Hi. We will transfer from Terminal 3 to T5 with 2 hours 5mins. layover. You took the other direction. Maybe the same Coming back from Prague to the US we will land in T3 and will just stay in the same terminal to the US. You walked past a very long line just by changing gates. We will have a 4 hour layover so I think it will be fine.A very nice and clear video.

Great post.....We have been in Heathrow many times and know how confusing it can be. We are flying into Heathrow on BA arriving in Terminal 3 at 6:40AM in October. After booking this flight we decided to go to Berlin for a few days. Since I can not add to this locator number without paying excessive fees we are now booking a separate flight to Berlin on BA out of Terminal 3 (at 10:50 AM or 12:30PM.) We have been told to ask the agent if they would book our luggage all the way to Berlin when leaving Miami but there is no guarantee that they will do that. If they do I assume we can use the "airport" side transport to Terminal 3 like the transfer passengers do. At least I hope we can. If they will not book our luggage all the way through we will have to go through immigration after we land...collect our luggage...and then get to Terminal 5 for the next flight. Is that correct? Is there an easy way to do this? Will a taxi take us if we wanted (I know many are looking for longer distance trips.) I have 2 hip replacements and I know the walking in Heathrow is extensive. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Yes if they won't check your luggage all the way on the same ticket, you will need to clear immigration, collect your bags and then head to terminal 5, check them in again and go back through security again. Unfortunately there is no other way to do that unless the agent checks the bags all the way.
Thank you. I am going to leave a 4 hour window in case we have to do that. I know once I book a later flight we will probably get someone to check the luggage all the way through. We have at least 2 large suitcases since we are going on a cruise out of Southhampton the following week. If they don't book our luggage through I will leave some at the airport if they still offer that service. If we have to travel with both suitcases I hope a taxi will take us to the next terminal so we don't have to drag these on a train or bus. Thank you again.
Quick question, when you eventually went through security, was it the same security everyone else uses or a specific one for connections? My point being a much faster queue or could you easily get stuck there and miss the connection? I've got 90 mins to make the transfer but it's less really as gates close 20 mins early.
I have the same question but from what I think, to go into departures you just scan your boarding pass then you go through a sperate security. But i'm not 100% sure.

Assuming there’s no delays, is this enough time to make the flight? Important information, I have hand luggage only and my ticket was booked through an online seller and LBA to LHR is British Airways and LHR to DFW is American Airways. Do I just follow purple signs? How long do you think it will take to get off the flight and to the gate? If you have an EU passport, exciting the terminal could be one option, if non EU then it could take a while depending on your arrival time into T5 to clear immigration. 90 mins is cutting it tight doing that. The transfer from T5 to T3 is really easy you should be fine.

Yes that is plenty of time. Minimum connection time needed is about 1 hour and 30 minutes, so you have plenty of time. I have done the T5 to T3 connection in 30 minutes before.
We will be changing from BA to Virgin Atlantic, going from T5 to T3. We have to collect our hold baggage from BA and book in again at Virgin Atlantic. Can I take my hold luggage on the shuttle bus?

Hello sir, I hope I can ask you a few questions as I am traveling from Amsterdam Schiphol(Finnair) to Heathrow to Charlotte, NC(American Airlines) in the US. I have no ticket or anything yet saying what terminal I have to be on and such. But my question is; does my luggage automatically go to the next plane after getting off. Or do I have to pick it up and drag it and check in again? How exactly does that work. And how do I know if I even have to go to another Terminal? If you are flying from AMS to LHR it will be operated by British Airways and arrive into Terminal 5, then just following the connection signs to T3 as ALL American flights leave from T3. When you check in with BA in AMS you can ask them to check you all the way as they have a baggage agreement between them and your bag should go all the way to CLT. I hope that helps.

Does this work with checked luggage too? I had a friend tell me that if I have checked luggage I will need to pass through immigration, collect my luggage, go through customs, and then re-check my luggage. I am connecting from T5 (BA) to T2 (BA operated by Aer Lingus).

I know that walking around the Bath road near all the hotels is great for spotting, I have never tried to spot from within T3 though.
Myrtle Avenue is a good place for spotting. So is T2 Departures.

It's pretty quick, just take the transfer bus and go to security, takes around 5 minutes to clear in most cases for me.

I have no ticket or anything yet saying what terminal I have to be on and such. But my question is; does my luggage automatically go to the next plane after getting off. Or do I have to pick it up and drag it and check in again? How exactly does that work. And how do I know if I even have to go to another Terminal? I love this video and will definitely use it if I need it. Thank you in advance and thank you for this upload!
If you are flying from AMS to LHR it will be operated by British Airways and arrive into Terminal 5, then just following the connection signs to T3 as ALL American flights leave from T3.
When you check in with BA in AMS you can ask them to check you all the way as they have a baggage agreement between them and your bag should go all the way to CLT.

When I Travel The World hello, im travelling from belfast city airport(BHD) to lagos, but we departing belfast at 19:20 pm to get to LHR at 20:40 as its connecting flight, and the den changeover is 1HR50MINS to change to T3.... do you think that’s enough time to change over to T3 with 1HR50MINS ?

I'm wondering. . . I arrive at T5 then catch another round trip flight put of T3. This isn't a connecting flight. Just a whole new flight ariving from Paris and leaving for Dubai the same night. Does this work with checked luggage too? I had a friend tell me that if I have checked luggage I will need to pass through immigration, collect my luggage, go through customs, and then re-check my luggage. I am connecting from T5 (BA) to T2 (BA operated by Aer Lingus).

This video is an airside connection. You don't go through security until you reach your final destination.
