Phenomenal video and phenomenal talk! Edem you will be in my prayers! I also am a Junior in university (Virginia Tech) discerning the diocesan priesthood (Diocese of Paterson, NJ). It always is amazing to hear stories like yours that affirm that The Lord may be calling me to be His priest, as un-worthy as I am. Let us pray for more brothers who want to fight for Her Holy Church as diocesan priests, may St. John Vianney pray for us! And may we also pray for women to hear the call to be mothers of the Church as well, may Mary pray for them! Keep me in your prayers brother, there will be an amazing generation of priests and religious soon!!! Vivat Jesus!

People laugh when I say that Catholicism is the most "Metal" religion. Our God couldn't be contained by death, defeated Death, and strode into Hell and took their keys. And we keep the bones of the Champions of our Faith on display. I love being rebellious as a Catholic.

The most beautiful story about God's calling to the Priesthood I have listened to... thank you! I appreciate so much what you have said, especially the silence, the music of your choice and the beauty of the Catholic Mass... the liturgy and the heart beat of our Church, the Eucharist, the order etc. and much more, lovely!

I know this video is a year old . For what feels like over a year it seems I have prayed to obtain an answer, whether to stay with apologetics or enter into the priesthood. Last week I was reading passages in the gospel of John then went into Mass this past Sunday with the same exact passages and then came to some "conclusions" over the weekend and then with this video nailing on the same conclusions. I'm waiting for the fall to finish the applications for the priesthood.

Edem hit the nail on the head about poor Catholic formation. This is where the Neocatechumenal Way have it locked in. Catechism classes basically start from birth to death attendance is EVERY week. They have entire families who take "vows" to move somewhere on the planet with a priest to live and evangilze for a set period of time, it's like mormons except the whole family does the mission.

    • @timothy1168

@@timothy1168 The past 3 popes and the current approve the neo-cats. Their success with high number of priests and young taking vows as nuns is a testament to their success. They had teething problems but Benedict XVI responded with a stick and they complied.

Brad is right i learn in all my understanding that " Prayer "
is the thing you need to become a Saint , and im not talking just doing a daily Rosary which is the norm , but the Devil is not just goin to sit back and watch you bring down his empire down hes goin to fight you to your death bead until you stop praying sending you back into bondage .
If you want to grow or be in good standing we must continue to practice and Prayer is the Main thing thats goin to elevate you to become the Saint you were destined to .
Dr of the Church - Saint alphonsus liguori talks on prayer 11 hrs 😅
Detachment 🔎Dr st John of the Cross
11 hr video on how to detach step by step 🤯 that can scare many away .
Dont be scare is not an option just continue to pursue Sanctity and grow .
Theres always a way that can help the little way another Dr of the Church St Therese the little flower another option.

The idea of diocesan priests being isolated compared to religious orders, how do we help with that? Will we one day in the United States start to see monasteries popping up? I feel that that could be a huge support system.

Is anyone else aware that Edem was arrested for drunk driving in March of 2022?
Everyone makes mistakes but this timeline is shady to me, to be on a podcast hailed as a good example and candidate for priesthood while only a matter of months earlier commiting this crime and sin. Curious what the circumstances were. Obviously there can be forgiveness (duh, praise God!) But I am concerned for Edem's spiritual health.
Also, maybe I'm being nitpicky, but his LinkedIn profile needs updating. His cover photo looks like he is still recovering from his glamor days.
Edem, God bless you, but know this: spiritual power is not found in liturgies and sacraments. It comes from faith in Christ and the renewing power of the Spirit.
Rome needs reformed. Men standing on top of pillars are not saints. There is no spiritual benefit offered in asceticism (read Colossians- "do not handle etc). All of the members of Christ's church are saints by the mercy of God so long as we continue to the end.
    Blessings,
