So how is it when you come to Mtl it takes 3 hours, but it takes me 7 hrs to get to NYC?? Also, Saguenay is 5 hours FROM Mtl. Soooo 12 hrs from NYC. But. Whatever right? GUP Tech is NOT from Mtl, Quebec province includes other cities than Montreal you know? or you don't. Also, where's the Engl you need and didn't know it?

Dude i was looking at their pedals and they have a grindR pedal with a switch that switches between "grind and 33" and has bass and treble controls like the fortin saw. basically its the fortin saw and 33 combined into one pedal. you have to review it!!!

Have you tried using both? One around peds in front of the amp and then one in the loop? Use the Roach to split to both gates..
Then you can have control at your pedal board for tightness, and a super quiet loop, leaving thhe gate for the loop on top of the amp...

hey man, ive got a ns-2, decimater, behringer ns300 & most recently bought a rowin gate, lil mini pedal 1 knob & a hard/soft mini toggle that on soft kinda fades out but on hard cuts it off immediately. so ive A/B'd them & both the ns-2 & the (eeew) behringer both have a tone suk & r terrible imho but, the decimater & the rowin sound great, no difference in tone at all. my decimater was $130 & the rowin (after tax & ship'n) was $73! used like $45 & its a great pedal with TRUE BYPASS, i pull the power & my signal continues & the decimater DOES NOT sooo, this was the very 1st time that sumthin i paid a little 4 compared to a 'high end" product i own. i may sell off the others (DFNTLY boss & behringer) & buy another rowin as backup, should check it out you will be pleasantly suprised! cool vids by the way, im 45 & sorta similar situation except the divorce cost me ALOT of gear! anyways leep up the vids man entertaining & informative.

The Rowin works great as long as you're directly running your guitar through it. It's basically the same as the Mooer Noise Killer and you can find them under different names from Donner, Neewer, etc.
But if you want to gate a noisy OD pedal it's over and I couldn't run it in the loop at all. You can't get it to close fast without cutting sustain pretty hard. But for what it is and because it's cheap it's still a great little pedal!

    Louis, awesome video as always!
I have a question for you, since i am still somewhat of a gear newbie, i have seen people online making distinctions between Noise Gates and Noise Reducers, supposedly Noise Gates function by cutting off the signal while Noise Reducer's are controlling the threshold of certain frequencies passing through. So, since you compared the GUP to the ISP, is this a correct comparison? i was under the impression that the ISP is a Noise Reducer (being the successor of the original Rocktron Hush pedal) and not technically a gate. But maybe i'm just an idiot who has no idea what he's talking about, i'm still trying to make sense of different things that i read online, which you know is not always the most credible source. LOL

    • @louistorres

The Guul is a clone of the Zuul. The S.U.N. is actually an entirely newly designed noise gate that's based on the updated T.H.A.T. chip. It's completely different than the Guul but don't forget that the Zuul is a clone of the noise gate that's in the Marshall JCM 800KK. Because you can't sue for electronic designs, Marshall couldn't sue anyone. Likewise, that's why Larry couldn't do anything regarding his borrowed circuit design that's found in the old Randall Satan and Thrasher. I'm in New York, when someone says Quebec, I hear Montreal. @@louistorres Yeah I'm curious to see what's in the SUN, I believe what he have done is simply build is own retrofit base on the PedalPCB guys but still using the same design at least as the source, cause you know the That4301 is discontinued but PedalPCB have done a replacement (retrofit pcb) using 2 opamps and the That4305, which basically mimic exactly what the4301 was doing, so it ain't new at all. I'm looking in building something similar or at least experiment with it. I don't know the couple at Gup (the guy make pedal and the girl make the design on the pedal), funny that they are actually from the same town then me, I was from Jonquiere which is 25 minutes from their home. Anyway you are right for most American, if you actually know that north of the US there is an other country call Canada and in Canada there is provinces, one of which is Quebec, which happen to be French speaking in the majority, then Montreal seem to be all of it. MTL is the main city in the south of the province (25% of the total population) and it's multi-cultural so people speak as much English then French, (English is more the international language).
