Ahh Rome2 the game where poisoning provisions could wipe an entire stack in 3 turns. Good times.
Or Troy Total War :D
Attila: total war
(That I actually liked it a lot more of Rome 2 even if it was left half broken and unoptimised)
has factions that use poisonous arrows 🏹 as unique ability.
An it will poisons the whole unit, not the single hit model.
A youtuber tested with "controlled fire" and showed that 1 single poisonous arrow 🏹 can kill 34 men.
3 turns? No i used to have 2 spy's and reck everything and every one😂
didn't they revamp that right now? because when I installed it it just reduce the army's MS and you need to have a high lvl spy to have it do the poison thing but it's not that effective now
And thats why i mod out agents, because I want to fight.
You can get at least 80-90% upkeep reduction for mercenaries as carthage, without to much trouble and just have stacks of noble swords, cav and elephants, which is pretty fun
How? Id love to try this!
A 50 minute video of watching stakuyi crush barbarians? Yes please
The celts up in Scotland destroyed the Romans
He is doing God's wor.....Jupiter's work!

31:58 I remember one time my defending army was almost wiped out, but I managed to keep one unit of spearmen and used them to block an alley and then sent a unit of plebs in the other side. It was the only time I’d ever seen a unit of plebs finish with triple digit kills.
I tried that the other day. Had some hastati/legionaries holding an alley. The plebs were chilling so I had them hammer the back of the units engaged with the actual soldiers.
They broke real quick lol
@@wiseman46237 Oh yeah I was 100% expecting the plebs to break after the first hit and was just wanting to take down as many enemy as I could. I was blown away when they somehow managed to hold on long enough to break the final enemy unit instead and then mopped up the fleeing enemies.
@@wiseman46237…The plebs or the enemies?
@@fakjbf3129 cool story bro but that wouldn't work on any difficulty higher than easy
@@kairon5249 I believe it was normal difficulty, it’s been years but I don’t think I ever set the difficulty to easy. It definitely wasn’t hard difficulty.
what a fantastic game you picked so much replayability and cultures it's so fascinating cultures I never knew were real until I researched them, and also it is a good fun game to play not when it first came out we all know those days
Being rome is like: "I wanted to meet intresting and stimulating peoples of ancient culture.... and kill them or turn them into romans. Be it by sword or trade. Well get the job done"
I usually play as the Cornelii simply because of this lol. I love having armies mostly full of the auxilia units with a few legionnaires to soak up that damage.
Using foreign troops as human meat shields?. Bloody brilliant!!.
@@aetius7139 Using Auxiliary units as meat shields is actually kind of a bad idea unless it's the normal or easy AI. They are very specialized units simply because Romes core units are heavy and super heavy infantry. It's best to use Auxilia to complement the legions ability to sustain heavy damage or prolonged melee by either using light infantry to flank and attack the rear of the main line or harass the ranged units in the back keeping the AI and possibly players from knocking out your best units.
Basically, legionaries do the main fighting and then the auxilia harass and then pursue the routing enemy.
@@Mx12bi agree. I usually play on hard and tend to use auxilia to offset the deficiency of the Roman heavy infantry. So I'll have some Gallic heavy cavalry to fight off their cavalry or destroy siege weapons in their rear, a couple cretan archers to suppress their ranged units, and some Greek hoplites to either hold the center while the legionaries overcome the enemy flanks or defend the flanks from cavalry charges. Add a ballista or two to soften up their heavy hitters, and I'll usually win most battles with at most 2-3 hundred casualties. Of course i only give those armies to family members. Other faction characters I'll give regional armies for territory defense, mostly auxiliaries but with a few legionaries to stiffen them, and artillery to force enemies to attack. Autoresolve with those armies are usually defeats, but i manually fight those battles and can usually win even against superior troops. Makes it easy for me when they revolt. Cheesy but it works i guess.
@@Mx12b He was joking. Lol
@@aetius7139 Ah, yes. Spend the Irish.
I’m loving seeing you play total war, these games were my childhood I still remember bricking a family computer trying to get shogun 2 to run as a kid. Super exited to see you expand the horizons of the channel and to get to be here to support it, thanks for making these videos dude
Started playing this game again recently so this upload is perfect!
Playing a campaign as the Man the myth the legend himself Pyrrhus of Eprius and retaking the land of Alexander would be a great campaign
I love a Pyrrhus game. I’m always racing to get as much done before Pyrrhus dies so he can see his ambition complete
@@zal7782just use 4 turns per year mod and have fun with your favourite historical commander.
