Biblical evidence of the Book of Mormon?!

  • In this video, we talk about one of the most asked-for yet one of the most controversial topics yet... Is there evidence for the Book of Mormon in the Bible?
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as Mormons) often emphasize their belief in the Book of Mormon. However, members of the Church also believe in the Bible to be sacred text, just like the Book of Mormon. Both are regarded as companions in teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible was written in one part of the world and the Book of Mormon in another. But both are clear testaments of Jesus Christ. (If you are unsure and want to read the Book of Mormon, send us a DM on Instagram and we'll send you a book:))

Proud to be lds. Struggling badly but nearly with a smile on my face. I'm aware many lds Christian converts, modern day pioneers, endure so much opposition, trials, and hatred. Some may leave as some did in Joseph Smith's time. I sure have but I can hold my ground. I've tapped out plenty times. I was still indeed a super tough soldier in army. That helps drive me back.. Not backing down. Makes me sick what the saints, even Joseph Smith and his family, endured. I know the bible and book of mormon work TOGETHER. There is no bible vs the book of mormon that critics love to try to portray. Good word yall at saints unscripted! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😙 🎶

6:10 ish. Good job but it goes even further than that with the "sticks". Sticks in ancient Isreal literally were books or scrolls. A stick was fashioned smooth, and the paper was wrapped around the stick so that it wouldn't crumple or fold or tear. When a scroll got long, another stick was fashioned and wrapped from the end with new paper, and connected at the seam, so that the two sticks could be rolled up or down to a certain point in the writings. So the stick of Judah is the Bible, or Jewish/ early Christian writings, connected to the stick of Joseph. Which is the scroll or the Book of Mormon. Literally the sticks have been joined, not end to end to make a long stick, but side by side to seal the scroll.

This question always comes up within me every time I hear this mentioned. But the Book of Mormon mentions multiple times that there are OTHER PEOPLES that Christ visited. And that there are OTHER books which god commanded to be written, that god spoke to all nations, and commanded books to be written in all nations, and in the isles of the sea.
If so many more books have been written than just the Book of Mormon, and the Bible, and these are the latter days and Christ draws near, then why have these books not been revealed to us yet?
And that’s not my real question, my real question is WHY IS THIS NEVER TALKED ABOUT? Why are these “other books” mentioned in the Book of Mormon never mentioned by the church, why is this prophecy of there being more books that “will one day be revealed” never talked about? It’s as if the general public of the church just completely forgot about it

    • @gc2585
      @gc2585 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Because they don’t exist. Just like there are no manuscripts for the BoM found in the Americas, there are none for these “other books” in any other location. Jesus never visited the Americas. Mormons interpret the Bible through the lens of JS and LdS teaching whereas it should be the other way around. If it were though the distinct teachings of the LDS church would be shown to be unbiblical.

    • @elginfepuleai4508
      @elginfepuleai4508 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It’s not that we don’t talk about it, it’s simply that God has not revealed it yet so what information could we possibly give if we don’t even know what they are? The restoration is an ongoing process meaning that if those books aren’t revealed now, then now is not the time for it. God reveals things at an appointed time - in the Lords timing. We just need to be patient :)

Question!! At 8:58 , when Revelation 22 is mentioned, since revelation is the last book of the bible doesn’t that mean that it was written last? Or were the books of the bible written out of order?

