It was marvellous to watch, but Gork and Mork (we'll mostly Mork actually) is where my allegiance sits, so that it was brilliant watching the multiple double turns, but horrible watching those wooden things running away then materialising somewhere else. Some might call it cowardly, others might call it smart (I wouldn't) and some might call it not meeting the battle on the field (or glade) for an honest fight. Not that I respect anyone that kills the Orc Warchanter... 🤔
Such a difficult looking army to master! I think I would love the strategy needed to maneuver the field like this.

Really, really love the openings with the army showcases. It's really nice to get a good look at these fantastically painted miniatures.

I am impressed with how MWG is evolving to keep up with the changing quality and standards of bat reps. Also, fun game to watch, someone needs to tell Kragnos that words can cut deeper than swords.
The production effort recently done on the army clips is very appreciated.
And those Sylvaneth models looked great!

Just getting into the hobby and thanks for these battle reports. You guys are fun to watch and make the hobby look less intimidating.
I would like to make to observations if I may. The first one Heroic Willpower only allows you to dispel or unbind, it doesn't lets you use the endless spell as it was mentioned.
The second one is the pile in move it can only be done if an enemy is within 3" or if the unit made a charge.
One of the best things about Gnarlroot is that all of the units reroll 1s to hit in combat AND shooting when wholly within 12" of a wizard. Because of this Drycha should have been able to reroll all those ones when she used Unleash Hell.

Matt forgot to do Kragnos bellow of rage at the end of the first shooting phase after taking damage from the Kurnoth Hunters

The production quality has definitely improved!
The dryads would have their +4 save for all those saves. The attacks happen simulataneously so you don't just miss a save and then roll a worse save.

I believe the recent FAQ clarified that if you lose and retake one of the objectives on this mission it counts as consecutive as long as it’s your turns

Are you guys as big fans of AoS 3.0 as my gaming group? We've had multiple (think over 10) players convert from 40k, and even some old timers who haven't played WHFB since 5th edition start playing again! I didn't start playing WHFB until 4th edition, so I must say I'm shocked to actually be loving this Hero Hammer rebirth!

You missed the Treelord Ancient's Impale ability in Turn 4, If impaling talons inflicts a wound you roll a dice and if it exceeds the number of remaining wounds it kills the model. Would have meant 1 more unit dies.

Can someone explain that weird charging rule that the megaboss did with 25 mortal wounds. I don't understand what happened there and can seem to find anything in the battle time that talks about that.
The ability that did the 25 mortal wounds during the charge phase was from Kragnos, not the Megaboss. The ability is called Rampaging Destruction. Hope that helps!

How does the warchanter give 3 units plus1 damage? It says 1 unit on battlescribe for me
Can someone explain to me please. At 1:15:00 If the ironjaw megaboss gains 1 wound to its wound characteristic but doesn't heal a wound. Why still does he go from having 17 of 18 wounds to 18 of 19 wounds. That is healing 1 wound is it not?
not sure if my math is wrong but when i put the lists through warscroll builder the ironjaws equals 2435pts and the sylaneth equals 1990pts am i missing something?
For some reason Warscroll Builder has Ardboys as 160 pts when they're only supposed to be 85! Matt brought a lot of Ardboys

In interests of consuming the content faster I watch these at 1.5x speed. This also VASTLY increases how likely I am to actually laugh at the noises/voiceovers that are contained in the video.
The dryad's should have their improved save until the end of the attack sequence. No models are removed until end of the sequence. So only 2 dryad's should have died.

Dont all models in a brutes unit have to be equipped with the same weapon?
Getting answer a year later.
Answer is yes they all have to have either Brute choppas or Gore hacka, BUT one per five can have Gore-choppa and the boss can choose between two different weapons as well. So basically three have the same weapon and the other two can have different.

@@tjcliff1 Not in 3rd edition. Page 253, 4.1 Priority Roll: "In the event of a tied priority roll, do not roll off again. Instead, if it is the first battle round, the player who finished deploying their army first has priority." :)
@@maltenybirk7261 That's true, unless you're using the General's Handbook 2021, which gives the choice to the player who finished deployment first. If there is a tie, then there is a roll-off. This was a Pitched Battles game, as opposed to the Contest of Generals found in the Core Book.
@@maltenybirk7261 It is in 3.0 - it's just specific to matched play. Check the generals hand book 2021 - the rule is called stealing the initiative.

Strange that core rules and GH would differ on that, but good to know 🤓
More and more, I don’t like the double turn mechanics. So much hinges on a single die roll.

As Matt said: They dont follow the exact rules for terrainplacement.
They dont follow the rules for the game or mess up quite a bit.
