    Quite a big scale Kev , I was about to say take it off rather than leaving it flapping , but nature intervened and done it for you , I reason that should heal nicely now and over time a new scale should grow , 2nd the germaline shout cracking stuff in the koi med kit 👍👍😀😀

    Another great video 👍👍
    Had a similar issue with a show a but didn't notice it until it was infected, all treated and heeled perfectly, would never know.
    Keep up the great work.

    Great job see how the flap of skin goes in the next few days but I think it will probably have to be cut off...I put a bit of germoline on before the powder and top coat but that's just how I do it ..great video once again.

    Hi Kev hope your well ?...can i pick your brain and get some advice please mate I've got a slight parasite problem so i am putting pp in my 2000 gallon pond and following the instructions i.e. trying for purple water for 12/15 hrs or for as long as the fish can take it ... here's my question how much hydrogen peroxide at 6% do i put in at the end of the treatment? Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers and stay safe 🌈🌈 p.s. hope the fish is doing well 👍👍

    • @AKoiEnthusiast
      @AKoiEnthusiast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Ian, the thought of PP scares me. I've managed to control any parasites with less harsh treatments. I know it is good for a lot of things but as of yet I have never needed to use PP. The bit about maintaining the colour and then neutralising it can be confusing and needs the right tools to monitor the readings. I know it needs to be neutralised it by adding sufficient dechlorinator or similar to reduce the reading back to it’s original value.

    Has anyone here used PP instead of Roccol?

      Cheers for watching and a good question. I've not heard of it. It's used for fresh starts and cleaning media and ponds etc so I can see your train of thoughts

      @@AKoiEnthusiast Here in Canada we are very limited as to what is available to treat koi due to government regulations pertaining to use/availability of numerous chemicals from lawn care to fish disease treatments. When I have had to treat ulcers or sores/scrapes on my koi (not often fortunately) I use 3% hydrogen peroxide as a cleaner then apply a paste made from PP mixed with a little water followed by a quick rinse with water to remove any excess and cover the area with Liquid Bandage marketed for human use to seal the wound similar to Kusuri wound sealer. Works well but you have to be extremely careful not get any of these items near the mouth, eyes or gills.

      @@mykoiobsession It must be difficult for you and it is strange how different countries react. In New Zealand Koi are pests and are banned in certain areas. They are also served up in Supermarkets next to other Fresh fish. Cheers for watching
