty. If you turn off cloud saves it turns off write access to your hard drive. No need to worry about saves unless you move to another computer or format the C: drive for a fresh Windows install. Then all you need to do is backup the 'savegames' folder to a safe place and reinstall it after installing Ubisoft Connect. Since I've turned off Cloud Saves I've seen at least a dozen people lose saves in several Ubisoft games while my saves for the same games are fine. If you aren't using Cross Progression then it's best to just turn off Cloud Saves because it just isn't necessary and causes more problems than it cures.
Imagine if black flag was remade by the same studio as Mafia I Remake... All new facial animations, story smoothed out, easy achievements, quick saves, auto saves, load chapters system, open world with added quests, superior graphics redesign etc. Oh man
23:35 I wholeheartedly agree on the whaling thing. It’s something that we wouldn’t necessarily do nowadays, but that fact in itself adds to the immersion of being in a different time period. I enjoy the whaling part of the game because it puts me in the shoes of someone that would’ve lived in that time rather than in a sanitised, modernised version of history.
I'm actually getting a little excited for this remake, not "pre-order" excited, but maybe "steam sale" excited, which is more than I can say for any other recent ubi game
As I understand, "scalar" refers to cloud computing, not things you say. For example, if you want big hordes of monsters in a game, the AI can be delegated to the cloud and not computed on your PC, etc.
Ubisoft decided to make multiplayer black flag to cash in on it. Spent over a decade pouring money into a Skull & Bones shaped hole, now turning Skull & Bones back into AC4 to re-coup the cost.
please keep the original animation based combat it’s so satisfying deleting an entire enemy patrol without ever having to actually fight back just parrying and takedowns
I never finished the story, but i absolutely loved the multiplayer. This was the last AC game that had it and would love to get addicted to it again with a remake.
I’ve never even seen gameplay of Black Flag so I never knew it looked/looks that good if there isn’t a port to pc or PS5/Xbox Series I would be happy with that
Even if Shadows and the remake do well, the company will not survive without better leadership and management. Success alone is not enough. Real change is needed at the top.
God I wish I was a child 12 years ago when black flag launched. Sadly, I was in my 30s. However, I still have super fond memories of this entry. I would 100% be into a black flag remake. I hope they lean hard into the pirate town as well, I love upgrading / building colonies and what not in games.
AC3 was the BEST in combat. They went no where but backwards from there. The blocks & counter and break blocks WAS AWESOME... Those were AWESOME animations
The worst thing for me, that i hope they change, is that in any assassin's creed game, missions that require you to follow someone (not sneak trail) are so annoying. Since they walk at their own speed and you cant speed them up or just go to the location to progress the mission. I dont want to follow someone who is walking at a snail's speed and giving me the whole game's lore
I would love to see people trying to deffend the 20 minutes long tailing missions of Black Flag, 90% of the story missions are just that, and it's boring as hell, the rest of the game is great, but that's a problem that I don't see anyone talking about

Not a real creed fan.........
Kidding kidding
Id go
Ac2
Brohood
3 or flag...... ok it's black flag
@ lol. I enjoyed 2 when it came out, and brotherhood. But I feel like they haven’t aged as well to me.
And I think I just got fatigued by the setting of those games personally. Lol. I really didn’t need 3 games about Ezio lol. He’s not even in my top 5 AC protags. So I was ready to move on from his trilogy after AC 2 lol.
But I know fans regard the Ezio trilogy as the best.
But for me it would be down the list quite a ways lol.
@shoff29 hahah ur right
Id put em top 10 of my favorites all time lol
Tbh I havent played those games in.......damn idk
7+ yrs
I bought the ezio collection for ps4 fact I have every ac game but haven't played 1 since Valhalla
Valhalla killed my love for the series so much and I dont wanna go back and mess up the fond memories I have of the ezio trilogy
Dude I loved the borgias so much in that game
I watched the showtime show.......
The borgias lol
I hope they keep Edwards walking animation
IDk if yall realize this but Ubisoft is clearly just going to reskin the old game using the new assets and systems. so basically im expecting them to turn the old games into the new open world rpg style and thats not what i want.
Still remember, going to buy this game and the happiness of going to my basement at the time and playing with my mom good times
Too bad Yakuza is beating them to the punch this month. As well of they make it like modern AC games it probably won't do well either
I liked black flag because it was solid game for it's time. Doubt remake will be the same.
Why are they talking about the on foot combat when it's the ship combat that matters?
