I like it, does it hold up to decent wind? I made a umbrella mount from a tip of a galvanized ground rod welded to a piece of emt conduit, so you can drive it into hard ground with your foot if needed and use a beach umbrella from Lowes in it.
So far it's been good, haven't had it in any serious wind, but I generally use it for the sun. I'm in SC so working on a AC unit during the day can be brutal
I know its for the sun lol just wondered if a good wind would take it down, gets windy here in Florida, not sure it would hold on.
@@Carnivorefitness2024 The magnet is very strong, so it definitely wouldn't come off the unit or whatever you had it stuck to. Now would the top part flip inside out ? That's a possibility, but I see alot of hvac guys using them on roofs when working on roof top units and they don't seem to have any issues. I think that umbrella is awesome and i would definitely buy another one if something happened to mine
I just received my supco trade Fox magnetic umbrella. Can you tell me what the thread lock and the lanyard is for not much instructions on the box

It's nice but where do you put it if a compressor has to be changed I use a beach umbrella just stick it in the ground and away I go
Good question! Nice thing about my property where all my condensers are located, we have a little 4 foot wooden fence that surrounds the condensers so i can put it on that.
What that little thread knob is for above where you tighten it to the base??? Also the threadlock???
I believe the little black knob above where you tighten the base is to help hold the umbrella in the base. Once you tighten the top knob it secures it enough that I never use the smaller knob your referring to. Atleast that's what I believe it's there for, otherwise I don't know or don't see a reason why it would be there. As for the thread lock, your guess is as good as mine. I guess if your going to put the base on it & not take if apart you can use the thread lock. But I've had the umbrella a few AC seasons now & it was a great purchase that I would definitely buy again if something ever happened to mine.
