Just bought my kid one of these and needed to change out a headlight. Thanks for the video and process. I had to remove the hood latch also since the last genius ran the hood latch cable through the headlight bracket lol. I removed the lower three bolts for the bumper skirt and fender well panel for easier access since I was only doing one side. Appreciated the info👍🏼
Thank you so much for this video! You gave me the confidence to give this a shot and save myself $700! Took me 2 hours but I had some wiring issues. Thanks again!!
Great video sir. I have a 2009 and I ordered mine and was worried about doing it myself. You made it very easy to understand and save people like me money, Keep up the great work.
Although my 2009 Fusion was a bit different, i.e. front bumper was all one piece, your video was nevertheless VERY useful and still applicable. Replaced both in a couple of hours. Thank you for taking the time to make this for the benefit of others like myself.
Thank you for this. I just ordered my replacements from rockauto and hadn't a clue how to do this. I just replaced my '16 fusion bulbs and needed to take the bumper off on that one too
I have this car and here in Brazil I restored this headlight by sanding higher grades up to 3000 and appkying some silicone based compound that hardens and becomes a crystal finishing that also protects from uv lights. Plastic headlights get old because of the sun and losing the protective uv cover from rain and from normal driving wear.i did however had to remove them like you did to apply a sealant to the interface between the lens and the body because it eventually dries and let's water penetrate.
@@MorphnSeaGull I did mine today. One weird thing was that I had 4 screws in my assembly instead of 3. That piece that we're talking about didn't come off at all. Of course, I didn't disconnect my parking light, I detached the clips under the light instead.
You have to apply heat to areas with adhesive. Then you need special tools to clean it up. I went to my local junk yard and got perfect condition assemblies for $35 each. It's less work than trying to take it all apart and redo it
It’s not the inside that’s the problem.. it’s the outside of the housing becoming cloudy due to the sun. And the headlights are plastic not glass. Glass headlights practically never end up oxidized like plastic ones.
Actually replacing lamp assemblies on most new cars is pretty simple.. there are plenty other things that are a pain in the ass trust me. This sh*t is easy
Mine already have condensation on cooler days after i wash the car. Solve the issue by drilling a small hole on the underside of the clear lens closest to the outside of the fender.
I'm missing a step , after removing the screw for the yellow side running light , there is still something connected , that is to the side of it facing to the front of the car that I can't see . What is it ? I have a 2008 Fusion .....
Withheld lol all you need is a Phillips, flathead, ratchet with 10mm that’s about it... or idk start working on the car and you will see what you need as you proceed working on it. it’s not that complicated
@@jessesanchez244 No daily-driver car holds its value... yeah, some maybe a little better than others, but it's much less expensive to maintain a car than to go buy a much newer one. I've been absolutely wanting to do this for a while. You've given me the confidence to pull the trigger. Ordering the headlights as we speak!
This is why I love youtube. Thank you sir so much for posting this and helping others out.
Good information but too much time on explaining why
Replaced both headlights with your instructions. Thank you for providing the size needed for the bolts. So many don't do that.

Thanks, went and snatched a clean set off a car in the junkyard on my 15min break today.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial. Took me about an hour, but you saved me quite a bit of money.
Cheers. Thank you for your consideration and comment.
Nice work! With your help, I got it done in 45 minutes (well, one side). Much appreciated!
Thanks for the comment. I'm happy to know this helped you.
You are a God-send. Thank you kind sir for uploading this video for all.
Short cuts always appreciated

Do you still have your two old headlamps?
No. I put in the garbage. Also, sold the car.

Thank you for the video. Super helpful. Mission accomplished.
Thanks Dad! My car looks much better now, much more visibility also!
Thank you. It wasn't pretty but I got it done, thanks for making this.
Great video
14:21 so this is part of the clip for the bumper, but the bolt for the headlight assembly goes through it? Is that what you're saying?
That's it. Keep it up. Like I said in the video, Don't loose it.

Is there anyway to open up old assemblies and restore inside glass then reseal them?
Yes there is a way to do that. But I am not able to do it. I would only recommend a professional.

Hi, could you please meka a video inthis Ford Fusion doing the cold start at morning? The Idle takes 2K?
Thanks.
Look for chrisfix he has a ruff idle video
I have sold the car over a year ago.
I just purchased two replacement headlamps after watching this video I want to return them it just looks like a pain in the ass
It's not a simple job, takes some time. Don't give up! If you need news headlight assembly's, replace them. You will love the job and look when done.
Actually replacing lamp assemblies on most new cars is pretty simple.. there are plenty other things that are a pain in the ass trust me. This sh*t is easy
Do a square pick suppose to be in front of the bulb?
How do the replacement lights look now that you have had them installed for some time now?
I made a video to show how to replace the light bulbs.
What is the black hood gprtoector you have on your car
What brand headlight assemblies did you buy and how did they hold up?
I ordered them from Amazon. They held up good. The car is no longer on the rd.
Get to the point. We don't care about the box. An you showed us how to break parts. Thanks you so much.
Good Video
Where did you buy them ? I went to the AutoZone over 400.00 for the set
I ordered them from American Amazon.
Will this solve water/condensation on inside lens problem as well?
Mine already have condensation on cooler days after i wash the car. Solve the issue by drilling a small hole on the underside of the clear lens closest to the outside of the fender.
Let’s see.. replacing the leaking light for a non leaking light. Will the problem be fixed.. hmmm... Lol
Could you spend another hour talking about the push pins?
Lol

Awesome
Very helpful thank you sir
My headlight doesn't go off unless I disconnect the battery
You must have a fault in the wiring. Try to take out and unplug the light switch to see if that"s your issue.
That took way longer then it should have / thought (nearly every job I do)
Thanks, also a tool list in description would help.

@@billygoat008 so what's your point, troll.
Nice video, are you fascinated with the plastic clip things or something?
Thanks. LOL
All joking aside the video was very helpful
Mine Headlights are clear but one is getting water in it.
Drill a small hole on the outside bottom of the light, When driving, it will suck the water out and help keep it clear.
I usually buy Genuine Ford or Motorcraft, I hate hiccups. I've had some major hiccups before... car looks good though.
Adjuster uses a 6mm allen wrench or small phillips
Phillips driver
Whre can i buy of clips. From top bumper
You can by the clips from any auto parts store. IE: NAPA, Parts Source etc.
@@MorphnSeaGull thank you
Funny stuff. All he needed to do is hit the old ones with med to light cutting compound and ceramic them. But if replacing is what ya want ...
Yep, must have plenty of money to throw at car that doesn't hold it's value. Good for you 👍

Not for an ‘08 Milan.
Come on already, I thought you were going to show how to put the he headlights on
eBay, bud! $162.99 Americans! & they're black base, pimped.
Stupid Ford engineering you have to do all that work just to change the fucking headlight. 😂
Send me your old ones haha
Threw them away.
@@MorphnSeaGull dang haha I just put LEDs in my 06 sel
Not going to go past like he didn’t break that plastic clip holder from that right headlight and tried to hide it.....either that or it came damaged
I realize after this upload that the clip was in fact broken off. It was broken off in the packaging.
Too much talking about other things get on with the job
Wtf like he’s working for you 😂
You sure include a lot of meaningless info.
Just get to the action stop talking
Ya, I know. It can be a pain. I do that lost of the time now.
