I have an idea, you could go through each team and their history through every decade, like the Celtics era in the 60s then the 70 and 80s and you can do this for each century
I love those Pistons Team back then. Especially Big Ben. Dude was a defensive powerhouse and could even defend or hold Prime Shaq to a human level 😅, which I thought back then was impossible
One of my favorite big man I grew up watching. The 2004 Pistons was a powerhouse because of their defense and I grew up watching them and became one of my favorite teams. Thanks for the video about Ben Wallace. ❤
One of the greatest big men in the game. The heart and soul of those 2000s Pistons. I had the pleasure to play NBA 2k5 ft him on the cover #BigBenWallace
A video of Big Ben of course I'm gonna watch it. Being considered in the MVP voting while averaging less than 10 points per game speaks a lot about his impact on the game and his importance for the Pistons during that early 2000s. Besides averages are just numbers, no one can argue about the results and the success he brings to his team.
After Rodman my Favorite Rebounder ... Best Help Defender ...which to me, yes yes, is what basketball is first about ...whatever size you are ...the most vacant spots on a team is for the best help defenders ...in Big Bens case it was a Forward acting as a Center ...but with kids it's about point guards thinking as centers ... Am Football is the other half of all this
I remember when Grant Hill was traded. He obviously wasn’t Jordan but he was ridiculously talented with the Pistons. With him they were up-and-coming but he walked to build a super team with Tracy McGrady and it felt like that rise was over. The anger I felt seeing a full-page photo ad in the sports section paid for by Hill saying “Thanks for the memories Detroit!” I was a dockporter on Mackinac Island when I saw that and crumpled the paper up, told people around me that the Pistons would win a title before the Magic and beat Hill in the process. I had no idea how, nor was I convinced that they actually would do it! I watched every game of the rise of Ben Wallace and the progression of the Pistons all the way to the 2004 title. It was absolutely amazing. Ben was a revelation. One of my favorite athletes ever in any sport. The narrative today is that it was a shock that the Pistons beat LA but it wasn’t at all. At least not to my friends and I who watched every game back then. That team knew that they would eventually have to beat them and figure out a way to slow down Shaq if they wanted to win the title. Every time they faced LA in the regular season they were trying different strategies. The most common highlight played is Ben blocking Shaq when Shaq was with Miami. My favorite Shaq block by Ben was late in the 2004 regular season when they finally found the right combo. Mehmet Okur bodied Shaq just long enough to let Ben come over with his help side defense. Ben got the block and that was it! After that block I knew they could win. Those Pistons were defensive tacticians and once they figured out an angle to beat you at something they’d just hammer you with it. Great video, thanks for the memories. The Pistons of today need to watch this to see how Detroit basketball teams win championships: DEFENSE!!!
Ben is way better. Rodman played in a weaker era. NBA has gotten much better in the era Wallace played. If Wallace played in rodman era he would’ve been very similar to Moses malone
Ben Wallace is probably in my opinion the greatest defender ever because of what he was able to do at the 5 spot being undersized and how he replaced fan favourite Grant Hill and still took them to a title
Ben Wallace knew his value would peak following the 2004 finals and decrease with age. Makes sense he would switch to the Bulls. Could it have been handled better? Yes. Was it blown out of proportion? Most definitely.
Thanks, fun fact, I want met the one and only Amar’e Stoudemire himself at Yankees game in Yankee Stadium. The night before I graduated high school, Yankees won the game, I got selfie with him, and it was the best night of my life!!! A night I’ll never ever forget!!!
@@johnnick775he never became a superstar and people considered him the next mj, it’s unfair tbh but yeah it was never a bad player it sucks he got labeled that way at least now he has a cool redemption story though
I’m a Jewish guy, Israel has been surprised attack by the Hamas this past weekend and declared war with them after they (the hamas) killed so many Jews, wounded so many Jews, and kidnapped so many Jews. And Amar’e Stoudemire who converted into a Jew shows that he supports Israel. So please, if you really respects his career, you’ll do an nba timeline video on him, and i think it’ll make me feel better as I pray for my Jewish people in Israel. That was a nightmare what the hamas did.
Elite Defenders and rebounders are absolute problems. Even more than scorers. Scoring is exciting and entertaining but defenders are absolutely frustrating. TV cant translate how exhausting physically and mentally it is to deal with them.

Defensive beast!
Defied the odds. Absolute legend. Regardless of being undrafted or not, even if he was a lottery pick, that’s a legendary career.
Hall-of-fame career indeed!
He went to a small school...only reason he was not drafted
That 2004 Pistons team. Their defense was incredible. Truly a team that played with pure heart. Ben Wallace is a legend with or without a championship

Defensive beast!
Big Ben was a monster! If he was a little bit better at the offensive end and averaging like 15 to 17 he would've won at least one MVP.
And especially with how he played defense. Definitely MVP considerations serious ones this time
Definitely man!
Big Ben was 6'9 with the afro and he gave Shaq the WORK
Defensive beast!
My favorite player of all time!
When Ben was inducted I was truly truly happy for him and shocked 😮. I felt like a proud little brother
Very well-deserved!

Very impactful man
One thing your forgot to add, even in his declining phase, when he went to the Bulls, they immediately become the number one defense
Thanks for this info
BIG BEN is one of the reasons why the Detroit pistons won a title in 2004 a block machine
No doubt man
63-62 final score is nasty work
Bruising defense
Ben Wallace is the true definition of Defense