    • @lexiconikan3219
      @lexiconikan3219 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Great question! Yes, the books of the Bible were essentially written out of order. When compiling it after deciding which books and epistles to include, essentially what they did was take the 4 main Gospels first, as the main focus. Then Acts follows directly after Christ's ascension in the same story-telling method, so that's technically chronological. Next, all of Romans through Hebrews are the "Pauline Epistles" which are all either confirmed to be written by Paul or at least assumed by many to have been (this is highly contested amongst scholars, especially Hebrews), and they are organized by length and recipient, rather than the time they were written. Romans is the longest, then they all get progressively shorter as you go through. Hebrews is at the end, even though it's longer, because they already weren't sure it was Paul's at the time so they placed it separate. Then the epistles of James, Peter, John and Jude all follow essentially the same rule of organizing by longest to shortest while keeping the author's works together. And lastly you have Revelation, which was written by John while in exile on the isle of Patmos, likely before any of his epistles, possibly even his Gospel, were written. So no, the books of the Bible are not all in chronological order, Revelation was likely not the last to be written, and more specifically about that verse saying not to add anything, it is likely it specifically referred to adding or taking away from John's Revelation itself, not all the Word of God that existed at the time. (As a side note, I will say research on this is somewhat difficult considering how highly contested so much of it is, from dates to authors to authenticity)
Tl;dr No, the books of the New Testament are not in Chronological Order. Also, neither are the books of the Old Testament: many cover the exact same time periods from different perspectives.

      @ChicHulaGirl86 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Nicholus Valdez I’m sorry, it sounds like you’re trying to convince me of something? But who needs the convincing? Because i sure don’t. Plus, nothing about the Bible or Book of Mormon can be explained purely by “facts”. You can’t prove ANYTHING that happened in the Bible or Book of Mormon actually happened. It doesn’t matter if you take an atheist to Jerusalem or Bethlehem to show them where you “believe” Jesus walked. In the end, you can’t PROVE any of those places from the Bible are ACTUAL locations. There are still two possible locations believed to be the birth place of Jesus. So, you cannot simply FORCE an atheist (or anyone for that matter) to believe anything! No matter the “facts”. An atheist (as well as others) has to ask the Lord for themself if this is true and receive a confirmation through the spirit bearing witness unto them.

@@maritimesteak8540 Actually we are referring to Revelation 22:18-19 where John warns that if anyone adds to or takes away from the words of THIS book... John was not writing in the Bible, he was writing the specific book of Revelation. The Bible was not compiled for hundreds of years after that, so he couldn't have been referring to the book we call the Bible. Bible scholars mostly agree that 1st, 2nd and 3rd John were written after the book of Revelation, so they would be adding to scripture after the book of Revelation was written. So it is obvious that John was warning not to tamper with the text of this specific book of Revelation.
It is also helpful to keep in mind that Moses says essentially the same thing in Deuteronomy 4:2, so if you choose to interpret Revelation 22:18-19 in a way that prohibits further scripture, you would have to reject most of the Old Testament and all of the New. The restored gospel would come about with 2 to 3 witnesses - 2 Cor. 13:1, Matthew 18:16
Full Gospel restored to Earth in midst of end times by an angel (Moroni) - Revelation 14:6-7
An unlearned man will have a night vision of an undecipherable book that educated men can not read. The book will be delivered to the unlearned man for translation even though the scholars can't understand it - Isaiah 29:10-14
Actual description of Book of Mormon recovery (the story of Joseph Smith) - Isaiah 29:4-18, Ezekiel 37:16-20
Holy Bible (Stick of Judah) and the Book of Mormon (stick of Joseph) to be combined into one book that a person can hold in his hand - Ezekiel 37:16-20
Bonus: The biblical curse of adding to the scriptures is meant to protect the individual works of the prophets, not the entire Bible itself. If it was meant for the entire Bible, no scriptures would exist past the book of Deuteronomy. The "Don't add, don't remove" statement is all over the place in the Bible: See Rev. 22:18-19, Deut. 4:6, Proverbs 30:5-6, etc. All the books the books written after Deuteronomy would be false if they will use the protestant logic.