There's much more melee combat in the game than ship combat
I guess you've never played the game have you? Because there is tons of foot combat...
Only thing they could improve is the mission vaierty and maybe add a few more side quests and unique random ecounters.
Honestly, the only thing I'd add would be more customization for the ship, hideout and Edward, and maybe add the few quality of life that was in the E3 reveal that was cut out of the game
Black flag was great when you was at sea but as soon as you go on land or do the story it’s mid
The first 50 seconds of this video is gold. Somebody send it to a ubi executive quick!!
A Hadel scream within the first minute? Freaking epic!
Well, time to find the original physical copy at my nearest GameStop.
In before Edward's trans reveal.
If they messed this up, it's done for them. Assassin's Creed is no more.
They’re already done. They need a goddamn miracle to save them out of that vortex
Imagine if black flag was remade by the same studio as Mafia I Remake... All new facial animations, story smoothed out, easy achievements, quick saves, auto saves, load chapters system, open world with added quests, superior graphics redesign etc. Oh man
Hopefully the multiplayer will be included
They need to go back to basic and remake the whole Altair and Ezio saga
I 100% black flag on steam now that they added achievements to steam and it still holds up, hated having to grind the multiplayer tho
This may be the first thing Ubisoft has done in a decade that looks fun.
Syndicate is also out of this world and visually insane.
I stopped playing the AC3 because of the load screens, they should definitely make it a seamless open world
23:35 I wholeheartedly agree on the whaling thing. It’s something that we wouldn’t necessarily do nowadays, but that fact in itself adds to the immersion of being in a different time period. I enjoy the whaling part of the game because it puts me in the shoes of someone that would’ve lived in that time rather than in a sanitised, modernised version of history.
i tried Mirage last month and it made me feel how much one missed old AC nd went back to Blackflag nd wow 12 years nd still m immersed in BF
The pirates in the game are less desperate to steal money from people than Ubisoft is
It doesn't need to be remade!
Come on and roll the old chariot along
Yes, we'll roll the old chariot along
Come on and roll the old chariot along
And we'll all hang on behind
I like the tailing quests. I felt like i was doing surveillance before the kill. And that's basically what it was. Finding info.
I just want them to add more tree parkour like in Ass creed 3.
My hope is that this game ends up being a great game, sells well and opens the door for full Black Flag sequels.
Why is this 40 minutes though lol
please keep the original animation based combat it’s so satisfying deleting an entire enemy patrol without ever having to actually fight back just parrying and takedowns
Assassins creed 1 needs a remake and that’s it
I never finished the story, but i absolutely loved the multiplayer. This was the last AC game that had it and would love to get addicted to it again with a remake.
We don't need a remake of black flag, we need a remaster of AC1 and AC2. Playing AC2 with modern graphics would be an absolute dream.
I’ve never even seen gameplay of Black Flag so I never knew it looked/looks that good if there isn’t a port to pc or PS5/Xbox Series I would be happy with that
I just replayed and got 100% the other day. Wish I waited now
Just remake AC 2 combined with the Brotherhood storyline and make Revelations as DLC 😢 but maybe not bc Ubisoft would also mess that up
A man can dream
Even if Shadows and the remake do well, the company will not survive without better leadership and management. Success alone is not enough. Real change is needed at the top.
No way it looks as good as that Red Dead 2 mod. That looked unbelievable. I’d love to be proven wrong, but that would just be unbelievable.
If they change the combat or parkour it is 100% a deal breaker. Modern “AC” compared to black flag is an objective downgrade.
God I wish I was a child 12 years ago when black flag launched. Sadly, I was in my 30s. However, I still have super fond memories of this entry. I would 100% be into a black flag remake. I hope they lean hard into the pirate town as well, I love upgrading / building colonies and what not in games.
The original Black Flag came out alongside GTA 5, the remake coming out with GTA 6 would be iconic lol
Oh boy, I hope you can change the display type without a mod on PC, unlike the current version…which worked fine before the “update.”
To think they made black flag but couldn’t make a multiplayer pirate game that’s any good.
The fact that Ac2. 3 and Rogue got remastered and not Black Flag hurts my soul
I would love to see people trying to deffend the 20 minutes long tailing missions of Black Flag, 90% of the story missions are just that, and it's boring as hell, the rest of the game is great, but that's a problem that I don't see anyone talking about
I believe Crimson Desert design philosophy is we can do everything 6:26
