FFX is my favorite of all of the Final Fantasy games. Yes, VII was great and people are usually based in saying so (because it was the first Final Fantasy game at least to my knowledge to be in full 3D, but I digress). I grew up with almost all of the FF games you can think of being played, but I have the best memories with FFX. I used to stay at a house/trailer next to a lake and pool, and I just remember my brothers playing FFX on the PS2. I had memories of the song To Zanarkand and FFX's battle theme for years afterwards, I just never knew what they were/what game they came from. I only figured out whenever I was around 12 years old screwing around with Virtual Piano and finding a song called "To Zanarkand" and once I started playing it, all of those good and fun memories from my early early childhood came flooding back to me. I've played the game multiple times over in the past couple to a few years and each time I do it really never gets old I guess. This FF game had the most impact on me and I will forever love it, honestly. No matter the criticism that it may receive. AH HA HA HA HA HA! AH HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Allright, the first one was good but this is *crazy* good 🔥 You call some of these "way out there" but I'm super glad you didn't limit yourself to the more conventional or "obvious" songs because all of these work really really well. I love how you made the 6/8 time in Calm Before the Storm into a half-time 6/4 groove 😄 Really appreciate the effort you made transforming these songs. Head and shoulders above the average hip hop remix on TH-cam.
Thanks man, really appreciate the thoughtful comment. The guy I was working with on these basically requested every song that wasn't 4/4 on the OST so I had to figure out a lot of ways to make 3/4s and 6/8s interesting (or cheat like with Abyss). Glad you liked it!

That was actually the first track I did for this - the guy I collabed with delivered the track list and I thought "most of these are going to be impossible to lofi-ify" but once Purifico turned out good I was feeling like anything could work.

My favorites: Marble Pawn's Zeldawave inspired the whole trend, that's #1 for me. Kannibal has several sick video game OST mixes (Chrono series especially). Rifti does more traditional lofi but has a lot of FF beats. Bknapp is a little more boombap-y lofi but also some of my favorites - his SNES remixes and N64 tape are killers.
