No. They never travel with the entire band. It costs a lot of money to transport over 300 people and instruments from Jackson, Mississippi to Miami. Well over $200K. They have a travel band that works within their budget.
FAMU music just don't have no soul to it a grove to it....the arrangements are to square for me sound like they have timing issues in alot of their arrangements.....songs being played to fast or to slow and then got all these instruments and you can barely hear them
Their arrangements are very vanilla. But you can’t convince them that it’s a big issue, especially now that they’re in the SWAC. At least they didn’t play any marches this time. That’s an improvement. The next hurdle is teaching them to play with some funk and soul.
FAMU’s arrangements were suspect, along with the execution. The arrangements had any non-beginner level rhythms from the original song cut out, or when the rhythms were actually left in the band fumbled through them
JSU sounds Like JSU, Humping, Barking and Blasting as Always. FAMU is Always consistent with the Tradition of Musicality, Balance, Versatile Quality Control Musicianship. Weather It Be, Dance Routine, Field Drills (no Squares and Circles and Step 2s), Fanfares, Ballets, Warmups, You'll hear all the color of instruments backed up by warm brass section. I'll take that over everything. Now Imagine If They Stood Up And Played 5th Quarter. They sound good sitting down. They seems to never have to hump to prove a point. Both bands were good. Welcome to the SWAC FAMU. As the Islay Brothers say, Don't Change 🐍🐍🐍
Acoustics in this stadium are awful it did neither band Justice. I do have jsu as a winner here but it’s slight. If famu hadve played with more colorful and layered arrangements they would’ve won this. JSU had balance and tempo issues but book and dynamics was better for them.
I can understand the viewpoint. I think it's really a matter of our better execution vs. their more engaging book. I think the winner really depends on how you feel about round 3, I like us the first two and JSU got the last two imo
What is this lingering statement of "Converting", folk we been playing the WACK conference for over 50ty years and been doing the what we do... Yall folk need to catch up, and stop playing hole, half, and quarter notes as loud as you can, for as long as you can, and out of tune as you can... "WACK CONFRENCE" Simple 2 step drills, sound distorted and lost of volume on your drills, P-Valley girl routines, and nothing on the dance routine. Just blow loud...
And the issue is y’all continue to run with this narrative as if rap tunes are the only thing SWAC bands play. Theme songs, marches and ballads are all in the book of most SWAC bands. Leave that 🦝 mentality on that 7th hill. 🫡
JSU + SU = LOUD, LOUD & LOUD Zero Balance, Blend & Tone Quality But I enjoy seeing their instruments go up & down while they're blowing their lungs out....the WHACK Conference is a trip, lol 😆 FAMU keeps the Main Thing the Main Thing....The Halftime Show!!!! Both bands are great but honestly, FAMU has better overall balance and tone.
Rattlers ROUND 2 JUST OFF OF SONG SELECTION ALONE
FAMU’s arrangements were suspect, along with the execution. The arrangements had any non-beginner level rhythms from the original song cut out, or when the rhythms were actually left in the band fumbled through them
Jsu round 1
🎉🎉🎉Round 3 rattlers
JSU whooped famu....stop the excuses plz
I love JSU but FAMU gonna slide every damn time
JSU sounds Like JSU, Humping, Barking and Blasting as Always.
You could’ve licked fam’s balls without hating on JSU.
Famu was some mid
What’s wrong with humping and BARKING? RQQ! 🐾🦴
I think the winner really depends on how you feel about round 3, I like us the first two and JSU got the last two imo
fam just not built for the swac
Jsu 14 piccolos sounding louder than famus 25 is crazy.
"Louder". FAMU prefers to play with quality.
Not really... JSU just wants to be louder. Not in tune, not refined, not superior.
Only when they play by themselves, FAMU piccolos blend with the whole band.
Super cap
What quality did famu piccolos play with being out of tune ?
Famu is boring compared to JSU and SU. Facts
JSU sounds like high school level ass compared to Famu. Facts.
This is a horrible angle to really make a judgment. From the sides of both bands with an echo.
What is this lingering statement of "Converting", folk we been playing the WACK conference for over 50ty years and been doing the what we do...
Yall folk need to catch up, and stop playing hole, half, and quarter notes as loud as you can, for as long as you can, and out of tune as you can...
"WACK CONFRENCE"
Simple 2 step drills, sound distorted and lost of volume on your drills, P-Valley girl routines, and nothing on the dance routine.
Just blow loud...
you think "you speak so well" is a compliment don't you?
#facts....😂😂😂😂
And the issue is y’all continue to run with this narrative as if rap tunes are the only thing SWAC bands play. Theme songs, marches and ballads are all in the book of most SWAC bands. Leave that 🦝 mentality on that 7th hill. 🫡
Get out of here with that BS. Just mad JSU came to FL with half the size of FAMU and was just as loud.
JSU + SU = LOUD, LOUD & LOUD
Zero Balance, Blend & Tone Quality
But I enjoy seeing their instruments go up & down while they're blowing their lungs out....the WHACK Conference is a trip, lol 😆
FAMU keeps the Main Thing the Main Thing....The Halftime Show!!!!
WHACK keep your 5th Qtr Foolishness & Simple 2 - Step Drills
💚🧡💚🧡💚🧡💚
It hurts me to say this, but JSU slept on the Grass Snakes and caught a L!! 🫵🏽😂🫵🏽😂🫵🏽😂 about to be a rough start to the 2023 Season cause this weekend gone hurt JSU real good. 💙💛 #Kangz
Lay off the drugs
You’re an SU fan… this means nothing coming from you
YO Ma caught an L
If jsu took a L to famu then su took an L to pv txsu and jsu
Im sorry but this boring
If the stadium was full, tge sounds would be incredible. There needs to be better job promoting this amazing event.
Famu is not ready to be in the swac.
We in the Swac so get over it 🤷🏾♂️
@@Socaman84😂the band has nothing to do with why they were switched over
@@Wats4DINNER right??
@@Wats4DINNER and your point 🤔 we still in the Swac 🐍🤷🏾♂️
@@Socaman84 I was making a point lol I’m on your side
Giving this one to Famu, executed arrangements damn near perfect and song selection was on point good blend of old and new
Same!
Definitely not ! As much as I hate JSU famu did not win...
Fiend Famu>SU
