Nice new tackle! Replace the drag discs with carbontex, I love carbontex discs lol!It take some time to get used to tournament style fishing and make the right decisions in competition. Well, looks like the flatheads are missing you lol. Hope you catch a giant Spencer, you’re the man! 😊
I totally get that. I like trying new things and this is one of those things. I'm gonna give it some time to see if I really enjoy it or not. I appreciate the support especially.
Here in the Midwest we got a foot of snow and 45 mile an hour winds. Id rather be doing what you’re doing. Love what you do and thanks for sharing your experience.♥️👍🏼🙏
My dad sent me a bunch of pictures. The amount of snow Des Moines got was ridiculous. I'm pretty fortunate on that front. I'm glad you enjoy the videos man!
Here's how an old man does it. Once I've cast out I click in my reels, lightly snug up my lines then put my reels back in free spool BUT I tighten up the spool tension pretty snug. This is enough to cause a circle hook to set as a fish runs off with the bait/hook but doesn't cause the more bite shy type of flatheads you encounter at times to drop the bait from resistance. When I hear the clicker start going I simply walk up & filp the reel into spool lock and start fighting the fish. If you have an old knuckle buster like a Pfluger Rocket 1375 you can simply pick it up and start fighting since the handles don't disengage during free spool with those types. I use sinker slides to further lessen the tension a flathead feels when he takes the bait. One more thing I've run Eagle Claw L197 circle sea hooks my whole catfishing life from 3/0 to 7/0 and they've never let me down, no they're not fancy & Walmart carries them but they just work without the high price tag. Anyway just my suggestion from spending a little time chasing big fish
I'll take all the help I can get. I appreciate you taking the time to share that. I'll play around with some of that and see how it treats me. Thank you.
The best part was not catching but fishing. Proud you show it like it is. Hard to be empty handed but it's all a journey. Appreciated going along. Goodness it looked scary out there. Stay safe

The new boat looks like it’s working great! Do you use more gas in the new boat? I love all the videos and have changed up how I fish for flatheads because of your videos and ended up catching my pb last year. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks man. It's way more fuel efficient than my last boat, but its faster so I ended up driving it more and burning more gas haha. That's awesome man! hope you catch an even bigger one this year.
