In this vlog we check out the new Frontier Falls themed area, including the latest updates on their new roller coaster opening later this year. Over winter Shockwave has been transformed into The Wave and in this vlog we take a first look at thew new train and theming upgrades. We also get back on all of our favourite rides at Drayton Manor and step back inside Thomas Land for the first time this year!

Drayton manor was the first theme park I went to and shockwave was my first thrill coaster !!! Can proudly say ive got over my fear and now I go on rollercoasters as im older now. My first thrill coaster was shockwave and it breaks my heart that its closed It wont be the same !!!Love you guys ❤❤❤

Absolutely love this channel, before moving to Australia I used to live in Tamworth and was so close to both Drayton and Alton. Such happy memories at both parks, I hope to come back soon and maybe even meet ThemeParkWorldwide!

I've got fond memories of Drayton Manor back in early 90's.. The pirate adventure ☠️ river. I think it's gone now. Another one I use to go to in the 90's was American Adventure. Did you ever get to see that theme park?

It must be at least 15 years since I last went as a kid because Thomas Land was new. The old Buffalo was quite exhilarating for little me back in the day
Drayton are really smashing it recently! Vikings was a great addition. Wave is a great decision, Frontier Falls and new coaster looks epic! Can’t wait to get back there this year.

I knew that Drunken Barrels would be getting rethemed and Blasting Barrels is Cool and Sherrif Showdown is obviously a Wild West themed ride so it fits in with the area
When Thomas Land opened in 2008, Terence’s Driving School was placed next door and where Jeremy Jet did used to be. In 2011, Terence’s Driving School did move to Farmer McColl’s Farm and near Discover Thomas & Friends Exhibition the same time Blue Mountain Engines took its original space. It was next door to Jeremy Jet. Then in 2015 both Blue Mountain Engines and Jeremy Jet did move for the Expansion. Terence’s Driving School did operate near Discover Thomas & Friends Exhibition most of its time, then in 2023, the Exhibit was being moved to the exit of Winston’s Whistle-Stop Tours, late 2023 it opened. Also in late 2023, Terence’s Driving School was being relocated back into its original space and construction was going on, then in 2024, it did reopen for the Dinosaur Breakout event.

If they were to redo the pirates area I think it would be better to get rid of pirates adventure and put something new in its place some thing big

Thor is Awesome and Easily my favourite Zamperla Disco ride in the UK and Loki is Awesome too and it is the UK'S ONLY Nebulous ride too

Great video again guys thank you. Remember our last trip to Drayton Manor back in 2008/9. Thomas Land never existed back then, but always will Remember Pirate Adventure. Good to see The Haunting, Stormforce 10, Doges and Maelstrom still there. Got to go back at some point this year both.

I've only heard of this park recently. I'm from California, never really think of the UK as having theme/amusement parks outside of the beach ones and Alton Towers. There is something about these smaller local/regional parks in the UK that I notice have some of the most interesting rides, theming and layouts in a way that almost feels, quaint but not cheap, homemade but not tacky, wholesome but not sappy. I can't really describe it. I guess to me they almost seem fantasy or less to the extreme as say nearly every major theme park in the USA, and particular my state which has SeaWorld, Disneyland, California Adventure, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Universal Studios, Santa Monica Pier, Magic Mountain, Discovery Kingdom, Knotts Berry Farm, just to name the ones I can remember off the top of my head. All of them are great in their own way and suck in their own way, and while some of them are small, and mostly cater to the local population, nearly all of them are over-marketed, competitive and are each trying to outpace, out rollercoaster, out immersion each other to the point its just IN YOUR FACE loud EXTREMENESS. Don't get me wrong, I love it, its what I grew up with, its the baseline for measuring all other themeparks in the world. So when I come across the ones in the UK like Drayton Manor, I think, "How sweet, simple yet elegant and thrilling, just wholesome good fun without all the in your face bombardment" and it's like a little fantasy. Like how do these parks stay in business, how many of them are there out there.
Pirate adventure was my all time favourite but also waltzers in the dark😊Anyone remember them ?

Wild west area looks awsome but Accelorator sticks out like a saw thumb. Im hoping to get to the park later this year to experiemce The Wave as well as the brand new coaster. Aiming for a trip maybe in August, September or October.
The Haunting is such an underrated ride, it gets over shadowed by hex all the time despite it being the original vekoma madhouse in the uk. Cant wait to experience it again this year with its darker story
Wow. I remember a few years ago, things were looking so sad for Drayton Manor. But with the Vikings area, and now Frontier Falls, the park is looking amazing. Normally I opt for thrill parks, but I think I might have to check this out myself!

