5 grand wont touch that car in my area. 10k easy. There are foxbodys on marketplace with a beat to hell body (not as nice as the shitbox fox) an old carbed engine that doesnt run for 5k. If i could get that white car for 5 grand id buy 2
Love this guys videos but it’s in his best interest to keep project type cars cheap so he can buy low sell high. Truth is, Fox’s are iconic classics and the prices will continue to rise.
You can't buy that car for $5000 in Texas anywhere. My Guess, would be around $8k to $10K ballpark. The fox prices are still very high. Motor starts leaking, blown head gaskets, second gear on trans goes out. All of a sudden, it's torn apart and your doing a restoration. They are more than likely a money pit, you just can't see it. Pretty much happened to my fox. Just buy a restored one, will be much cheaper in the end.
I bought my first one for $2,500 I got my second one for a little over that, I’ve been living in Texas my whole life, never drove over a 100 miles for one. They are out there, don’t loose hope, or faith or whatever, but by all means, never get in a hurry for one, gonna have to take a big lone if you’re in a pinch, sellers can literally smell that I swear 😂
Fox mustang bodies were painted with heat cured paint. Plastic bumpers and mouldings went down a different paint line than metal panels as they were sprayed with chemically cured paint. All fox mustangs have different coloured bumpers and mouldings than the metal body unless they've been repainted. That's a good thing, it means they've no hidden any body damage under new paint.
In the end, it's only worth what someone's willing to pay. You are a collector of these cars, so what "you" would pay for it is very different from the average Joe. But it's good you throw your opinion in the ring on this subject. Mine isn't for sale, but there is a number in my head (whether or not someone would pay it) that I'd part with it for. But I won't advertise said number either, she isn't for sale
Cool channel shout out from the RGv the build for the shit box motivated me to get one and fix on my own I probably wouldn't of done it or got motivated without watching your channel thanks 💯 what I really liked is that you also have a some BMWs I had a 335i sadan was my baby need another one soon 👍
A lot of good points from someone who’s been in the fox mustang game for 30 years. I just picked up a very similar white ‘91 GT for $5k a couple months ago. Didn’t have the 5 lug swap but similar mods and a little rust nothing too bad but a pile of brand new parts came with it. Also agree on NPD. I give LMR and CJ Pony lots of business but some parts are significantly less expensive at NPD.
THANK YOU! People are over pricing these beautiful cars! Us FOX lovers appreciate these cars. He is exactly correct. When you buy theese cars to make them good, it cost 20 g and more. So consider all this
Yeah… your right about those junk door lock actuators from LMR… I went through 4 of them… I thought something was wrong with my door until I seen that you have had the same problem… not the first time you have mentioned it…lol
Whenever I see a fox that isn't show room condition but looks well maintained and actually gets driven, they always impress me more then the garage queens that do nothing but sit in a corner and collect dust just so the owner can collect a quick buck once the market for them peaks. Like yeah its cool seeing a mint car an all but then again, Its just so awesome seeing others like myself actually drive these things
In Toronto area rusted out high mileage running parts cars go for 3500-4000 depending year, mass air higher. I think at the moment the low end of running not rotted out is around 7-8k.
Just got a 1989 GT convertable for the son . Starts and runs , top goes up and down. $2000.00 . Gonna need a lot of work. But it is what it is . 33 years old. Were going through it mechanically, then focus on interior, then paint and body . I'm guessing he will have 10 to 12 thousand in it when he is done , but the good ones are going through the roof .
I recently bought a fox in canada for $5500 CAD about $4000 US. It was dark like you said so many little imperfections I had missed. It's not so easy to find them here in running driving condition. Stock original motor aside from cold air intake and custom exhaust. Interior fully converted to black leather looks better inside than on the outside. Body needs work but he threw in spare fenders and a clean hatch because my rear wheel arches and hatch are rusting. Rear bumper is cracked but he also threw in a clean bumper. It runs and drives very healthy motor and transmission. ROH wheels and brand new BFG tires. I'd say given the market I feel like I still got a good price. I talked him down from $7500 CAD. That said I do see why I got the price I did. I bought it as a project so it's the name of the game.
I’d be content with a healthy driver like that for $5500. No rust and I’m good to go. No cosmetic repairs for me, every penny towards performance. Just have fun!
