This new countdown to the race is better, it gives everyone a fair chance on the start rather than trying to line up and go on the line at the same time, awesome for roll racing
Depends what you want to achieve, because from 0 you can measure acceleration from...well... 0, how's the grip on the tires, the track, and overall traction as such. It's a technology measurement as well, since some might spin, some not. But if you start from a rolling position, which is what you are meaning and that's how it is called - rolling start, then it is easier to measure acceleration from certain speed to top speed, so it is easier to measure top speed for it and eliminating for that measurement unnecessary string grip requirement at the start from 0.
I just enjoyed the day up until the launches... Lol. We did find an order FB post showing the C6 at 750ps and 1054nm. But he said it was scaled back before selling it and eventually buying it back. Even I admit it sounds the best!
@JP_RS6 it's sounds true. I have a st3 800hp mtm sedan which has 11sec quarter mile and 6.8m 100-200. So the 670 mark hits the spot with those numbers given what we see in our FB group. If it was indeed 750, it would have smoked the C8 at that power as well

Buy car, get remap, floor it. Nothing much to get butt hurt over really (assuming they're all telling the truth about the mods). The newer car with the most power is the quickest... not really a shock. I'd prefer the C6 though, thought that before the races and after too.

Having spent much time with all 3...the c6 is such a sleeper but a pain to work on with the dry sump. C7 was my fav but forever melting plug #1. And the c8 is just mahooosive but has all the best tech. Great racing as per to cure a hangover😂
@@JP_RS6 yep. Cylinder gets hotter than the rest which is why they moved the airbox to the front for c8 to leave more space for cooling, plug interval was shortened too as had a fair few grenade. Un-tuned too.
Anyone watching a RS6 generations race knows allllllll about what a C6 RS6 can make with stock hardware and a mapped ECU. In fairness the C8/7 can get right there too. The difference is it looks like they've got a real OTS Stg1 map, whereas the C6 has switching on the Cruise control stock. 😂 I love it.
At first the roll racing made me think the C6 driver upped his boost on his final pass because it was bizarre that the C8 pissed him on the second roll race clearly walking away from him to then be the complete opposite on the final roll, however it’s clearly his dodgy solenoid that was creating that varied difference!
Hey Gasgang, love the Audi vid, but I have to pull you up on the C6 RS6. It didn't use a turbo-charged version of the Gallardo's 5.0 V10 - it's more like a 10 cylinder version of the 4.2 V8 and is related to the later 5.2 used on the S6 & S8. The C7 and C8 4.0 V8s are also completely different. All the best, Nick
Agreed on the V10, but the only difference I can find mechanically weith the C7 vs the C8 is the slightly different intake design and a a new mild hybrid starter motor/alternator. but essentially they are the same?

The C6 and C7 engines share the same deck height and bore spacing, but the C8 engine, shared with all the other current VAG cars, is a clean sheet design. It's square rather than under-square. There's lots of information in the VAG SSP training courses.
its a suprisingly common misconception lol. i'm not quite sure where people get the whole "audi uses the lamborghini 5.2" when its the other way around. doug demuro did a video on the c6 s6 and said that the v10 was derived from lamborghinis 5.2 when its literally audis in house designed engine haha

Another banger Jamie! Love the c6 so much, that v10 engine....i have never seen it properly tuned to the max, I always imagined it must push out so much power seeing it has such a huge power plant. I would probably take it or the c7, they look the best to me. I also think the c6 would've won everything if the boost issue didn't creep in.
That V10TT is an amazing engine and when tuned up out does the C7 a good deal, especially torque wise. I went for the C7 as its been my dream car since it came out. Turns out I bought a well maintained car on paper but not in practice, gearbox was low on oil and as black as crude oil. I've been putting in extra shifts to get it sorted lol. If jamie will have me back I'm coming back for redemption!!!
C6 is awesome, you can tell it was having problems on some runs and would of taken them all if it didn’t I reckon New start countdown is a good way as you can easily tell if a driver goes early 👏🏼👏🏼
There is only 1 true RS6 here and 2 what should've been S6-es. The C6 is a BEAST. That V10 certainly was the right call for that rocket. And listenting to that engine on some of the runs it either has a boost leak or injector issue. That's whay sometimes it pulls hard AF and sometimes doesn't.
Nice video! If you plan doing something with higher power I would be interested in as I have an Avant RS6 C6 pushing 800hp (up for sale) and a saloon RS6 C6 that will soon be ready at the 1000hp area 😊
Jamie we need the torque measurements aswell. C6 with the v10 and extra displacement will have more torque. Just so people can’t whinge stage 1 on all platforms 😂 😂
MRC badge on the C6 kinda looks like it has one of their stage 2's on it. My C7.5 QStuning stage 2 RS6 would've probably had it's bumper tagged by that purple V10!

