Short answer: The Simpsons are clones. They get periodically replaced, and given updated memories. Hence why Homer can be an adult in the 80's and a teen in the 90's. And the more characters get "xeroxed" the more they start to degrade.
And this is only conjecture, but I think Kang and Kodos are the ones cloning all the Springfieldians, perhaps as a galactic version of The Truman Show.
i really like how this theory gives an in universe explanation for stuff like the main family getting so flanderized over the years and marges voice changing so much
Here's my thought. When itchy and scratchy gets cancelled due to lack of funds there are 2 characters who get it back into production Chester and Eliza who look exactly like the old Simpsons. Perhaps they both exist in the cannon and our Simpsons family killed them eventually and buried them in Springfield keeping a family secret
Matt was originally going to do life is hell, but changed it to the Simpsons. The Simpsons are all named after his family, except Abe who he claimed on a DVD commentary was left to a poll to name and they chose Abe which was his Grandfather's name. Bart was an anagram of Brat and was meant to be him. However he said later he associate himself with Homer more.
I think that there are 3 versions of the Simpsons. The ones alive, under the house and under the power plant. This would explain why ghost marge didn't have flowers on her dress and Bart Was wearing a red shirt instead of a blue one.
Just a little detail I noticed while watching one of the later seasons of the Simpsons: In one episode (I don’t remember which one) Homer goes to a building and does a voice authentication by saying his name in his regular modern voice. The box tells him his voice did not match how it was from the 1980’s. Homer then did his old Tracy Olman voice (sorry if I misspelled that) and he is let in.
I bet Monty burns overworked the old Simpsons and when they died he buried them under the plant then the newest Simpsons came from an alternate universe to take place and every time the Simpsons die in treehouse of horror etc. they bring in new ones from that universe
But Springfield and even the whole world gets destroyed in multiply episodes (+ the people of Springfield die or get turned into Zombies etc). How do you explain, that?
Flanders killed Homer in a fit of rage when Homer stole one of his things. Seeing the Simpsons seemingly come back to life, he's frightened into being a kindly pushover towards Homer from then on. It's kind of the reverse of what happened with George McFly.
Or what if the couch gags are just glimpses into the other time lines or maybe prof. Frink had made clones of the family if something happen like he he did in one the episodes iñvolving the future
Can you do a theory about Richard and Lewis who were supposed to be big characters but as Nelson became more of a friend to Bart than an enemy and as Milhouse got a bigger role, Richard and Lewis became very minor characters. But maybe they could of done something with them?
My theories 1. The older Simpsons mutated by radiation into their current forms 2. Springfield is a Life on Mars style fantasy reality/Matrix where you get occasional glitches, such as Chief Wiggum's changing hair, Smithers' changed skin tone etc. There are occasional breaks (such as Barney quitting drinking) in order for there to be enough change to distract from this reality loop. 3. Tibor did it. 4. Some say that we have been fooled and this show actually implants subliminal messages but I say that's a load of rich creamery butter.
Thanks Rob, I love your theories. I think 1 makes alot sense. Especially if you consider the Power Plant as well. If it can gives fish an extra eye, why not. & poor Tibor haha 😆
It was Ralph! Ralph used a cloning machine at his dad's work to clone them, but it was still being workshopped, so in the process the original simpsons died. So, he takes the new cloned Simpsons, who are slightly different from the original, and brings them back to the house. Ralph then takes the original Simpsons and buries them under the house. This is why he sucks his thumb, because of emotional scarring.
Wasn't it shown that while house shopping, there was a murder that happened in the house in one episode? Anyways, many characters have changed over the years. Look at Moe. His hair used to have more color, now it's grey. I wonder if it could be the stress of dealing with something that might have inspired Hotline Miami.
In Rick and Morty, when they 'Cronenberged' their timeline Rick just drove himself and Morty to a timeline where they fixed it and killed the originals...maybe that's what happened to the original Simpsons...? The Simpsons did something so heinous (worse than in the film) that they couldn't live in their timeline so they stole a Dimension Bending Reality Device from Professor Frink and went into the reality we know and killed the original family and assumed their lives...that's probably why they have been getting progressively stranger as they get more comfortable in their assumed lives...
There's one thing this disproves this entire theory. In season 18's Homerazzi, Bart, Homer, and Lisa recreate their "Happy New Year 1987" photo that was destroyed during a house fire. Of course, since they said 1987, the family contort their faces to resemble their Tracey Ullman counterparts. Why would they have a picture of a bunch of dead people they didn't know about in their photo album?
