    Dude this is the guide I've been waiting for. I haven't played the Total War series. Actually I played Shogun but that is one of the earliest in the series. It's advanced so much since then. I love this faction but couldn't quite figure out how to build it economy wise. I would raise and take settlements and then was too poor to do anything else. Now I know I just need to focus on Deff Gorge, which helps tremendously with upgrading my army. Also I didn't realize that having garrisoned armies hurt your growth as well. I'm going to make changes and get out there and be the great terror i know I was meant to be! Thanks again for tremendous work here! This was the instructional guide I wish was enclosed when I purchased $300 worth of game & DLC's via my Game Pass -chuckle-

    This might be a dumb question but is it possible to directly recruit an Exalted Bloodthirster as an army Lord? I'm about 100 turns in and I've only been able to recruit Heralds of Khorne. I never got around to looking this up but when I was playing last night one of my Heralds was elevated (seemingly at random) to an Exalted Bloodthirster. Is this the only way to get these? Would the Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh factions have a similar thing with obtaining Exalted Great Unclean Ones, Lords of Change and Keepers of Secrets?

    • @LordForwind

    More accurate I think to say that Khorne hates sorcery. Magic is basically controlled and channeled Chaos and those who are devoted enough to Khorne have abilities that can only be described as supernatural. Either Khorne is a hypocrite or he's ignorant of that. The effects of high winds of magic reflect this pretty accurately I think.

    • @LordForwind
      @LordForwind  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hello. It's an ok guide. I do not see why you downplay the The Skull Throne mechanic. It's a huge boost, gift 2 free units of Bloodletters thar are invaluable. When figthting factions with ranged unit summoning a bloodletter on top of ranged is invaluable. Plus with research it becomes cheaper and more powerful, with more summons. I use it at cooldown. You also left out commandments, which at mid to late game are great boosters to your army or armies. The Destroy! commandment gives 1% Melee Attack to all armies.
    For an aggressive faction you recommend a pasive start. On first turn I first use The skull throne and then I take Skarbrand right next to red area of influence of Top Knotz army, on the road, and only after that I incorporate the hero. This way after defeating army you can also attack Agrul Migdhal and raze and summon a Blood Host, and after the I force march toward North to take Galbaraz. The same first turn I start the diplomacy game. I join the Malagor war against vampires for around 6k gold/favour. He always blows up Sunken Kernach and leaves it in ruins. Next turn i advance towards Galbaraz and in encamped stance only then I start recruiting 3 more units. Usualy a mix of Bloodletter and Marauders Dual Weapons. Right after I take Galbaraz Wurzag shows up on road to colonise Sunken Khernach. After I take Galbaraz I recruit 3 more units. Next turn I hit and destroy Wurzag because he is in Forced March stance and can't flee. Wurzag defeat trait bonus is a great bonus for Skarbrand (10% physical resistance). After that I go and finish vampires and focus on greenskins on North.
    On highest difficulties you can wait until wurzag colonise Sunken Kernach and hit him when he is weaker, and until then clear up Top knotz armies that show up around south.
    At the moment I rarely use blood hosts because of bugged hidden supply lines.
    The blood host i use it to raze to get skuls Gronti Mignol and fight some battles in north. I disband it around turn 8-10 when i start raising the 2nd army to take Floating Village and take care of southern Greenskins and Tomb King and more. the 2nd army I started it with 6 units, a mix of bloodletters and marauders dual weapons with a Herald of Khorne general and after taking Floating Village and facing other armies I recruit and grow the army on the road as bloodletting grows and I see fit.
    I use Harbinger of disaster and Clan Moors as allies as they are helpful and keep clear flanks as you rampage with 2 or 3 armies. I always colonize major city and sack/raze small settlements.
    The main rat clans (the legendary lords) are good allies in mid to late game as they take care of flanks as you cannot advance in 360 degrees radius.
    I also recommend Thorek defeat trait as great buff for your main armies. I never lost Skarbrand and I usualy fight the battles myself as I usually get half of loses I get on auto resolve.
    I rarely recruit an army and stay with it in a settlement. If I have I have to defend at some point I recruit some unit and with the local garrison I match the number of unit or go under the number of attacking army. And imediately after battle I disband so I don't have to take the money hit more that 2 or maybe 3 turns.
    I prefer to recruit Herald generals and turn them into Bloodthirster generals at level 15 because of Siege attacker.
    I also recommend use of at least 1 Cultist in every army because of replenishment boost and 3 bloodletters and 1 bloodthirster summons each, 4 free units. To increase capacity i build wherever I can the Mortal Servants chain of buildings. You can build that in minor settlements also because it goes only to tier 3.
    On Skarbrand I prefer to go blue line to get replenishment, campaigh movement and upkeep reduced bonuses and also lightning strike and Claimer of souls. Next I focus on Rage Incarnate line followed by red line to boost bloodletters and skullcrushers. Never forget to get Missile and Spell resist. Till level 50 i fill up the yellow line to boost Skarbrand. Don't put points on red line after Kill for Khone until units start reaching rank 7 experience because there are useless until then.

      In my defense, this is a guide for people learning the faction. I don't do move by move guides unless it's needed. I only dereccomend the skull throne because learning players overuse it early and then loose tech progress. Great tips though!