The C7 was for sure not tuned well and the C6 was making more than it claimed. The C7 needs a proper DS1, APR or Unitronic ECU tune and a good TCU tune too because they have torque limits.
Lets be honest that V10 sounded incredible especially from the inside and you can do some serious upgrades to that V10 so defo C6 would be my choice 💯👍🏻
Edit: had the car at MRC recently and it turned out the previous "remap" I bought the car with was terrible, only producing 550ps 730nm torque (less than stock!!). So a rematch is definitely in order!! I havent even watched it yet, darent! Dreading it lol😅😂 Edit: for those who wanna know I'm the C7 Owner. I bought the car as recently as November and as is. It turns out i got burnt a little with it having a no name garage tune ( I thoguht i was buying a stock car) and despite lots of service history, the gearbox oil was as black as crude oil and down about 1L. Thanfully no shiny bits in the oil!! Gearbox has been serviced with fresh strainer and oil and the cars going to MRC Tuning at the end of April to get a fully custom ECU+TCU tune, so I should be pushing similar power to the other guys. Could of been worse!!
@@JP_RS6 You're braver than I'd be mate, paid a good amount of money for mine and need to let finances recover for a few months so it'll be getting babied till the piggy bank has enough pennys in to cover any hissy fits it chucks at me! That C6 driver definitely had some practice though, reactions were well on point in the drags. No shame on being pipped by a tuned V10 though, think the C8 owner is feeling the pinch after seeing something demolish him at a quarter of the price.
Coming from a C7 to a C8 rs6 owner, regrettably the C7 is the better car, C8 is far too soft, C7 is much more raw and sounds 10x better, sure if you like big screens and bright lights inside then yes go for the C8, but no way on earth its worth double the price. Wish i kept my C7 😢
@@oligoinup M5's gonna be the quicker car no doubt about that, the RS6 has the boot space, I have a husky and family so with the C7 being the dream car it fits my needs. If you don't need an estate and have no preference the M5's going to be the better choice. Either cars a head turner.
The way it hooked and had so much low end grunt was unbelievable. I just picked up a C7.5 RS6 yesterday with QSTuning stage 2 (fitted by previous owner) and I'm pretty sure that V10 would easily hang with it!

So far, software. Gearbox has been checked over ok. Crappy tune (As it has a TCU tune as well not just ECU), came with the car. Lesson learnt the hard way!
He said way too cheap. There’s a few for that prices but have issues. Most issues are an engine out job meaning at least £5k spent . To get one with those issues done your looking around 20k

Shak confirmed to me on the day its roughly 1000nm Torque, with my C7 being at 830nm.

The C6 was on autotrader a few weeks back listed with mrc tuned 770bhp and 1032nm of torque.

With those numbers you should be able to buy the c6 or c7 within one year if you save 5500 a month. With should be possible with those numbers.

It turns out i got burnt a little with it having a no name garage tune ( I thoguht i was buying a stock car) and despite lots of service history, the gearbox oil was as black as crude oil and down about 1L. Thanfully no shiny bits in the oil!!
Gearbox has been serviced with fresh strainer and oil and the cars going to MRC Tuning at the end of April to get a fully custom ECU+TCU tune, so I should be pushing similar power to the other guys.

@@JP_RS6 You're braver than I'd be mate, paid a good amount of money for mine and need to let finances recover for a few months so it'll be getting babied till the piggy bank has enough pennys in to cover any hissy fits it chucks at me! That C6 driver definitely had some practice though, reactions were well on point in the drags. No shame on being pipped by a tuned V10 though, think the C8 owner is feeling the pinch after seeing something demolish him at a quarter of the price.

c6 plays it smart, getting little behind at the start, little jump to get even on line but that makes him already dropped a gear so better pull
Coming from a C7 to a C8 rs6 owner, regrettably the C7 is the better car, C8 is far too soft, C7 is much more raw and sounds 10x better, sure if you like big screens and bright lights inside then yes go for the C8, but no way on earth its worth double the price. Wish i kept my C7 😢

@@oligoinup M5's gonna be the quicker car no doubt about that, the RS6 has the boot space, I have a husky and family so with the C7 being the dream car it fits my needs. If you don't need an estate and have no preference the M5's going to be the better choice. Either cars a head turner.

That C8 driver is a proper sour grape, you should never accuse anyone of cheating without proof. Those V10’s are absolute monsters.

The way it hooked and had so much low end grunt was unbelievable. I just picked up a C7.5 RS6 yesterday with QSTuning stage 2 (fitted by previous owner) and I'm pretty sure that V10 would easily hang with it!

Wow, the old school RS6 was pulling hard on the roll race! Nice generational battle! Sorry to hear about the C7. I wonder if it's an expensive gear box mechanical issue or just software. Too bad about the boost solenoid issue on the C6. I would take the C8.
So far, software. Gearbox has been checked over ok.
Crappy tune (As it has a TCU tune as well not just ECU), came with the car. Lesson learnt the hard way!

Is it just me or did I know that the C7 would give in, they notorious for giving issues in drag races especially gear box and differential issues

If you can get that kinda of performance from the C6 for around £14,500, that’s a no brainer 👍🏻
He said way too cheap. There’s a few for that prices but have issues. Most issues are an engine out job meaning at least £5k spent . To get one with those issues done your looking around 20k
Even 20k is still decent
