The good thing about it being cheap is that if you don't like certain parts, change them out! A budget of $500 is more than enough to make it almost like a Custom Shop for 4x cheaper.
Alot of Fender telecasters are heavy as well.. My original 1974 Telecaster Custom is a heavy chunk of Ash wood... Even my 2007 Baja is medium weight... The current Squire 52s weigh a ton with their pine bodies....
I have this same guitar now for 4 years and love it still. I swapped the tuners for the same style Wilkinsons and had to enlarge the holes slightly with a reamer. Also added a Wilkinson bridge with brass saddles. Nothing wrong with the stock bridge but I like brass saddles and there was hardly any difference in price. Also have te62 which is also great and not so heavy but still prefer the te52. I also have a G&L tribute asat which is heavier than this but is also a great guitar.

@@h.youngvalley.3681 Exactly 100% as for $150 if you were to buy for example a Squier Sonic Telecaster , your getting a substandard guitar compared to the HB why ? well firstly the body of the TE52 is the same thickness as a real Telecaster and weighs more so thats good and secondly its made of Ash which is much nicer than Poplar wood and thirdly the fit and finish of the HB is better too as trust me i bought a Sonic Tele off Amazon and had to send it back as the frets were overlapping the edge of the fretboard thus trapping the high E string every time i strummed it and the neck pocket at the side was cracked which is not good on a brand new guitar , so i will get a HB instead as they are more consistent and the guitars are usually set up better too.