I love this channel and the simpson i recommend this channel and the simpson for those who still not watching simpson watched is the greatest show ever
I may have something. So... In other videos, you talked about alternate characters (Guy Incognito, Mr. Snrub, Lester and Eliza and such). What if the current Simpsons are actually one of those alternate selves that got into Springfield and bought the old Simpson's house. Another theory would be that the Ullman version and the Modern version are separated but have the same events. But what if, in the Ullman version, Sideshow Bob had the same treatment as in the main timeline, but he manage to kill the Simpsons !
1st like! Yes a brand new video! And this one looks so interesting! I read the description and I know which clip your talking about with the original Simpsons buried under the next incarnation's home, I saw that in one episode in the past and I'm curious about how! Now I'm hoping that you have found the answer to that! Can't wait to see the video, Lydia!
Thanks Toonager! Yes I was thinking about the original Simpsons buried under the house and knew I had to make a video on it. I havnt seen anyone else talk about it much online
@@TheSimpsonsTheory I just watched your video and I loved it! Sorry I missed the premiere of it. I believe it was Bart who killed the original Simpsons because do you remember when we thought about Bart being the one who created The Simpsons? I believe this was his way of discarding the original Simpsons and replacing them with his newer family or as in reality, Matt Groaning redesigning the family slightly and replacing The Tracy Ullman Show Simpsons. Again, great video, Lydia! It explained a lot of this theory that was on my mind!😀👍
Wait.... If there were alternate realitys in the Simpsons would each couch gag just be a different universe?, due to things being very odd and different in couch gags, some people even die in them :/
I think they existed in the main canon and were killed by a natural disaster or something along those lines, the house was rebuilt but the original family remained missing because they were buried underneath Springfield due to the tragic event. The new family move into the rebuilt house without knowing about the original family.
And I'm back catching up on all your latest videos 😁 really enjoyed this one. Definitely loving the multi verse theory. Maybe the new Simpsons are from a different universe and found them selfs in a different universe and killed the originals🤔 the possibilities. Great video Lydia x
In the same episode we see their animal versions that also apeared in another treehouse horror episode. That could mean each one of them is from a diferent universe makeing them all canon in a multiverse perspective
I remember watching the original sketches at the end of the Tracy Ullman show when they first aired. Fox was a new channel and they were pushing the boundaries of network TV so trying new things like the Simpsons TV Series was par for the course. It was all very exciting at the time
The fox network did it the network thought that the old Simpson family weren't that marketable because of there sound quality and exaggerated movement so they replaced them with the new one's by force and putting them under the house as a grim reminder for the new family if they step out of line or drop in viewers There plan worked but it worked too well makeing the new family way more popular than they could have predicted and loosing control of them explaining why the Simpsons can mock the fox network without any punishment and the more over the top stories that fox would never alow the old family to do like go to space This Idea also explains why the Simpsons were happy to be owned by Disney because the risk of being replaced by fox (eliminated by them) wouldn't be an issue anymore and they can live there lives without fear of replacement
I imagine what the old Homer and Marge are wearing in their burial place could be a clue. Homer's wearing a suit instead of his usual blue and white and Marge is wearing a flowery dress instead of plain green. If they ever wore these in older episodes then we have a chance of identifying their time and cause of death..

Old Homer murdered his family and than committed suicide. Someone like Barney came upon the scene, called up Moe and they two of them buried the bodies under the house.
I think it’s simple, they’re in a different universe, this rule could also include some of the video games. So a Simpsons multiverse if you will. Also they need to do an entire episode set in the universe of the originals because that would be amazing.
There is a couch gag where the 2 versions of the family run in to each other the newer version likely killed the old during the panic of this encounter
I think you should do a video talking about how The Simpsons may very well be taking place of a weird 2-D version of our world. Here is my evidence: There are many guest stars that appear in the show that are also from here on earth, so it must be a replica of our world. I mean, all of us must be in the Simpsons world somewhere as well. Or, maybe, the weird universe of The Simpsons will only replicate people who are well-known. The Simpsons family must have been put into the world of The Simpsons because of their growing fame in the earlier skits from the Tracey Ullman show. Springfield as a town is not mentioned immediately, so maybe they knew they were cartoons, which is why they were so crudely drawn originally. Now, they probably look different because they were brought into an alternate universe. The reason we never see anyone who immediately resembles anyone in real life is because everyone in Springfield is well-known. Ned Flanders was probably a world-renowned Sunday School teacher, or Otto was sent to jail for stealing drugs. This is something I have been thinking about for a while, and I will continue to update this comment as I learn more. It is just something I like to work on.
