I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

I recently got turned on to LFT soft plastics. Being from the north LFT isn't as popular as it is down south, but I came cross them one day when my normal creature bait wasn't available, and I bought some hyper freaks. Had some pretty good luck with them. Hell, they even work good as a jig trailer for a bulkier profile.
Congrats on a beautiful fish! I wish we had more places to fish for largemouth in Maine! We have one of the best Smallmouth fisheries in the US so that helps! I live right on one of the best Smallie Rivers in the state! Good Times!

You need to come to upstate New York and fish Sackets Harbor and Lake Ontario. I have i super nice camp there since 1972. Just south of 1000 Islands.
A few challenge ideas: 1. Salt water lures only; 2. Only bring a hook/weight/rod you must fish with only what you can find (grasshoppers, bluegill); 3. Make your own lure at home; 4. You get to choose the other persons lure/set up

I caught a really skinny 24 1/2 inch bass a few years back that was only 5.5 pounds! This fish was so fat to be over 10 that's awesome. Congrats!