In my playthrough, he died as a sacrifice to neptune. Tried to engage my fleet. So I sacrifice him and whole stack as offerings to neptune.
this is exactly what i needed! i am really enjoying Rome 2 with the Divide Et Impera Mod rn, cannot recommend this mod enough
Yes! Finally found your youtube. Enjoyed your tiktoks/insta stuff. Very excited to check your TW stuff
Stakuyi is just what I need on vacation
Love the breaking news bulletin, you should use those more Gabby.
The first time I played rome 2, I saw the -50% upkeep from the Cornelii and went "wait that's broken" and played as them... good times
YES!!!! Please make so many more of these
4:20
"Tell the Principes to loose their javelins!"
"But sir, we'll hit our own men!"
"We'll also hit theirs."
I am all for these kinds of videos!! Thank you Stakuyi!!!
Take a drink every time stakuyi says simultaneously. Intense 🤣
The Seleucids are the most broken nation in the Grand Campaign. They can gain so much momentum by demanding tons of gold for peace from enemies and rebelling satrapies that it's almost impossible for the other player to catch up in a multiplayer campaign. And even though the Roman land armies are stronger, it's possible to win the game through naval superiority by blockading the main Roman trade port.
I agree the auxiliary upkeep bonus makes the House of Cornelia 2nd or 3rd, though. Note that Antony has the same bonus in the Imperator Augustus campaign. Carthage is also a contender for #2 because they can just land a single general in enemy territory and instantly train a full stack of mercenaries.
Need more Rome 2 content from you please
hey man if you havent heard of it there is an amazing mod for rome 2 called divide et impera that adds a lot of depth into the game including supply lines and army reforms like the roman marian reform. it does make the game harder but it adds hundreds of new units and ive sunk another 1000 hours into rome 2 thanks to it.
17:58 I laughed out loud when they just went around your double army in a hurry there. Peak performance!
I love your videogame taste. Keep up the good work. 👍
Total war now nice!!! keep it up man!
Love that you are doing total war as well! Warhammer please!
Ah yes. Building an entire army of Auxiliaries.
It's not like that ever went bad for Rome.
Nothing more satisfying than when diplomacy breaks down and your campaign just completely devolves into “they now all must die”
I always enjoy seeing different strategy games
Wow I wasn't expecting Stakuyi to come to Rome
I believe the spiffing brit did this a couple of years ago. he managed to reduce one unit to 2 gold per turn.
Could you imagine how fun it would be to watch him play Napoleon total war?
total war empire and napoleon are the best imo. you should give those a try
you gotta try DEI mod for rome 2. improves the game thousand times over.
Can't wait to see more Total war gameplay and a to z
I didn’t know I need more Rome 2 from Stakuyi
Ahh stakuyi And total war my best Dream
19:04 Elephants on legendary vs those spearmen would've been hilarious 😂😂😂😂
stakuyi: "We'll just be spamming armies."
Well, that is pretty accurate to Punic Wars Rome....
Yeeeeeeessssss!!!!! More Total War!!
Nice, I'd like to try this
ill be waiting for the warhammer total war games :D
The funny thing is I do this exact same thing in shogun 2 with the chosokabe and just a mix of Ashigaru archers and whatever the basic polearm is.
How you have that many factions to start with?
just curious if your now covering other games do you think would would wanna try games like total war warhammer? as you have alot of diverse factions in that series, maybe even try some good scifi strat games like endless space stellaris, sins of a solar empire or galatic civ series.
If you want a bit more from Rome 2, the Divide et Impera mod is fantastic for it.
Stakuyi a cool idea you could try is do multiplayer total war battles against subscribers
"Keep these units together in a death stack." Ah yes, the Roman Method.
Can i just say i love the new channel icon
Will you make a total war video on rome 1/medieval 2/napoleon?
You can stop rebellions by other families by making sure they’re happy with you. You can tell where they are in the family screen. The side bar on the left displays the other families’ members. Next to them should be a number that indicates happiness with your family. Doing actions like “secure promotion” or doing missions like diplomacy raises their disposition. You can completely remove the chance of any rebellions by making sure the other families like you.
I missed how you can stop rebellions
@@trollmastermike52845 basically if I you check the politics screen there’s a number that indicates their happiness. When sufficiently negative there is a chance they rebel.
@@ianperry8557and…… how do you keep them happy because they always get pissed some point which is annoying so I just use the no succession mod
Socrates, the grand tinker of Athens, said to Ion, the Homer reciter."All good poets, epic as well as lyric, compose their beautiful poems not by art, but because they are inspired and possessed by a Muse or God."
Never seen this game, looks fun!
