The heaviest thing in this song was the lyrics, damn how well written everything is, when the end exploded, and the singer sings "you make me wish I could disappear" with so much rage, it left me paralyzed, I even cried.

Every time I hear that last part it makes me tear up. So much pain in it. All the emotions he makes you feel with his music… it hurts my heart thinking about all the hurt me must have went through. He needs all the hugs.
His voice sounds more raw in that section than on anything else they've ever recorded for me. He almost sounds like a different person.
Every word is perfectly written. Two lines put the rest into perspective for me.
At the start

And by the end
“So I’ll take what I want and leave”

Something I read in a comment section elsewhere about the Take Me Back to Eden track and the heavy part at the end, that I agree with and understand it as, is that rage finally came out and he’s had enough and he’s screaming “Take Me Back to Eden!”. Like, having an argument and trying to talk civilly and then just losing your mind at the end and start yelling.
In the verse prior he even warns everyone
"I don't know what's got its teeth in me but I'm about to bite back in anger"
It’s literally the start, middle and ending to an ear orgasm. Slow steady start, then the vibing, then the harder rhythm to loss of control, down to the finishing calm.
I agree and in the chorus how he mentions his patient violence to a pathway higher (needs a productive outlet for his anger) so I feel like the ending is him taking the higher path and his music is his outlet idk just me
Sleep token is now the benchmark for modern music writing. Phenomenal album. There are very few bands in this world that invoke genuine emotion and overwhelming feeling through their music. If anyone listened to this album and took nothing away from it, I honestly feel sorry for you. This music is a gift.

It sucks and is making me so fucking pissed that they are being so much hate some of them even having the nerve to say they this album is bland and boring and that they can't stand vessels voice dude I been going off on some losers the last couple days. They are some real cold hearted people they don't realize how damaging thier comments can be to people and they don't even take the tone to understand what this band this music is vessels journey from all the trauma he been through and now he's finally healing and letting go and hoping being able to have some peace and love in his life.

@@SeanStaxxMusic truly like nothing else. Especially considering he wrote and performed nearly everything in studio; apparently Vessel does EVERYTHING but the drums, as in plays all the other instruments on the album and is even involved in the marketing and merch.

I think if you would've listened to the album in order (or just this one before TMBTE) you would've vibed with TMBTE WAY more. After all the other songs before TMBTE you probably would've wished they would've gone super heavy, and then having heard how heavy TMBTE gets after all the other songs probably would've made you vibe with it way more. Hopefully that made sense LOL

@@thelightshineth8848 I've been strictly metal for over 20 years and ever since my introduction to ST from Will Ramos, they've basically replaced all my tops and I've been trying to branch out into other bands with similar style
@@necropunk7015 I'm almost afraid to suggest anything because it's pretty hard to follow this album. I suggested Bad Omens' latest album to someone recently which was my fave last year and I still really like it but after thinking about it I'm like "man even that just doesn't come close". Only recent thing I can think of that is "Grayscale Season - Do You Like Violence". It leans a lot more into metalcore harsh vocals, and he sounds like the Mars Volta singer, but I think it fits at least somewhere in the same galaxy lol that Sleep Token fans could appreciate
I initially didn't really like the Rap bit, but that's just me that I'm not much into Rap, but love the atmospheric kind of chorus stuff in the background in that section, and the more I listened to this track the more I actually kind of appreciate that. Not a very big fan about rap as I said but I thought that the way it was done here was very clever and love the quality of the mix as well. Really well separated and put together, every sound is full of life and depth. And right after that section you get his looping voice swelling up with increasing amounts of reverb and pitch shifting down and the production there is so damn clever and creative I think, as his voice is pushed further and further in the background with the reverb, blending in with the ambient textures, until it then slams right back in your face up close and intimate with the whispering, and then culminating in being fully open with guitars and all the rest. That really creates an incredible contrast which I really love. I think it's so beautifully done, very creative, inspirational and clever.
Told you that you wouldn't be disappointed! Keep up the great work man. Always a pleasure to hear your thoughts, whether critical or not.

Agree with your take in the reaction to Take me back to Eden, and the the difference in the transition they used here that makes it fit better, and not be so jarring. I think given the lyrics that was done intentionally in TMBTE as it fit the story telling in the song. On 3rd, 4th listen, now that I am expecting the sudden switch I like it a lot more but still wish there was a better transition to it….that being said, that may be the only thing I didn’t care for in the whole album. I would recommend going back and listening to the album as a whole once you are done with reactions as it was written to be listened to that way. The ebb & flow and story telling works amazingly well as an album.
Love getting your take, you always come in with an honest ear. The Apparition should be up next. Also, don’t listen to the closer without revisiting Sundowning and the EPS, you’ll appreciate more…

Nah, modern metal is in a great place. It is good to see these genre lines being blurred by bands like sleep token. Experimentation like this really elevates the music imo. As a lifelong metal head, listening to stuff like this is pretty refreshing. Plus, there are several bands that still stick to genre conventions that are still killing it. Metal is thriving, you’re probably just a gate keeping hater if you can’t see that 🤷♂️

I understand what you’re saying. The delivery is a bit harsh, but if I’m understanding you correctly, I think it all stems from the opinion of whether Sleep Token is even metal or not. To me, personally, they are not. At all. But I do like the fact that metalheads are being introduced to whatever this genre is by checking it out as categorized as “metal”. But it so isn’t.