We had a parts car that had one piece headlights in it… we re-enacted the scean from office space with the copy machine and took them out and beat them with a sledgehammer 😂
I’m saving my money and one day I hope you buy one from you! I love what your doing homie I’m 30 and growing up my brother had probably 10 different cars and I’ve seen a lot of them around but the price is crazy on them and there not up to what I think they are asking but in my eyes all ur cars a 100% up to Standards and I would die to owning one of ur cars in my dreams lol but I promise give me 5 years and I will have one lol I pray you are still doing this I’d die for one lol but keep up the videos I love the cars
Nailed it, I bought "3" b4 the prices went stupid!!! 1 for parts / sell & use on the 85 coupe I bought to keep & build and the other was such a nice car at a great price to clean up and sell!! Prices are Def coming down here in Virginia / east coast yet some are still way up.
great video ,,,,,my 91 lx 5 speed white with black interior all stock 49k miles ,original paint engine exhaust and all i did was put eibach springs and bilstein shocks , the car was evaluated at 28k last week ...i am original owner
How much should a good paint job cost on a fox I have a 91 gt black hood condition I’ve had it for 20 years and I’m getting quotes for $20,000 plus is that right?
So goes the old adage "you get what you pay for."It all depends on how good of a job you want & how much you want to spend or what your budget will allow.Good luck 🤞
Way too much money for just a paint job. If it was body work, fixing rust/dents, high quality paint ect.... It may cost up there. With that said you don't need to pay 20k for a nice paint job. Remove all the glass, trim and strip it yourself then have it painted to save money. 👍
You shouldn't be paying anymore than 5k for a good looking paint job imo. $20k is for paints like mystichrome and such. At the same time you get what you pay for. For example, $900 for a maco paintjob...your gonna get a $900 paint job. You could learn how to do it yourself and paint the car yourself like i plan on doing, but thats alot of work that i understand most people dont want to do
Two years ago the taillight lens fell off my 1985 GT as I drove into the Detroit area for the Woodward Dream Cruise. I noticed it was missing when I gassed up. I also recalled seeing the back of the NPD building from the highway just an exit back. I felt so lucky. How many places can you walk into and ask for a new taillight lens for a 1985 Mustang? Changed it out in the parking lot and enjoyed the cruise, not having to worry about law enforcement pulling me over. The salesman at NPD was super nice too.
The sunglasses were fine, they compliment the hat, seriously I heard about this on the pod, not problem, it's the content, I will wait for the elite and shitbox version. I am interested in seeing those NPD headlights out of the box and installed since I am in the market for a set in the spring.
Big fan of white fox bodies. Where would 4-8 swaps fall into place? Or cars that are low production colors? I switched to buying only 5.0 cars. And cars mostly from the south. A 20k car all painted and refreshed could be hiding a lot. Rather buy something that needs work bc I have parts cars and I know it was restored correctly. That car is a good starting point. I would say 7k today is fair. End of this year or next year is a different story. They are leveling off a little. The best cars to buy weather a project or complete is from someone like you. OCD. I can tell by the headlights comment. Keep the great content coming. Thanks!
My pinch welds were exactly the same as that one. Took me over an hour to pull them out. Still not perfect but getting there. You are right about the "hidden treasures ". I'm still finding them
I used those scott drake quarter windows in mine excellent excellent! Quality, i held 1 side by side with the original and the only difference is 1 doesn't say mustang
That plate under the clutch cable is a repair for a cracked firewall. Mine was so bad I couldn’t disengage the clutch. I was running a King Cobra clutch/ firewall adjuster and that combo was too much for a 250k mile car.
Spot on about mods. You can actually change it back to Orginal and get more then sell the after market parts and get some more. People want the perception it's factory when most likely not many Mustangs now a days are factory.
I am an orginal owner of a 1990 Mustang LX. (4 Cylinder) Not one mod. Well...silly me! When I ordered the darn thing all those years ago, I asked for a sunroof to be put in. So there's that. Other than that it's never been in an accident or hard driven. I'm the only driver. The mileage is 125,000. I've not had any problems with it, & always took pretty good care of it. As far as oil changes, etc. It's still got quite a bit of get-up-and-go. The car, unfortunately, has been sitting out in the weather when parked for about 10 yrs. Now I'm thinking of selling it. What's your ballpark on what I should ask? Just to compare what I've been told by a guy in the business?
