Where can you work as a rbt besides just in clinics?

Could you let me know what lunchbox that is? I want to get one!
Also, I used to be a Para and now I am a nanny with one kid on the spectrum. I've been thinking of becoming an rbt but not sure if it is worth it? I love working with special needs but I have to be realistic with how expensive it is to live. Do they pay well? I feel like I am doing a good job with the one kiddo but I want to help more children

I tried being a behavior technician. But it didn’t work out unfortunately. It was honestly pretty demanding both emotionally and even physically. I ended up getting bruising on my knees. In that field, you’re also pretty much expected to be able to work with any child you’re given at any time, and it’s also stressful because most of the kids have around 7-10 goals and objectives that need to all be taken care of in one session. When I was let go, at least the owner of the clinic I was at was kind enough to not retract from my strengths and did feel like I would be more suited to work in a school setting as a para. Which now I am again after not doing that for several years and she knew that was a position I did a few years ago! I do enjoy connecting with and meeting anyone who works with the special needs population kids or adults!

Thank you for sharing your experience ! This field can be very difficult especially if you don’t have the right support. I hope all is going well and you were able to find something you love ☺️💗

@@carychats3705 The clinic I was at could be nuts because sometimes we would have kids that would escalate and it would take more than one BCBA to defuse them.