Well I’ll admit that you have a lot of interesting things to think about but...you are very wrong and here’s why. The Bible’s tells us that anyone can look the part but if they lead u after another Jesus then they are a false teacher and should be condemned. So by that statement made by Paul outright destroys the LDS church. John 1:1-3; 14 clearly tells us who Jesus is. Isaiah tells us the the messiah would be called Emmanuel or Immanuel which means in Hebrew “GOD with us” Jesus is God. Phillipians 2 reinforces this. The Book of Mormon contracts Joseph Smiths teaches on the plurality of gods. Testimony of the Three Witnesses teaches the Trinity. Mosiah 15:1-5 reinforces this too as well as other scriptures in the Book of Mormon. Smith again taught plurality of gods which is contradictory to Isaiah in several spots where Isaiah writes that there is only one God and there is no other besides Him. You cannot become a god one day. Revelation states that He is the Alpha and Omega, beginning and end, first and the last. God always has been and always will be. He is the only God in Heaven. The Book of Mormon is not taught in the Bible anywhere. If you read and pray with an open heart and ask God of what the scriptures say then He will grant you eyes to see and ears to hear His voice in the Word.

@@collinshaw4917 There's one God, we believe that. Jesus is God incarnate, we believe that. yet consider the words of Origen while having a conversation with Heraclides : “Origen said: ‘Was He God distinct from this God in whose form He was?’

In these texts, one is not to think that the unity refers to the God of the universe in his purity (as the heretics would say) apart from Christ, nor that it refers to Christ apart from God; but we say that it is just as Jesus expresses it: I and the Father are one (John 10.30).’”

I'm not a Mormon, but if religion is overly popular (like Catholicism) then it's sweet but delivers no bitterness to the eater of the word. Without the bitterness, there's nothing gained from the experience. If people don't possess Gal 5:22-23 then you know they are not fruits of Yah, because regardless of doctrine differences we still have a standard to keep. It says love your neighbour, NOT love your neighbour if they share your beliefs. Be Esther, "...who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" - speak loud, don't let others discourage you! If people don't like what you have to say, it's probably because it's got the bitter truth they don't want to eat!

I know this is probably late and I might not get a reply but I'm trying to figure out if the LDS church is true and I was going through the comments and I have just watched the video and there is evidence that supports the truthfulness of the church. However, I'm lost, many of the comments seem to be based on that person's interpretation of the bible, I've done a lot of research on LDS doctrine, not just the book of Mormon. A lot of it was opinion based but others provided solid evidence against the LDS doctrine. I'm currently reading the book of Mormon and the bible as well. Through research, I found a few things that did concern me, in Moroni 8:8 says that children do not have sinful nature ( please correct me if I'm wrong) but in the bible, it says in Psalms 51:5, King David teaches that children have this sinful nature at birth. Another thing that did concern me was in 2 Nephi 25:23 and in Moroni 10:32, It states that by "grace we are saved, after all, we can do", is this saying that we are saved by our works? In the bible, it says in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of works, lest anyone should boast."
Once again correct me if I'm wrong, and don't give an answer to "The Bible is wrong or the book of Mormon is wrong" solid evidence is much appreciated because I'm really trying to put my faith in something that is true and not false.

Smith said that it was a book of Abraham's dealings in Egypt, however, it was proven that this was false, the papyrus that Smith used for translation actually was talking about Osiris and Anubis, two Egyptian gods. I think a common mis conception is that we believe the more good deeds we do the more we are saved, but thats not what is meant by works.
      James 2: 14-26
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

There are neccessary ordinaces talked about in the Bible that are neccessary. So while baptism, and repentance, teaching the gospel etc etc are neccessary works that he asks of us in order to be faithfully following him. No works such as how much good you do or don't do is not the conditional works that are talked about in the Bible. Just like the parable of the talents.

Nephi and his people lived 600 yrs BCE and were practicing Mosaic Law (a very arduous and demanding set of religious rules and regulations, required by God.) No "salvation by grace" had yet been made available to the world. Nephi was speaking to his people, while Moroni was certainly quoting Nephi.
This is only part of the explanation though, since we certainly believe the Biblical words of James that faith without works is dead.
BTW, "faith vs works" is a very old Christian debate and predates the Latter-Day Saints.

In Mark 9:1 it says: "Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God arrive with power." I think John, and some others were blessed to not taste of death until the 2nd coming. The "Kingdom of God arriv[ing] with power" is the 2nd coming. We say the same with the so-called "3 Nephites", and there are probably others who have been blessed to roam the earth for centuries according to the Lord's desire/word/value.
In other words, I don't think Christ's visit to the America's fulfills those words of Christ in the Holy Land.

