Games are always won up front, backs can't do anything if the forwards don't win the battle. This is where Payne Haas needs to stand up and deliver because he's done nothing at Origin level. If it's not Tino targeting him it's Carrigan and they always limit his impact so Payne needs to show he can step up from club level and deliver at Origin level because he's never done it before. Spencer Leniu had more influence and impact in one game than Payne has shown his whole Origin career.
Hes had great performances and is up there with the best in current origin but obviously has gotten worked out recently by QLD so def needs to step up.
I would say the forward pack in NSW has been reasonably dominant, especially in G1 despite the send off.
Difference is Payne plays 40 more minutes than leniu, gets through a lot more than him. But I see what you’re saying
I agree and disagree. I think our forwards have won the battle for most games since Hass has been involved in the team. However, i do think he could lift even more and have a blinder.
I agree 100 percent, no matter how good your backs are, if the forwards no good the backs are screwed. Look at the Penrith with their top two, make it easy for their backs to attack
Blues middles need to dominate , blues halves hand to have a plan and run with it … Yeo needs to not act like a half amd run that ball amd straighten up the attack

Qld's strength is not about individual player but the who team collectively.
Players are picked to cover other positions.and origin as we know is a different beast altogether.
It may look good on paper but everyone must do their bits to relieve the pressure from this high octane environment.
This side is well balanced from the front which is where experience comes into play and the back line which is so lethal when it comes to speed.

This is the NSW problem…they look at individual names, believing a huge difference will be made to the TEAM. QLD look at building the overall TEAM through the hard work, heart and effort of the individuals.
By the way, looking back in the history of the origin tests the blues a no way near in the record despite the first test of this year shows the maroons are still the best, one good thing for the maroons is they don t boast so lets go maroons, still the best.

I thought Maguire had a method to why he picked the team he did. What happened to the method? It seems like he listened to all the critics. Queensland will blow them off the park and, once again, NSW will be left scratching their heads wondering how to play Origin.
