I never imagined that there could be so much advancement in technology where one could walk on a fractured foot immediately or remove the cast and take a shower. But here is a video on my removable cast that I have to wear for 3 months for recovery from my fracture. This is by a company called VACOpedes which is Germany based. You can check it online and help anyone out in this situation.

I am a senior orthopedic surgeon of more than 40 yrs experience. I want to clarify certain things to you and your viewers. Though you made a nice video but certain points to note are->. (1) it is not a very latest technology for India. I have used it for past more than 15 years. (2) this type of boot can not be used for all situations. (3) Walking is possible with that synthetic fibre-cast also. Some patients do not like cast hence they prefer removable boot which is costlier but at the same time has its limited indications and compliance issues. Only advantage is that you can remove it for taking bath (4) Casting still remains the standard treatment modality for most patients. Even though you can not remove it as per your will. But there are materials to be used inside cast which allows bathing even with the cast on. Also casting ensures immobilization which is not there in case of poor compliance patients (all patients are not same) (5) The swelling and bluish discoloration seen on top of your forefoot is result of fracture and dependent position while travelling. This would have occurred even with the boot if applied to begin with. The swelling and discoloration goes off with time anyway.

Hope you will be doing good. I too have 2nd 3rd and 4th metatarsal fracture at the base. It's my 18th day. How are you feeling. I can see its your 10th month. I have cast on my foot. Do not misguide.This is pneumatic splint which is not at all advisable immediately after fracture.
If applied immediately then patient have to use support or walker(as seen your video of some celebrity)
This is used 3 weeks after fracture or in sprain
