Whats crazy is that its basically ALL one guy, Vessel writes/records Vocals, guitars, pianos… the only thing he doesn’t write are the drums which makes the stylistic variance even more incredible… he’s truly one talented guy
Is that confirmed? ii and iii are on Twitter separate now so that makes me think they're a band?
That may not be true for TMBTE since iii and iv have their own accounts now. But for Sundowning and TPWBYT that is true!
I think thats true up until TMBTE although maaayybbee some of the album was recorded before they were a full band, probably explains how the guitar parts are a lot more varied now compared to before
I think they're a proper 4 piece now, the guitar parts are much more intricate this album. Main example is the solos - the solo in telomeres isn't great (the song is though), whereas the solo in the summoning is really tasteful. A lot of the new riffs seem to flow better too, if you listen to the instrumentals of TPWBYT a lot of the guitars seem pieced together during production. Still one of my favourite albums of the last few years though
I still think it might only be Vessel recording everything except drums since no other artists are credited on the recordings on ascap. I certainly could be wrong but iii and ivs accounts were added just recently
When this song dropped a few months ago my first thought was “the music shed is going to L O V E this track!!”

Lot of references to quantum physics on blood sport too
Sleep Token has been using a lot of scientific, chemistry, physics terminology which I love.
Alkaline, Aqua Regia(Kings water, basically a solution that helps to dissolve gold), Blood Sport (Stuck in a Quantum Pattern), Telomeres which is a biology term and finally sundowning.
Really just love seeing beautiful music mixed in with my love of science.

Not sure if I read too much into it, but Aqua Regia lyrics are almost a call & response to the lyrics in Chokehold earlier in the album "I'll paint my wall gold, just to bring you home again..." then AR that dissolves gold.
Always loved the lyric “I woke up surrounded, eyes like frozen planets, just orbiting the vacuum I am” from Atlantic

Also pay close attention to the fact that Alkaline is track number 7 of that album “she’s neither Acid nor Alkaline in other words a perfect pH balance at 7.0 lol
You nailed it when you commented on Sleep Token's musical vocabulary - it's rare to see a group with so much stylistic breadth and depth. Also, their drummer is an absolute monster (you wondered out loud if it was programmed). He's more restrained on the new tracks than past releases, but dude's a GOAT.
Vessel plays the piano. He's played that solo live, and many other pieces where piano is featured. There's a whole acoustic concert that's just him and some back up singers, where he plays the guitar for the first third and the piano for the majority. Also check out Blood Sport: there's two version, a full one and one just piano.
Piano man, I was so excited for you to hear this song's gorgeous interlude. Vessel is a talented pianist.
And *all* percussion is the drummer, II. Even some parts you wouldn't expect... Entire synth percussion arrangements that sound programmed are II on a pad. He's just. That. Good.

Wow! I know you’re a musician but it was still incredible impressive to watch you play the song after only listening to the first verse. There is so much going on and you were still able to pick apart how to play it on the piano.

Ikj were here to talk about sleep token but omg David's piano skills are on anouther level. How he can instantly play a melody from just hearing it is crazy.
It’s called relative or perfect pitch, once you understand music theory and figure out what key a song is in. It becomes you just having fun with it. Can’t even play any instrument but it’s absolutely wild what some musicians can do just by ear.
Aqua Regia has become my favorite of the new songs. It's an absolute vibe.
Vessel plays all instruments bar drums on the albums and writes the music with II who plays drums. II the drummer is a beast. III is the bassist and IV the guitarist. They started as touring members but I’m pretty sure they’re now full members. Either way they’re all extremely talented. Vessel plays piano/keyboard live and is great. If seen loads of your sleep token reacts but would never say no to more 😂🖤

Sleep Token is only 2 guys, Vessel 1 (singer and instrumentalist) and 2 (drummer). They write and produce all of their music. Vessels 3, 4, and 5 are touring members that help them play live. Just makes the music all the more impressive knowing this is just 2 people
There is no V. Vessel writes, sings, and plays all instruments on the albums. II is the drummer. III and IV started as touring members but are basically part of the band now 🖤

The singer, Vessel, got a very versatile vocal. he can go low, high, falsetto, and scream. when i first discovered them, i adore his voice. the drummer is amazing. iv, can scream very well, iii, huh....how can you hate iii....

2nd favorite sleep token song for me next to Granite. Incredible song. Your reactions to the bands you cover that I dig...these guys, dance Gavin dance, polyphia....are so good that I went into your back catalog and saw that you've done pretty much every one of the summery alt bands from the 90s except the best one....311. They got a track I'd like to request, a deep cut called "stealing happy hours" that I think you'd dig. It's pure musical bliss from start to finish from a criminally underrated band. Great reaction!
Aqua Regia is king's water, liquid gold in alchemy. The whole song is about alchemy. Oxytocin in the ether, subatomic interactions, acid flux, etc.