In fact, John saw christ on the isle of Patmos long after his ascension to heaven. Peter saw Christ when he escaped Rome. During this encounter, Christ said to Peter that he is going to Rome to be crucified again. This made Peter ashamed and thus he returned to Rome to receive his martyrs death instead of fleeing. The Lord he met on his way, commanded him to take off his shoes, as the burning bush did for Moses, for the land is holy, due to God's presence. Joshia fell on the ground and worshipped this human looking heavenly being, and he accepted his worship. If this was only a man or regular angel, he would have forbidden Joshua from worshipping him. This happened to John at Patmos. When he fell down to worship the messenger, who was showing the vision of the book of revelation, the being forbade John and said not to do so, since he is only his fellow servant, one of the prophets of old. While I am a member, and I do agree that Book of Mormon references do show up in the Bible… I think it is incredibly reasonable that many do not see significance in things like Ezekiel 37:19 or Luke 9:27. I think there are very valid interpretations of these verses that do not present evidence for the Book of Mormon.

I love the irony of the video starting out talking about Christians using a 17th century english translation while using the BOM that is written in the 19th century using also using 17th century english. Either the author of the golden plates spoke in a english dialect that wasnt spoken for 1,500 years after his death or Joseph Smith decided to translate the plates in an english dialect that HE didnt speak either. Why did Moroni or Joseph smith write the BOM in the same style as the king james version. For ex: "not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." People didn't speak like this in Moroni's time or Smith's. So why not translate it in (1848) common day talk?

Many forget that many portions of The Book of Mormon came in the middle of The Old Testament and before The New Testament.
Why do we even need the book of Mormon when there is the Bible already?
The problem is that the rest of Christianity reads the bible and they can't agree on many points of doctrine, The Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible that helps clear up some of those points and clarifies others. It helps to put down false doctrines and establish correct ones.

I was hoping someone would say this. Context and knowing how the Bible is translated is super important when studying the Bible. As someone who speaks two languages and has Bibles in both languages, I did not really appreciate the comments made in the first minute or so of the video, because it shows a lack of knowledge, respect, and wonderment for how the Bible came to be canonized and how it is translated and spread to different languages and cultures. The Bible I have in both languages is the same Bible with the same meaning and same doctrine as it is the true Word of God that has been carefully passed down through generations and will last for all eternity according the Lord's promise. Context is something many people both Christian and not struggle with. People love to take verse out of context to support any and all beliefs, but when you put it back into context with the surrounding verses, history of the Bible, and the overarching message of the Bible, you will see the truth.

For those who say that the Book of Mormon is not true, then i have a few questions.
Do you truly believe that Jesus Christ is God?
If Jesus speaks, do you listen and believe?
In John 10:16, the Savior says:
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
I dont care if you believe in the Book of Mormon or not, because it is between you and God and not anyone else what you believe. But if you truly say that you believe Jesus is God and that he spoke those words, then how can you not believe that he did what he said in appearing to others not of his current fold and that he would bring them into his fold?
There are records from multiple cultures around the world that state they were visited by God. All stories are different, but does that make them all untrue?
There are recorded histories from Russia, China, Japan, India, and many other countries/cultures that profess their ancestors had visits from a God. Many of their stories have similar teachings as what was taught by Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. Are their stories untrue?
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that the Book of Mormon came from people who lived in the Americas somewhere. Have you done any research to find any truths to that claim?
The Sioux (Dakota), Potawatomi (Bodéwadmi), Stockbridge (Mahican), and other Indian peoples residing in Wisconsin and Canada. Delegations from the Sauk (Asakiwaki) and Fox (Meskwaki) tribes among many other tribes in North America state in their oral and written histories that their ancestors had visits from the great Spirit. There are also artifacts being found that prove their ancestors were already religious before any Christian missionaries came to them.
In Central and South America, only 1% of the ancient ruins have been discovered, uncovered, or researched. Multiple of the native people who live in Central or in South America have also stated that their ancestors had visits from a Great Spirit or a God. There are also ancient artifacts that depict the visitations as well as a religious culture having been present.
At least 75% of the anachronisms written in the Book of Mormon have now been found either in South, Central, or in North America.
So in the end, if you can only believe that only the Isrealites had God and wrote scripture, then you are blind to the histories of people across the world.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
How can God be a merciful God and only tell one people his word and leave the rest to never know him past or present?
He didnt leave them to their own devices, because he loved everyone. Jesus knew that his Apostles didnt know there were people in other lands where they couldn't travel to preach. So he said he would go himself.
Believe in the Book of Mormon or not, but its a fact that something happened around the world whether you believe it or not.
Someday all will be judged. Do you want to be open to possibilities or closed to his word because its not in the Bible? You decide!

