I personally think the understated vibe of the original works better, but this is still pretty good in my opinion. At the very least, the game offers an easy way to hear the original.
I do like the second half of the track more in the remake, though.

probably the best of shadow queen's themes in the remake. the awakening theme and phase 1 have too much metal and phase 2 lacks some stuff I liked in the original - nothing that a mashup can't fix

I think the true form version works with the guitar since the original was in fact going for that sound in several places, but I do miss the cut parts.
If there's one song that didn't need metal though, it's Cortez's theme.
