That's the CD-i for ya. In a stroke of divine luck Philips managed to get the rights to use Mario and Zelda characters in games, and they made Hotel Mario for Mario, and Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon for Zelda. They were all shit, but the cutscenes are vintage memes.

People like to hate on CGI Zelda cutscenes, but... they do things that actual Nintendo Zeldas will never do. Have actual kings. Use words like "Die" or "Kill", have Link at least try to appear heterosexual, use actual folkloric elements like fairies, elves, medieval stuff "unironically" (Link for example started out as an actual 'elf' with upwards, pricked ears intead of the goblinoid sidways yoda ears Japan has gotten into for some reason.