Thanks so much for your detailed, and well thought out theory! It makes alot of sense. I'm currently writing something very similar, where Homer knows he is a cartoon ✌️
Just discovered your channel and late to the party, but i remember an old episode. At some point bart is looking out of the windows toward the street and a kid on a skateboard is passing by, it was an old version of Bart from the original sketch. Always find that odd it didn't have anything to do with the rest of the episode.
Interesting theory. Although I do think the chances of Rick and Morty being in the same multiverse as the Simpsons is unlikely, I do think there probably is more than one Simpson out there however, I have another theory! They are doubles a bit like Guy Incognito or Lester and Eliza!
One of my favorite Marge origin theories was that she was a "Life in Hell" rabbit. The arcade game actually makes reference to this; If Marge is struck by lightning, a rabbit is shown with her hair over bunny ears!
Theory: Proffesor Frink made new versions of The Simpsons in an experiment, but 2 Simpsons in one universe at once had some consequence, and for some reason he couldn't kill the new ones, so he killed the old ones. Maybe not this exact situation, but Prof. Frink making new versions of The Simpsons and ripping something in the multiverse sounds like him. Prof. Frink and Willie are definintely my top suspects.
I think that there is also a great accidental similarity to Rick and Morty with those dead Simpsons sight-gags, as Rick and Morty buried the bodies of their universal counterparts in the backyard and just took over their lives. Who's to say that the same thing didn't happen here...?
Maybe Sideshow Bob's reanimator in that Treehouse of Horror episode was used after he killed them and it went wrong creating the new Simpsons. Huh. Possibly.
The original bart and lisa look like lester and eliza. Could the original Simpsons be in the witness protection program? Lester and Eliza are the first bart and lisa? The original simpsons were discovered by the people they were being protected by hence how they died? It would explain a lot.
the simpsons shorts is older than me by 3 years, and the official first episode is 8 days older than me,I think it's very intresting the show officially started a week before I was born and that I grew up with the show almost my entire life
There's a mass cloning theory out there because of a episode where the cast goes to a town has copies of everyone with small changes. And there is Bronson Missouri from the episode where grandpa gets a drivers licence where everyone is like the same Springfield man. So what if it's cloning and the original simpsons are the ones from the "behind the laughter" episode where they are rich and famous and their are clones that think they are real ready for when a Simpson dies with the original tracey ullman Simpson being the first clone.
my thought is that the new Simpsons were in a troubled situation and one day in Springfield the old and new Simpsons cross paths and soon later the new Simpsons killed the old one's and pretended that they was them
How about Lester and Eliza (from the day violence died) who looks like the originals? Could they be the originals who had to get renamed, possible witness protection.
With the paradox theory this makes perfect sense. A paradox can't exist within a current universe or time line. So one has to die for the other to exist within said universe or time line.
I like this version of the Simpsons. If I was reading a comic book I'd like the original Simpsons. It's just a different perspective on whatever thing your reading or watching off of
WAIT. In both Shots of the Ulman Corpses. They’re in the same poses. Lisa’s hand is even slightly detached in both. The only one who’s different is marge.
I enjoy your videos regardless but hearing the annoyance with the minions in your voice and makes me enjoy them that much more😂 I hate the minions, but the Simpsons are forever!
Principal Skinner murdered the kids. He was tired of Bart, and didn't want Lisa to snitch on him and get him sued or possibly killed by the police. As for Maggie, Skinner thought she could talk and snitch on him herself. So, three kids were carried away that night, by good old Groundskeeper Willie as Skinner fled the scene.
Thanks for the idea Jack. I'd like to look into the Simpsons Gene sometime, as Homer is actually intelligent, but is dumb due to the crayon in his brain.
I think there's three lots of Simpsons with the original shorts stories under the house and the ones under the power plant being the ones from the first few seasons upto around season 10 leading into the modern ones which could then lead into a fourth generation around season 30 explaining each major change in the characters personalities and suffering back stories as each would have different memories to help them aclamate to their given time
So...Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy all crossed over with each other (or, at least, some have crossed over with others) at some point. Are they...all taking place in alternate dimensions?
