It's not about republican era, it's about romantic passionate revenge drama. This edit did all the justice to real drama. And trust me, it's not just 'looks interesting ' type, it's really really interesting and worth your valuable time.

This drama is truly one of a kind. I've watched tons of Chinese republican revenge story dramas and i can say that this is the best. Most of the other drama with this genre always have toxic Male lead, i don't know how you can falling in love with such men. Du Xunyu is a green flag. He protect and respect the Female Lead. The female lead also great. She's not some stupid and childish woman. She knows what she wants and how to get it. I also love the wife of the villain. She's adorable and lovely. Unlike other dramas with this genre, they usually has other evil female characters that made my blood boil, be it the grandma, the mother in law, second love interest, etc. I really hate it. The leads chemistry is superb. Mind you, they have only one kiss in the entire series, and that's also just the villain hallucination. But you can feel the love and tension between them. I have yet found better drama than this with this genre.
I don't watch c-dramas due to its long duration and cliché plots but this one was an exception and it was ky first c-drama that I properly watched and I have no regrets except that we didn't get any proper kiss I loved the plot and the acting of the actors.

Does anyone know the title for chinese drama with this plot: The ml and fl is married as husband and wife, turns out the wife is assasin that wants to kill her husband's father but hides the fact and puts innocent image infront of her husband. She managed to kill the father, and turns out the husband also intended to bring down his father but the wife did it first. Theres also a scene where the wife threaten to shoot the husband but then the guy's butler pointed his gun at the husband and the wife blocked him (wife protecting the husband).

Too bad it's mini drama with only around 5 hours total watchtime (excluding intro and end credit). The plot was good. The chemistry between leads were good. Very intense kissing. Definitely worth watching.

haha yaaasss so many great subs were created XD the first ep opens up with that scene at the beginning so I was like, oh damn, yup you've got my attention! yeah Maid's Revenge was like a guilty pleasure, totally trashy but so good XD but the END!! UUGHH that was some total BS T_T This one is muuuch better, the FL is actually smart, has a plan, and isn't afraid of the consequences of her actions. and yass girl, so many shirtless scenes, very satisfying indeed. tbh i think that stepping parallel at 1:00 is prolly my fav part of the edit, except for when he catches her sliding on the floor, the cinematography for this drama was PHENOMENAL! i love the story and the acting and everything about this drama but I would recommend it even just based on how beautifully filmed it was. so if you haven't watched it, you should! it's only 10 min eps!