Great vid. Very informative! 😀. I am an orginal owner of a 1990 Mustang LX. (4 Cylinder). (I live in Vancouver, Canada.) No modifications. (Well...silly me! When I ordered it all those years ago, I asked for a sunroof to be put in. So there's that. ) Other than that it's never been in an accident or hard driven. I'm the only driver. The km. is 125,000 The odometer (99,999) has only turned over once? I've not had any problems with it, & always took pretty good care of it. As far as oil changes, etc. It's still got a lot of pick-up (whatever that may have to do with it?). The car, unfortunately, has been sitting out in the weather when parked for about 10 yrs. (I live in an apartment with no underground parking.) So there is some cosmetic problems & all dash light are out. What a pain for night driving! No real rust to speak of. Just a couple tiny spots on the window frame on the side that used to face North.) Also, the clear coat looks like it has eczema. Lol 😢 Now I'm thinking of selling my baby?🤔 What's your ballpark on what I should ask? Just to compare what I've been told by a guy in the business? I'm watching videos on Fox body Mustangs to do my research but I'd like your professional opinion? I hope I'm not being presumptuous by asking? Please? 👋😀
Great video Chris. Loved your take on the market and having a car to respresent/demonstrate an average car. Lookin forward to the shitbox and elite videos too. Glad to know my car is well above average based on this one! One thing I gotta say is my anxiety was going off watching you run that car in an enclosed space! LOL 😂
I bought my vert for $11k. 91k documented miles and never wrecked. Bone stock and never modified. 5 speed shifts perfectly. Top works but needs help coming up. Converted to 134 and was overheating and bad voltage drop. I added a 3G and 3 row with E fans. He wants to buy it back for $20k lol
I have 1990 GT which I bought brand new. It has the 25 year anniversary badge stuck on beside the glove box. I don't lmagine many people have seen that. With my mods the car would need to be appraised but I would not take anything less than 15 grand.
Where do you typically order your aftermarket 3 piece headlights? Great video too by the way. I watch all your videos when i put my son to bed at night. Hes 1 and can say mustang
I think you are close. 2023 inflationary prices on everything , plus the 80’s surge. I’d say $7500 as crappy Malibu’s and Accords are more expensive. Good project car for someone.
great vid love your stuff do you have ties to Ontario Canada as I seen plates on some of your vids? iam from London Ontario I scored a sweet deal last yr on 59,000km all original with all the docs from new off the lot for 15k 1988 lx vert grey leather, medium shadow blue metallic paint, on the Marti auto report 1of 32 with paint and trim codes. thought this was a deal.
This is why I've been holding onto my "unmolested" Fox bodies and 3rd gens for a few decades, now. Eventually, they're gonna become old, scarce, and people are gonna want clean foundations for builds. edit: WHY do people put those damn ugly one piece headlights in? I know people really like that stuff... but I just don't see it! lol again edit: WOW!! I bought that same EXACT ebay cold air kit, about 20 years ago when I was putting together my 87 2.3t car! ...and those standoffs aren't the remains of an MSD ignition! ...it had a Crane Fireball HI-6 ignition. 😁
I have the opportunity to buy a 93 GT roller from a buddy for 1k, what do you think ? The motor and tranny was pulled for a different car along time ago that he raced.
I wish I could get you to broker a fox for me. It’s frustrating trying to find a decent car! Mine is clapped out and I feel like starting over with a different car
Disagree with the price… put it this way, if I was to reach out to you or anyone on Facebook marketplace seeking a cobra upper and lower intake, well guess what that’s an easy $1000.. the cobra breaks, the 5 lug swap $1000 , THE BLACK INTERIOR $1,000 , the SVE wheel kit on LMR are about $1,700 … there’s your $5,000 there alone.. not only that, it’s the infamous Foxbody that everyone knows about from import to American muscle car guys… not a 5k car IN MY OPINION… nice ride 👍🏽
These comments are not agreeing with the final decision so what’s up? What area you livin in? I’m curious about 4eye vs aero, is there a big price difference?