I, personally, can't get into multiverse stories. Like, if there are infinite copies of people, then there are no stakes. I.e. if a character dies, then they'll just be alive in another universe, thus all tension is ruined. It's the reason I could never get into Rick and Morty. Again, this is just me personally.
that one person on the internet: OMG why did you bring up something as violent as rick and morty on a video about a childs show like the simpsons. me: where the hell did you hear simpsons is for kids, WHERE THE HELL DID YOU HEAR TH-cam WAS FOR KIDS.

Maybe not this exact situation, but Prof. Frink making new versions of The Simpsons and ripping something in the multiverse sounds like him. Prof. Frink and Willie are definintely my top suspects.
Next, can you do a mystery video about Sam and Larry?
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll add it to the list!
Yeah, a Sam and Larry mystery would be really interesting!
Could be tree house of horrors could be dropping lore also awesome vid well done
Thank you! 💛

I think that there is also a great accidental similarity to Rick and Morty with those dead Simpsons sight-gags, as Rick and Morty buried the bodies of their universal counterparts in the backyard and just took over their lives. Who's to say that the same thing didn't happen here...?
Omg I totally forgot about that! I wish included that similarity in the video, perfect comparison! Thanks Cameron
@@TheSimpsonsTheory Don't sweat it; your video was already awesome!!
This was a good video, don’t know how I didn’t find it sooner
Love your theorys!
the simpsons shorts is older than me by 3 years, and the official first episode is 8 days older than me,I think it's very intresting the show officially started a week before I was born and that I grew up with the show almost my entire life
There's a mass cloning theory out there because of a episode where the cast goes to a town has copies of everyone with small changes.
Great vid
Thank you! 💛
my thought is that the new Simpsons were in a troubled situation and one day in Springfield the old and new Simpsons cross paths and soon later the new Simpsons killed the old one's and pretended that they was them
Sorry I'm late it was my dad's birthday.
Happy Birthday to your dad 🎉🎁
When it shows their dead bodies under the power plant, below them is a Godzilla skeleton.
The couch gag was actually my introduction to Rick and Morty
How about Lester and Eliza (from the day violence died) who looks like the originals? Could they be the originals who had to get renamed, possible witness protection.
I think the original Simpsons family is actually cool. It's nice to see the drawing before it's properly animated.
The simpsons probabbly killed the old familly, and stole their life
Maybe it is all a “us” parody ...
7:53 the animal Simpsons in the back are actually from an episode.
@Senator CNN No, they were both Treehouse of Horrors
Amazing stuff
I could listen to your voice all day
With the paradox theory this makes perfect sense. A paradox can't exist within a current universe or time line. So one has to die for the other to exist within said universe or time line.
Skinner could have sent the ghosts knowing that the situation would eventually kill Bart.
i went back to rick saying “oh look at the baby one! oh my gawd morty!” so many times lmfao
Haha 😂
I like this version of the Simpsons. If I was reading a comic book I'd like the original Simpsons. It's just a different perspective on whatever thing your reading or watching off of
WAIT. In both Shots of the Ulman Corpses. They’re in the same poses. Lisa’s hand is even slightly detached in both. The only one who’s different is marge.
The Simpsons never even drink frosty chocolate milkshakes thats how you know they aren't the same people
Homer,Bart,Lisa did in one of the short films from the 80s where Bart Catches the football in his mouth btw Sorry I’m late.
Here’s the link to the video th-cam.com/video/vOnxuyzfx1k/w-d-xo.html
I enjoy your videos regardless but hearing the annoyance with the minions in your voice and makes me enjoy them that much more😂 I hate the minions, but the Simpsons are forever!
Principal Skinner murdered the kids. He was tired of Bart, and didn't want Lisa to snitch on him and get him sued or possibly killed by the police. As for Maggie, Skinner thought she could talk and snitch on him herself. So, three kids were carried away that night, by good old Groundskeeper Willie as Skinner fled the scene.
The town recreates the simpsons every ten years and buries the old ones.
They are given new memories hence why they never grow old and their decades changes
I can’t stop watching this
I Love your videos!!!!!
Just subscribed
Thank you, glad to have you here!
I have a video idea, if the simpsons gene exists, why didn't it affect Herb Powell
Why did you crop the moment of Maggie showing Bart at 2:41? That part's hillarious!
Can't wait
The simsons is my favorite show
I, personally, can't get into multiverse stories.
What about the other people who originated in the Tracy Ullman Show, like Krusty, Grampa and Hans Moleman