While a Buffalo Homage for Accelerator or the new ride would be nice, I think it would make more sense to go there own way. I thought for Accelerator to make it like a train or some prototype machine that goes out of control. This means they can keep some of the essence of the queue as it is, but it is now a professor's workshop/house
Great vlog, l LOVE Drayton Manor....had a final ride on Shockwave last year. Will be bringing my granddaughter here for the first time this year she is going to be blown away by it all! Lovely to see you both enjoying yourselves in the sunshine, definitely the best opening day, shows how it should be done😊

very expensive for this park aswell as the fact they are going down the family route. so it would be stupid to have an even higher height requirement than before. the new trains have a lower height requirement which is awesome for a family park
now if this ride was at like thorpe then surf trains would’ve been AWESOME
Great vlog Shawn and Charlotte. Loved my visit with my son last year (2023) to this beautiful family park. There's quite a lot to see and do and it's easy to get around so you can also fit loads of rides in. Shockwave and Accelerator were good, Loki was closed but Thor was fun. I enjoyed the Haunting and Thomas Land too. I was surprised to see a zoo there and reptile house, the animals and creatures seemed well looked after tho ❤

Yeah, I agree. I think that Pleasurewood Hills needs some much-needed investment (i.e. new coasters, flat rides, themed areas, etc.)

I would have made the centre of the park into a jungle area with accelerator as a safari truck ride with a 'big bear mountain' train and flying dutchman as tropical birds but with accelerator clearly they have other ideas. The first thing that comes to mind for me is Silver Dollar City's Power Keg for Accelerator
As for Pirate Adventure, since 2021 they've had an updated water ride, new flat rides, new roller coaster, the next logical step is to focus on a dark ride for 2026
Would love to see that!
Is it just me or is Sherrif Showdown missing some music? It just seems to be missing something. Some sand like flooring too mabey.
I don't like Air race it makes me feel dizzy but the Wave Swinger is Awesome though

Great vlog, Shawn, the best of the UK opening days. I really like the traditional themes of this park, such as wild west and vikings, as well as other light themes like beach and coast. A modern version of Pirate Adventure could be fantastic, as well as bringing back an outdoor boat ride like Excalibur, with a jungle or dinosaur theme. The outdoor dinosaur animatronics have come on leaps and bounds.

The advertising board for The Wave looks cool since it been installed a few days ago and the theming on the entrance looks great too just really hope they give the track a jet wash before it opens as it looks really dirty!

I'm really happy to see Drayton Manor getting a revival after being purchased by Looping Group. I used to go every year to Drayton Manor with either school or my friends and it ended up getting a bit boring overtime, especially with the lack of theming that they had. It's nice to see them revamp certain areas/rides and also introduce new areas and rides.
I will always have nostalgia for 2000's Drayton Manor, but it's nice to see the park being given a new life and not being closed down, which is a worry that was had around 5 years ago when they weren't doing so well.

i hope the wave will still be as enjoyable with the ride been build with elements to enchance the standing up aspect worried that a standard sit down train may not be as exciting when the track isnt built for that kind of train

Staff have informed me that after they finished with the new area/coaster and the wave they gonna start removing all the old theming off the sides of the pirate adventure building as it’s all rotten and unsafe. I think they may move away from the pirate theme as they could include the castle of dreams within the area.

I'd assume they'll see if they can get The Wave signed off in the next week or two and then open The Wave and Storm Force 10 the same weekend, then the brand new one in July

I’ve lived local to Drayton manor for 30+ years and it gone right downhill in the past 15, currently as it stands it has one ‘big’ rollercoaster in what’s now called ‘the wave’ why they have made it sit down is beyond me, the whole reason shockwave was good was because it was stand up. No apocalypse, no klondike, no waltzers, no g force, no sky flyer. This was a great theme park 15+ years ago, we lived there as kids. Shame

My partner booked ticket online in February for the 22nd of March and little did we know the park wasn’t even open, yet they allowed us to book online instead of blanking out that date and have yet to reply to give us a refund , not a great start to the year eh . Ruined my sons birthday 👎🏼 they don’t even have a customer number you have to email and wait for a reply
Surely that's illegal. How can they sell a service then not provided it
@@cg_plays I’m not sure what’s happened weather it’s a glitch in their server online but we have sent proof on email of the paid tickets , I’m more gutted for my son who’s days was ruined because of their mistake :/
Report them to Trading Standards for services not rendered. To take your £ in those circumstances is not legal.

It states on the website the opining date so you should have checked there yes what thay did where wrong but it does state "OPEN SELECT WEEKENDS FOR THOMAS LAND FULL PARK OPENS ON THE 24TH"