Total War: Rome II is my favorite TW game by far. I bought all the DLC like 5 years ago when I was 17 and was playing since 15
Also I definitely LOVED playing as Egypt
Oh, oh my, my, my, I now has a plan for my next Campaign!!!
That may or may not be my exact House of Rome I play in the multiplayer because my friends aren't as experienced in history as me so they don't know all the tactics that Roman employed so I use my game style to mostly protect them however if I don't want to be super powerful my backup is usually Sparta....why? because hoplite phalanx
Rome 2 my favourite total war game
I know that it's not quite your pace but I still say that you should do some Total War Warhammer 3! I'm sure that the insane mix of skaven, greenskins, chaos, etc would be very much up your alley.
more total war pls
have you ever played Rome II with Devide et Impera? would love to see some video's on that
Someone's been watching "spiffingbrit"
lol I’ve been following you on Instagram for a year wondering what you did for a living, and now I discover you here lol
My man pulled out the good old Russian strat of just throw more men at the lines
Hey, Stakuyi, have you considered playing Rome in EUIV's MEIOU & Taxes 3.0 mod?
How about Civilization 3?
I started playing again, I played as Bactria and I’m almost made it to Egypt and modern day turkey.
The day is ours!
Baktria's probably my favourite faction: Hellenic, but with good skirmishers. All round combined arms fun, with a mighty sledgehammer in Indian War Elephants.
So I suggest them.
Ya should try divide et impera and ya will see quite some nice results
i remember spiffing doing the same thing in a video
this would be even more broken if a centurion was used to upgrade the units to gold 3 before conquest
Rome 2 is one of my most favourite TW games, good choice of making video of it :D
However... Rome as a faction is that OP? I much prefer factions with more versatile unit roster. Rome has only good heavy infantry + cavalry, I like archers and other skirmishers ( maybe too much lol)
Hi Stakuyi! If you think it'd be worth it, I think a playthrough of the Youjo Senki Redux mod in HoI4 would be fun to see. =^x^=
This is so much cheese you could make a Deep Dish pizza with it.
u are the legend
Raise Hell and Praise Daleius
You should play divide eat impera I have so much fun using that mod
44:02 Must be the most polite (very british of you) and hilarious way to rudely ask someone to scram xD
Ayyyyyy lets gooooo this game and HOI4 are my favorite strategy games
Bro I swear every game I buy, the next week all of the people I watch play it, has happened with Rome 2, M&B bannerlord, Empire at war, etc
Stak is finally coming home to Rome
I wouldn't mind seeing Stakuyi play Civ 6: there are definitely enough fun challenges to do there, even if the game is not as complex as Hoi4.
nice video!
More Millenium Dawn Stakuyi
Pretty please 🥺
Would you consider playing the Alexander the great campaign from Total War Rome Remastered on the channel?
He needs to try this on the radius mod as that greatly increased the garrison size of everything
Prefer DEI, dont get me wrong. Radious is a good mod. But DEI done it better. Shame DEI cant work with other mods due to tweaks in morale system and unit stamina. But its just soo good. Flanking now really does hurt. Even a sh!!ty unit can really f-ed up your elite units if it gets behind you.
If your willing to play something other then a historical TW then might I suggest warhammer 3? Play kislev and get full stacks of polar bears with people riding them with gaint halberds/spears and go kill some people or demons :D! However if you are going to play more rome 2 then I might suggest playing macedon and recreating alexanders empire? God I miss those spear walls and just watching the AI run into them so much :P
You should play some of the mods for medieval 2 like tsardom
Played this game with DEI that much that I just can’t play vanilla anymore
yeah vannila sucks
This game is what you make it 🤣Such reforms and the auxiliary infantry will crack it🤭
Total war warhammer 3 would be fun to watch you play!
I'd love to see a Himyarite campaign in Attila.
Make yourself a Jewish Caliphate and conquer the Ummayad lands at their height.
I've never played more Tham 50 turns as rome, I like the challenge not day one expecting them all to fall to me
yeah I would like a rome 2 gameplay.
that auxiliary tactic is the closest thing i´ve seen to a Zerg rush attack ever 🤷♀🤷♀
you need to play the divide et empera mod for rome 2
Episode 14 of asking Stakuyi to play Equestria at War as Equestria with “Twilight Theory” turned on in custom game rules.
I'd love to see you play as the Iceni and have the Britons take Rome instead of the other way around.
Love it ! , Gib us mooorrreeee
Stak you should try the great war mod for Napoleon total war
Play the Divide et Impera mod
Would love to see you play Warhammer total war !?
