it's a nice laptop, but i don't trust the brand at all after the spyware incident. Have a nice day.
It was a specific batch of mini PC’s, I was aware of it. The first thing I did was run some scans. I figured they made a bad mistake, probably less likely to happen twice.
I found this article that offers an explanation

Saw this pos for fire sale on Black Friday on Amazon.
Just a word of warning when it comes to AceMagic products. The install of Windows they used (on their mini pc’s at least) had malware included, so it’s heavily suggested to do a fresh Windows install before first use.
That's a big deal
or just scrap it and move over to linux

@@leepspvideoI personally have 0% trust for that brand. I wouldn't be surprised at slightest I'd those have some rootkit in uefi level. Hard skip 😂
When I saw that "keyboard converter" I lost all confidence in the brand.
Arent AceMagic the ones that got caught shipping malware with their mini pcs?

Crap keyboard solution and full of malware. It's a no from me. Surprised (and disappointed) to see you recommend something like this tbh.

@@leepspvideo Are you sure that's the right link? I see you've copy pasted the same response about half a dozen times, but I don't see what a link for Raspberry Pi software has to do with it?
😳 Yep, should have been this link

@@leepspvideo Stinks of CCP governmental spyware and they're doing damage limitation because they got caught.
How about a follow up video on whether these shipped with the free virus or not. As I understand currently shipping products are virus free. Instead of having a free virus.
No extra free gifts for me

Big "nope" to this laptop (as other comments alude to).

hard to believe a keyboard overlay is an acceptable solution!!
I didn’t think about it after I fitted it. Time will tell as to how well it will wear. My wife will be using it. It’s way faster than her current laptop. She types a lot more than I do.
I think it speaks of the brand quality you can expect. I'd rather just tippex over the keys. It’s only a few keys affected.
It needs to be really cheap.
Thanks Lee for this review, but I think the Windows malware problem has to be resolved before purchasing.
Have a great day!

There are android auto builds for the rpi that are not lineage or asop! I just thought of this. Imagine a android auto device without the need for an android 😂
Please install Linux and test all hardware. Thanks.
Please test with a Linux distro. Thanks.
UK Amazon reviews for this laptop are OK, but Spanish Amazon reviews of the same laptop are very bad, showing problems with flickering screens (there are videos you can see), with laptops stopping booting, etc. It seems they have a quality control problem.
7:18 LOOK AT TAYLOR SWIFT!!! ❤❤❤
Nope nope nope
When it comes to using Bluestacks on a touch screen, it can be "touchy" (pun intended)
The on-screen controls are hidden because the game is set to hide them on emulators, similar to running Call of Duty: Mobile on GameLoop or Bluestacks.
Some games let you un-hide the controls, but games like Call of Duty do not
395 for a noname n95 laptop , thats madness currently have a asus ryzen 5 16gb in wishlist for less lol
Good video. my opinion hmm.. save your money spend more get something better, get a refurbished thinkpad.
I have a think pad that's over 10 years old 2011, never missed a beat, more powerful than a pi4, not as powerful as a pi5. a very good purchase experience.
Wish they offered this spec in 13,14,15 models too....
Or even dell are doing a ryzen 7 16gb for 379
bummer on the single channel ram 😞
A Intel N100 with DDR5 is a bit faster. And there seem to be offers for it with about the same price. Some have 'only' 12 Gb , but in most cases that's enough.
I just bought the laptop. It is cheap enough. :)
Hardware wise seems very good. Couldnt help but notice how loud the trackpad was though. Certainly compared to a macbook. I'm guessing it's because its plastic. But for the price, seems like a great deal.
Yes, it does have a bit of a clunk compared to my MacBook. I had an Acer at one point that made the same sound when you do the soft touch rather than the click.
I don't believe in magic.
Everyone here is writing about some malaware accident with this brand in the past. But for me as for Linux user it sounds like a joke... First thing I would do with this laptop it is to divide SSD at least to 3 disks and install Linux to the last one. So, two disks for Windows and Linux and one disk for information saving. It is kind of obvious that the disk with information should be separate. At list for me...
There's always also possibility of uefi level rootkit. Which I wouldn't be surprised at slightest considering their history.
Lol
🙋
You did a great job selling me on this laptop. Acemagic should send you other models to review too
Impressive
