    The War Horse is still running the original, the prototype, the first out the door, the very best GoldWing belly pan on the road! I’ve still got the “bullet hole” oil filter that happened before Max installed the prototype on the War Horse.

    Whoa!!! Max "The Magician" McAllister and his excellent products!! I'm sure that customer was so relieved that he made the small investment in buying the engine case guard. A great video Max, and a novel idea to provide customers with a replacement program like that.

    Have mine installed 2 weeks after I got my wing, absolutely love this plate, and removing during an oil changes takes about 1 minute.

    Thanks for saving my friends bike. He ran over the curb, and was able to get up and running again with minimal difficulty. I saw that sheared bolt first hand because I helped him take it apart. I hope I never need to test disaster on my bike, but good to know I have the best solution to protect my engine case.

    I also keep telling the people bitching about having to remove it and hard to put back on that all you have to do is leave the front right outside bolt in place just loose and you can swing it out of the way to change oil. Easy peasy.

    I ran over one of those beach tent peg coil looking things that hold tents into the sand. It was about 18" long and maybe 3/8" coiled aluminum (I assume). I sounded like a shotgun as it slammed into my case guard. When I got it home and on the lift it has a small scratch on the guard. Would it have been in the right place to knock a hole in the case I don't think so, but I will say it made me feel better knowing the guard was between me and that F-ing tent peg.

    Have you ever had someone damage their engine due to the plate being mounted to to it? Thanks

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't understand your question...
      Do you mean the engine was damaged by the act of installing the plate, or while it was in use in the road?
      In either case, no one had an engine damaged while our plate was in use.

    • @rvaillant
      @rvaillant ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing I noticed about the engine guard is the engine noise while riding. It does seem to amplify the engine sound while riding. It's not really significant, but noticeable.

    Trailer hitch balls are scary things. My brother’s car was totaled when his daughter rear ended a pickup with the hitch ball installed. I’m not sure the pickup sustained any damage. Then there is the time when everyone hits one with his knee. Looks like a very necessary piece for the Goldwing. It reminds me of the jar that tire stores keep to show what can end up in tires. I once picked up a Revlon tweezers that went into my car tire, both points first. Somehow the tire held air until I got home. The flexing end had worn away so the two sides were no longer connected.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that is some good luck, at least the way I see it!

    • @alanhassall
      @alanhassall 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Traxxion It was good luck because car makers rarely include spare tires in cars anymore. The mobility kit (compressor with a can of goo) has not proven effective in my experience.

      The Alcan plate is 2" wider for people who ride on more extreme roads, like the "Alcan Highway"... gravel, etc.

  • @dtbmjax
    @dtbmjax 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    WOW! I know just how sturdy 6061 aircraft aluminum is, especially at that thickness. That is just unreal. The bad luck needed to do that kind of damage (outside of a lab) is is truly mind boggling and if that plate had not been on the bike, that would have been the end of that engine. I got into an argument one time with a well known rider, on the benefit of a belly pan on the 5th generation Goldwing. His argument was you don't need a belly pan if you pay attention to where you're going. My response was, "do you think the pilots of the Concorde that suffered a ruptured fuel tank on take off , that subsequently caused a crash and a huge loss of life, did those guys not pay attention to where they were going?" He clammed up quickly and several years later posted on a message board that he wished he had a belly pan on when ran over a step ladder one night that had fallen off a trailer and punctured his coolant reservoir. Every 6th gen Goldwing owner should have one of these on their bike. It's cheap insurance. Good job making an excellent product Max!

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  ปีที่แล้ว

      Impossible... haha. You need to remove the 7 screws that hold the plate up. Takes an extra minute or two in each direction. The brackets and bodywork stay in place.

  • @dudeonit2000
    @dudeonit2000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The thing that I don't see mentioned is the fact that if you crack the engine case and spew out oil you may be going for a slippery ride that may end up with injuries. Especially if you are turning at all. The engine damage is secondary for me to my personal safety. The roads and freeways here are littered with debris. I guess that's why I wear an airbag vest.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As demonstrated, the Traxxion Dynamics Engine Case Guard prevents even the most extreme road debris from damaging the engine cases. There are several videos on this topic on my channel you can watch.

    • @dudeonit2000
      @dudeonit2000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Traxxion I already have your guard. The safety aspect is more important to me than engine damage is all I was referring to. I err on the side of safety. I have to in my line of work and it carries over to my personal life. All my ATC's, TRX's and RZR's had aftermarket skid protection for the same reasons.