Jesus loves everyone. He died and only through his grace are we saved.
There are a lot of unanswered questions that we may not know. Why didn’t Jesus visit china, Southern Africa, Europe, ect… And for all we know he may have. HOWEVER the issue is not with the fact of Christ revealing himself to the Americans it’s that the Bible has over 80,000 original manuscripts. There is no proof of the original gold plates besides some affidavits. The genealogy doesn’t match up to the way the BOM describes. The concern is are you following what Jesus Christ said or what Joseph said.
This JST is added in Genesis 50: 24-38. A prophecy about Joseph smith and the latter days that wasn’t in any other copy of the Bible.
What about the JST in Exodus 33: 20,23 that says that no sinful man can see the lords face? Joseph smith claims to have seen God and Christ with his own eyes. Either he’s a liar, not a sinner or the translation is wrong, and in Deuteronomy, 18:22 it teaches that to test a prophet, and he fails this test.
Joseph’s teachings contradict each other and the Bible and most importantly JESUS CHRISTS WORD. They cannot both be true. The concern is do you know Jesus for who he was? I pray that you can learn of Christ the way the Bible teaches and make sure you are in line with that before branching off.

Good video brethren... I'll just like to add a couple more
    Psalm 85:11-13
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
The book of Mormon came out of the earth, and it is truth and light. Righteousness did look down from heaven for the Father and the Son did visit Joseph Smith.
The Lord did give that which is good. For his authority, covanents, ordinances, commandments, doctrines, temples, his church and kingdom where restored to the earth. This is good. America is an abundant land and gives of her increase, especially to the faithful and obedient.
The book of Mormon brings forth the ways of the Lord that his righteousness shall go before him and " The crowning event recorded in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ among the Nephites soon after His resurrection. It puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come."....
Joseph Smith said: “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”
So there you go prophecy being fulfilled.
And they say the Bible doesn't speak of the Book of Mormon, it does oh and one more...
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
An angel from heaven had to deliver the everlasting gospel to be preached unto us on the earth because it was taking away from the earth because of wickedness and apostasy. Now it has been restored.
This is just a couple more to add to the list brethren..

Based on, ( for instance), Christ's Apostle Paul's great proclamation in 2 Timothy Ch 3 13-17, I can completely trust the perfect and all encompassing sufficiency of the Holy Bible for everything needed pertaining to the christian faith and walk, praise God.
The Holy Bible itself is the most correct book on earth, it alone is the Keystone of the Christian faith, and abiding by it's precepts makes us 'wise unto salvation'

