I was looking at the Honda fit and the Yaris at the time but this had much more than the others for $12,000, namely, all-wheel-drive, disc brakes all around, much bigger battery, bigger, tires, a roof rack best $7,000 I ever spent still driving it today. No problems so far. I love to drive by all of the Tesla’s at the charging stations and wave to everybody on a long trip while vacationing with the extra $60,000, I have saved by not buying a Tesla .🙋♂️🔌🚙
It is a need to have car not a "i am so picky on cars". My wife have bought a second hand one and is using it almost exclusively in town. She loves it and i have to add that we by cars because we need them and they have to be useful not items of luxury and opulence.
Bought a 2007 sx4 awd version off my buddy since he inherited a camry. He says he already misses it cause the awd system was like a tank in winter compared to jeeps and pick ups during near white out conditions. He always felt confident and was definitely a go to for anyone as first car owner for both urban and rural driving. Highway was always a bit of an issue as it struggled to pick up and always sat at 3k rpm (automatic verision) thus making it less viable for fuel economy highway wise. It's great for speeds anything 90 or below and even driving it myself it is a pretty awesome car to drive. Funny story he told me one time was that a spark plug fell into a cylinder but despite the lack of one cylinder firing, it still got him home without stalling (albeit with less power). It's a cheap affordable car that offers awd whereas a Civic or Corolla would cost more with less to offer

And yes, it also rattles, which sounds like defective wheel bearings. But what I personally found most annoying was the remote control and all the things you have to pay attention to. The only advantage is that it's impossible to accidentally forget the electronic key in the car. What do I love and appreciate about the SX4? It is very lively and overtaking is a lot of fun. I always have the feeling that I could always get more power out of the machine (if I wanted to). I don't have the feeling at all that I'm driving a lame car, quite the opposite! the I-AWD is an extreme enrichment and helps in the snow but also on muddy paths and slippery roads if you have decent tires on it. apart from brake pads and an oil change, the oil seals of the rear differential have only been changed once - nothing else! and you won't find any noticeable rust either. I have continued issues with parts support on my Sx4. It isnt a bad car per say, but good luck getting it serviced if you need anything past an oil change.
@robertlynch8039 you need a suzuki specialist or if you wanna bite the cost bring it in to toyota. They bow own suzuki and can get the parts (probably more than what your cars worth) but these thing are reliable as hell

@@fil1329 yup the "negatives" are: - horrible A pillars - weak/slow engine - higher then average gas consumption - tiny booth - almost useless rear windshield wiper - no nav or even usb audio - the front half of the car is steady and the rear half it thinks its another car so dont push it too hard - brakes wear out faster then usual - terrible oil filter location and some other things when it comes to maintenance for a daily car its fine just do the regular service, but if you are looking for something more fun look elsewhere

The 2 liter is rated at over 150 hp There's different ratings but all close to the 150 hp mark Its drive by wire so a bit slow on the throttle response My older 2 liter drive by cable which has a manual throttle plate responds much faster Decent power for its year I pull small trailers too no problem

Great small car, smaller than SX4 but it's OK. Expirience: definitely Japanese petrol engine :D Nothing better. Consumption is strong 7 liter's per 100km, not great not terrible: D

its nothing special but i use it as a daily since 2007 and i must say i havent had ANY major problems with it
