Thank you for this. My Bach in psychology program with a minor in childhood and adolescent development was soooo heavy on writing papers, finished in less then a year and half and all I keep hearing is how hard this program was going to be with papers with one big difference being the classes are 10 weeks instead of 8 like my Bach was. I’m just trying not to get scared because of what I keep hearing, like of course I don’t expect it to be easy but yea…..

Always study the client profile after your first session. 2. Always make sure you have a 3 plans of your day to include options to run programs 3. Always be 10min early. On introduction days he 15min early 4. Remember you will always need At least 15min to set up your session 5. ALWAYS DO SESSION NOTES BEFORE YOU LEAVE! 6. VERFIY schedules with the RBT & BCBA AKA managing tech Not the family. 7. Have reinforcers with you and SMILE, don’t pressure or force anything, provide them options to cue them to make decisions, be comfortable, showered, have clean socks and shoes incase family requests no shoes, make sure the home has WiFi and that you have your supervisor contact ready incase they don’t.

I got hired for the RBT position. To be honest i have no clue when it comes to working with people with autism but i read about it. Im not comfortable going to people's homes because some people's houses can be disgusting. I live in New York city so it is very rare to find a clinic location to work.

So I can bill Medicaid directly as a certified RBT?

All of the stuff might be laws in Florida, but in North Carolina it’s much different for this field

*What's the best way to find RBTs to hire?*

I am a Special Education Teacher I will be starting my Graduate Certificate in January. Do you think doing RBT training will be beneficial? Also if I am in school can I get a job in this field while I am in school outside of being RBT?
