2001 Nissan Pathfinder Engine Computer Swap Idle Idle Air Control Burn No Communication With Ecu

i did one of these a few years ago where i had to replace the iacv and some of the ecu componients.

It is unlikely that a bad ECU will fry a new IAC.
The reason the failed IAC origially took out the ECU is because coolant got into the IAC motor.
If the ECU chip shorts out, it simply applies full control voltage to the IAC motor all the time which isn't destructive.

@@BestCarFixes I do appreciate your posts though... I went round and round with this mess for weeks. The IAC did take out my ECU as you said, but I also had some throttle poition sensor issues that prevented it from self learning once everything else was fixed. If that mechanical setting isn't within range, the "learning" just won't work. drove me nuts.

Hi, I have the same problem. The check engine light does not come on and the security light stays on. Is it the ecu that is the problem? all fuses are good

Try to see if all power and ground is good if it's OK then the engine computer is bad

This car is fixed I don't know what is your car problem but if you have Idle Air problem and if the ecu is burned Need replaced both together