To echo what they Kwaku said
The Book of Mormon is written in prophecy.
    A little context first.
God said the House of Israel is his chosen covenant people. And He had made a covenant with them which consists of the 12 Tribes of Israel. The 2 tribes that I want to pay particular attention to is the House of Judah and the House of Joseph.
Joseph had 2 sons and one of the sons was named Ephraim.
God promised that the house of Ephraim would prosper.
    Zachariah 10:6-9
"...and I will SAVE THE HOUSE OF JOSEPH, and I will Bring Them Again To Place Them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.
7 And they of Ephraim(son of Joeseph) shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.
8 I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
9 And I will sow them among the people: and They Shall REMEMBER ME IN FAR COUNTRIES; and they shall live with their children, and turn again."
God promised to come visit The House of Israel, or the 12 Tribes.
"...Joseph saw Ephraim’s children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph’s knees.
24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you..." Gen 50:23-24 "And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you," Genesis 50:25 "...I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (Matt15:25) If Christ was not sent but unto the House of Israel, and He visited Judah already by being born and ministering for 3 years and being resurrected and showing himself to 500 people (1Corinth 15:6), it makes sense that he would visit all the Tribes, or at least, the righteous ones, because He made a promise in Genesis above. Jesus said "I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."John 10 14:16, I think mainstream Christianity believes that He was talking about the Gentiles, Christ was not going to visit the Gentiles. Remember, He said, "...I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." "For they understood not that the Gentiles should be converted through THEIR preaching." 'THEIR' means Israel descendants. "...and they understood me not that the Gentiles should not at any time hear my voice-that I should not manifest myself unto them save it were by the Holy Ghost." 3rdNephi15:22-23.
The Gentiles are not of the House of Israel and would be adopted in later, the first shall be last and the last shall be first.
He visited the House of Ephraim because they are of the House of Israel! The Nephites are of the house of Joseph and Ephraim. And Christ did "surely visit them." Gen 50:23-24
Prophecy is written that 2 books would be written by the descendants of, or the House of Judah(TheBible), and the descendants of, or the House of Joseph (Book of Mormon), would come forth and that they would be one in God's hand. The verses below will use the word stick, which means scripture or scroll.
    Ezekiel 37:16-19
"...thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand."
"...Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand."

The Bible is the word of God, it is stunning to think it is not, you just insulted many people, with your comments. The bible is proven to be the true Word of God, they have been authenticated by archaeologists, Historians, NO document of antiquity has as much evidence to confirm its reliability as the bible. John 16:13 And the truth of God is found in the Word of God. John 17:17 Thus, to those who believe these sacred words are life itself but to those without the Spirit the Bible is nothing but foolishness. If you were grounded in the scriptures of the Bible you would reverse your thoughts, it is obvious that you are not. 1 Cor 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to Him, he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The Bible is the highest Law of God. The only place we can find a clear unmistakable message is in the Word of God. No writer changed the meanings, except Joseph Smith, NO one should deny the authentication of the bible.
How we received the bible is a miracle in itself. It is about a man's redemption as it is through Jesus Christ.

Read all books. So much good information outside of scripture that I didn't read when I was in the church. Church wants you to stay in an echo chamber. Funk that! (1) Sagat "Funk Dat" - TH-cam

The Bible says salvation is a free gift from God, Not of works.....LDS scripture says it's after "all you can do" Grace has a proviso in your beliefs that you can never live up too....different God there boys.

If it'a free gift then everyone is saved and no one is going to hell. Or is there something you have to DO (Works) to recieve this free gift? Tell me what do you have to DO to be saved? Whatever that is, its a work.

      @@travisbascomEphesians2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Hint of what it takes to recieve the gift of salvation. If believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth is work then I'd say that's pretty easy work considering the price that was paid for the great gift that God has promised. A gift of eternal life in the promised land, the new heavens and earth with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Stay in the word and keep on praying and God bless.

If there are so many great examples about the Bible testifying about the BOM, then why was this JST added in Genesis 50: 24-38? A prophecy about Joseph smith and the latter days that wasn’t in any other copy of the Bible?
What about the JST in Exodus 33: 20,23 that says that no sinful man can see the lords face? Joseph smith claims to have seen God and Christ with his own eyes. Either he’s a liar, not a sinner or the translation is wrong, and in Deuteronomy, 18:22 it teaches that to test a prophet, and he fails this test.
It’s all about context if you read 1 Corinthians 15:29 it can look like baptisms for the dead is a crucial part of being saved but when you get context and learn more than 5 “gotcha verses” you’ll start to see that Joseph smiths writings and teachings go against critical teachings of the Bible. He claims to believe in the Bible yet goes against it and changes it to fit his narrative.
