Whitewater River Personal First Descent (PFD)

(12/30/2024) Whitewater River Personal First Descent (PFD). This is the 4th Jocassee run that I’ve ever done, all of which I’ve done for the very first time in 2024.
Regarding the run itself, it was a sick .Way different compared to the other Jocassee Runs. More of the rapids on the Whitewater were big drops and then there’s the Mini Gorge. Nowhere else in the SE have I seen such a dramatic, walled in and cliffed out stretch of river. The Mini Gorge also culminates into the big drop featured in the cover photo. We actually walked the mini gorge and put in right above the big waterfall because the water level was low (5” for reference). As the level drops, a dangerous feature in one of the Mini Gorge drops becomes more exposed. Basically one of the drops lands in a pothole with a rock bridge right in front of the vail. Not a place to let the bow drop. Overall though, I had a blast and can’t wait to do this section again. Soooooo good!!!
