    Wonderful content, I enjoyed that very much!!! Maybe one of the best videos of Mana Pools I have watched! I camped very close to the exact spot as you many years ago, 1994. I was 22 years old assigned to Zimbabwe from the U.S. We spent eight nights there and watched the crocs and hippos and even had some baboons raid our camp. Most if not all of the Hippos and crocs were in the Zambezi, I don't recall any pools away from the river. Thank you for sharing this!!

    November, 2020 - I made the seemingly endless trek from Los Angeles to Harare. Overnighted in Harare then set off for Mana and had the entire park to myself. A couple nights at Chitake then five nights riverside. I forget which camp but it was right on the river. I’ve seen many African parks and regard Mana as truly unique and the greatest patch of land on this planet.

      Thanks for watching! Absolutely worth your long trek to be able to experience the magic of Mana :) And to able to enjoy it in such a quiet period must have been quite unique. Cannot agree more, it’s truly unique and should be right at the top of many tourists’ lists.

      Thanks for watching, Hennie! Your adventure sounds really notable. The previous time I’d been to Mana Pools was in 1997, when we also explored Kariba, Matusadona, Great Zimbabwe Ruins, with my late father. This return trip brought up many memories, and I too will definitely visit again!

    Had many holidays at Mana, when still living in Zim, there is no such thing as enough of Mana Pools. Sadly the collapse of the economy and our business saw us forced to leave Zim.

    We've got horrible no-see-ums here in Central Texas, too. "OFF" mosquito repellent seems to work on them, however. I would love to visit that area, but don't think I could deal with not having access to showers. A luxury lodge with a swimming pool and access to air conditioning and showers sounds much better than camping. That's just me....

    • @AndrewSenior
      @AndrewSenior  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Might need to import some of that to Zimbabwe! Luxury is always great but there is something really special about the intimate experience that wild camping offers - I’ve managed to convert a few folks!