Foxes will never loose value there's just too much of a cult following now and there definitely getting trendy, so folks will still pay good money for average 5.0 cars cobras will always pull a premium also, once more people figure out how good the sn95s and new edges more people will just say ahh hell with it there to expensive and grab a sn95 or new edge sn95. Personally I love the early sn95s over the new edge but there both cool. I have a 95 gt vert and I feel other than the 32v cobras there the best of both worlds they have the beloved real 5.0 but the improved fox chassis and I just love the looks of a sn95 with a nice set of wheels that is factory rollers and those big ol rear wheelwells they look pretty goofie. I have 18x9 cobra (replicas) with 265/30r18 tires with 1.5" rear spacers and 1" in the front. Other than a ripping deal I would not bother with a 2v 4.6 I think there not worth it there expensive for even a small gain in performance and the price of a serious build easily exceeds a coyote, now 32v 4.6 cobras are just super cool and hopefully I can snag one before there price soars and they will, a 6 to $7k one a year ago is over $10k now...
"an SN-95 diff"? Putting an SN95 differential inside a Fox 8.8 axle housing wouldn't cause the wheels to stick out. The "differentials" are the same. You mean an "SN95 AXLE HOUSING." No way to tell what differential is in the axle housing without opening it up.
This video is spot on! Glad your serving justice for our community lol
Lol
Zero chance of buying a car like that for 5 grand. ZERO
I agree. Rust and rot free, running and driving fox… up in the Northeast you aren’t touching that for $5000. If I had a guess this car would be $10k ish up here.
@@brianpulaski5396 yep 10k
Agreed.thats a 10k car easy in CT
I'll give him 5500 right now. 500 over "market"

Man, this made me feel pretty good about the 92 I bought last April. $5k, bone stock, 1 owner, and in great shape!
Please tell me where u found it
@@mustbejah9396 Just got lucky and found it on cargurus!
Im luky, last year got a 93 GT convertible stick shift nice ,12 year in garage just for $2,500 here in the bay area Martinez Ca.
The metal plate is to add support to the fire wall. Some end up flexing in that area from the clutch pedal
You can't buy that car for $5000 in Texas anywhere. My Guess, would be around $8k to $10K ballpark. The fox prices are still very high. Just got a 92 gt vert 82,000 orginal miles needed a fuel tank and exhaust. $3500.

I paid too much for mine but it was worth it for lower mileage and being orginal and unmolested besides some high school kid quality speaker wiring
All priced around 10k from Virginia up to NYC, 5k would be a home-run. Haven’t t negotiated on any yet though.
All about bringing cash to a car deal!
Paid 6K for mine in CT. Not as clean as this one but still a good driver. I've since dumped another 12K in it. Could have some it cheaper though.

8-10 years ago you could buy these for $3500 all day long.... Now I agree, even with expensive mods. They're worth 5-10k. And I want one damnit!
I really need black replacement hatch panels. As a youth I cut on mine for stereo install in the 90's... uff
In today’s market in Canada….that’s an $8k to $9k car. Not to say that it should be that high. It’s just what everyone selling thinks it’s worth.
Ya and that's not far off after conversion!
Where do you typically order your aftermarket 3 piece headlights? Great video too by the way. I watch all your videos when i put my son to bed at night. Hes 1 and can say mustang
Mustang so high in NC you lucky get roller for $5000.That car be $10,000 in NC.
The doors close nice, better than what I adopted 😂
I think you are close. 2023 inflationary prices on everything , plus the 80’s surge.
I’d say $7500 as crappy Malibu’s and Accords are more expensive.
Good project car for someone.
Great video. I’m in the market to get one late this year or early next. I should be ok to find one I think. Subbed
great vid love your stuff do you have ties to Ontario Canada as I seen plates on some of your vids? iam from London Ontario I scored a sweet deal last yr on 59,000km all original with all the docs from new off the lot for 15k 1988 lx vert grey leather, medium shadow blue metallic paint, on the Marti auto report 1of 32 with paint and trim codes. thought this was a deal.
Clean rollers are 5k. I would put this 8500ish and up, the AC stuff looks all new as well.
Great video. Totally unrelated but what brand 2-post lifts do you run?
Tuxedo
Nice content thanks. I must have over paid for mine but one was in the neighborhood so I scooped it up!
