The Fresh Salt I was in Cairns, Queensland, Australia just recently and I asked the locals there if they knew about bass and they seemed confused. Do you know if there was any bass around that area? Where do you find Australian Bass?
Not too shore about Cairns but they are found in fresh and brackish water esturies all down the east coast of australia! I don't target them as they arnt in my state but they are mostly found in nsw and victoria. Plenty of bigger better fish to target in cairns mate ive fished it a few times!

I saw a bass resource article years ago where someone noticed in a heavily fished pond that there where a unusual amount of bass like that one with a massive mouth and a skinny tiny little body. They caught some and dissected them. All of the fish like the one you caught had soft plastics stuck inside their stomaches and intestines. They determined they where large healthy fish at one time but because of the "impacted" soft plastics they where not able to properly digest food and where dying very very slow deaths.
Guys I'm really hoping you used lake water for the tank! If its just dechlorinated city water it might not go so well for you, I recommend trying to keep the fish in the same water. Just initially and slowly mix in city water thats been treated over time. It will go much better than mostly city water off the hop. The naturally occurring bacteria is key.
hey Rob, I fish a nice sized pond with HEAVY HEAVY grass and I usually throw Texas rigged senkos and brush hogs and I always thing about using a swim jig would that be a good technique with all that grass?
Someone needs to start keeping some! They are starving. The little ones for sure. I know I am going to get some crap for this but to get some bigger ones the population needs to be managed.
