- Today, I go through my top 8 prospects for the Cornerback room in the 2024 draft. I also include highlights along with strengths and weaknesses for each of them, and talk about whether or not I would want them on the Detroit Lions!

Dejean is nice.. legit corner, but I see teams asking him to move to a corner/safety hybrid. Said it before his game is a lot like Malcolm Jenkins. In the right scheme he could be a monster. Plus, his long speed and return game are on point. He’s a baller.
I do agree he is a baller, watching him gets you excited. Definitely gonna be good he’s got a bright future!
Idk which corner the lions should take or in what round but I’ve learned to just trust brad he’ll pick the right one. Ecstatic when we went branch, someone in there must know good dbs when they see one.

Eagles fan here, good analysis brotha! Although I disagree on Mitchell he’s one of the more sticky guys in the draft, athletic with good size, doesn’t panic when the ball is in the WRs zone and he’s got the right CB1 attitude if you watch his interviews. The big question with him is level of competition, CB is a position where that really does come into play. Your technique can be perfect but he will be consistently challenged by higher caliber athletes in the NFL.

Kool Aid and Rakestraw are my One and two! ! Kid Aid is first and foremost is he is a 3 year starter at Alabama really that is the biggest thing ! You look at the Bama kids on the Lions! They are very well coached and more NFL ready than most kids coming out of college! Now Rakestraw , love his length and his man skills! That being said what I think the Lions need is an above average man corner! We just don’t have one, this kid is great! Love the way he sits in his hips and uses his feet more than his hand as a Defender!
Rakestraw has grown on me and has for sure become a guy I’d be willing to take and he can easily develop into something special! I AGREE!! And yes kool aid is just amazing and will develop as well!!
Guard our biggest need now
For the Lions specifically I see 3 that are great fits. Cooper DeJean, Kool-Aid and DJ James out of Auburn. DeJean feels like a brad holms pick but tbh I highly doubt he is gonna be available in the late 1st round when the Lions pick. Kool-Aid has been well documented as to why he should be a Lion. As fir James he is in my view the best day two option if McKinstery isn't available.

Kool-Aid is hurt, he has planter fashitus. Will fall to the 2nd. Cooper De Jean is a safety in the league. He better be able 2 play the slot.

Maybe the NFL should look at making the pass interference penalty a 15 yd instead of a spot foul . How do you expect two players of equal athletic ability , play without touching one another when the ball's in the air ? Commentators almost make defenders into criminals ,when they're calling games . You can hear them openly rooting for the offense .
100% agree I hate that rule one of worst rules in the league shouldn’t be penalized 45 yards for a controversial call😭😂😂

He's good base off the scheme. He great in Zone, but he's not up the par man to man wise. DeJean more so scheme he went to in Iowa

Kalen king has absolutely zero value rn. Terrible 2023 and a horrible senior bowl where I’m not sure he could even cover a blade of grass. At this point he’s a high risk upside guy, but he’s fallen out of top corners in this class talks.
I’m still very high in him he’s not bad but if he can’t ever be a CB1 I wouldn’t want him. I think he can he’s got all intangibles just needs more coaching and experience
I do agree that the upside is there, but the floor is so much lower now than before is the concerning point. I’m interested to see his combine because that’ll say a lot about his future too. I agree though that coaching rn is the only thing that’s gonna flip his career trajectory so there’s still hope, I’ve just fallen on him a lot.
