Good to see you in good health, Naveen. Nice coverage of one of the oldest railway lines in Tamilnadu. The history of this line dates back to 1880s. There was a long tug of war between the Railways and Indian Navy (INS Rajali) for electrification. For many years, it only ran diesel loco between Chengalpattu and Arakkonam. The new detour became operational 5 years ago, I guess. Because of loco reversal, only one long-distance train (NCJ-CSMT bi-weekly 16352) runs on this line. Another one is PDY-TPTY MEMU. It could have been a great bypass for Chennai, but because of operational constraints, it is underutilized.