I have a completely stock 91 gt I got it 20 years ago my insurance company said a nice 91 mustang a 1,500.00 car max.
How much is an oem h pipe and oem catback worth of these cars?
Always great content, yeah some of prices are crazy, but what ones think the value is and what ones are
willing to buy is always off.
This car in Vancouver area would unfortunately be around $12-$15. Even with the rear wheels sticking out 3"
This is why I've been holding onto my "unmolested" Fox bodies and 3rd gens for a few decades, now. Eventually, they're gonna become old, scarce, and people are gonna want clean foundations for builds.
edit: WHY do people put those damn ugly one piece headlights in? I know people really like that stuff... but I just don't see it! lol
again edit: WOW!! I bought that same EXACT ebay cold air kit, about 20 years ago when I was putting together my 87 2.3t car! ...and those standoffs aren't the remains of an MSD ignition!
...it had a Crane Fireball HI-6 ignition. 😁
I can't snag one for $5K but I will stay patient
I have the opportunity to buy a 93 GT roller from a buddy for 1k, what do you think ? The motor and tranny was pulled for a different car along time ago that he raced.
Rust free? Buy it
I wish I could get you to broker a fox for me. It’s frustrating trying to find a decent car! Mine is clapped out and I feel like starting over with a different car
Welp I guess I ain’t ever selling my Foxbody, thanks a lot Chris😀
I’m offended by your sarcastic average Foxbody gauges comment 😂 how dare you. It’s not even that average there’s no monster tach 😂
Well now you got me there LMAO
Awesome informative video 💯
Hey Mann how much would you sell the mustang saleen I’d be very interested
The SSC clone. 10k firm as-is
Here I was thinking my stock 4 cats and all 5.0 t5 vert was your average fox
Disagree with the price… put it this way, if I was to reach out to you or anyone on Facebook marketplace seeking a cobra upper and lower intake, well guess what that’s an easy $1000.. the cobra breaks, the 5 lug swap $1000 , THE BLACK INTERIOR $1,000 , the SVE wheel kit on LMR are about $1,700 … there’s your $5,000 there alone.. not only that, it’s the infamous Foxbody that everyone knows about from import to American muscle car guys… not a 5k car IN MY OPINION… nice ride 👍🏽
I bet he payed 10000
I haven't seen a fox body that cheap in the Seattle area for years in that condition over here that car would be a minimum of 7500 to 10000.
I am sure it’s going to turn out real nice
Nice, thank you!
Let me know if he wants to sell those grey seatbelts! My Vert needs them badly
These comments are not agreeing with the final decision so what’s up? What area you livin in? I’m curious about 4eye vs aero, is there a big price difference?
anyone know what kind of wheels those are, they look great
Great topic and explanation! Will definitely help those just getting into the Foxbody game!
Hell thats a great car!!!! Drive it blow it up, do it again!!!!👍👍👍
Only about halfway through this video I realized my 90 Gt is worth about $263.27 minus depreciation of course. Hurts my feelings to be honest 😂
Funny part about this is some clown on marketplace would put this car for sale at 25k because he caught wind that foxbodys have gone up in value.
In CA people would be asking like $13k for that car, Some in even worse condition. Its absolutely ridiculous.
Asking VS Paying are 2 different things though.
You can’t even get a roller for 5k. I don’t see decent ones like this for less than 12k in my area
A car like that shape here in south thexas are overpriced at least 9 to 10k😮💨
9 months ago….now fox body is like 20-25k
5000 hahaha yeah right. Foxbodys with bad motora listed for 5k everywhere. Convertibles. Automatics. You name it
Yea good luck trying to find that car for 5000$ here in california
You forgot to mention what the interior looks like, it could be stock or a complete disaster.
Went through 2 sets of those actuators and just gave up
We need some Supernewf action!!!!!!🐺
I'd love to see an episode of 'Shitboxes of 2023'
LMAO
You want to sell that white foxbody GT behind you
"an SN-95 diff"? Putting an SN95 differential inside a Fox 8.8 axle housing wouldn't cause the wheels to stick out. The "differentials" are the same. You mean an "SN95 AXLE HOUSING." No way to tell what differential is in the axle housing without opening it up.
5k is right, given all the imperfections, missing original parts and crap condition.
