just did this exact repair this past weekend... searching the internet I found that the right front burner uses a different ignitor than the other four... seems the ignitor head stands up longer than the others... I used an ignitor from the back left and simply repositioned the ignitor head upwards as a temporary fix since we use the right front burner more often than the rear one... a bit surprised that no other repair video mentions this aspect of the right front burner ignitor replacement... the screw for the ignitor did break so it was necessary to drill it out and rethread the screw hole... THAT! was a PITA!... but I was a winner that day, LOL!... but when looking for the parts the following week, could not find mention of the specific longer ignitor on all of the parts web sites... I guess anyone could do what I did and extend the ceramic ignitor a bit to stand out a bit further from the bracket... but of course it must be done carefully so as not to crack it... just a bit puzzling why no one is mentioning this aspect of the repair

Why Bosch places the face-plate screws open to spillage and rusting is beyond engineering comprehension. However, your crazy glue trick works like a charm. Thank You!

      You are so right.
You might need to re-apply the ceramic paint after awhile👍

I am going to try that super glue trick and see if that works. All screws are rusted too badly so super glue is only option. Stove is good but this issue makes me never buy ever again.

Wish I ur video sooner before performing fail surgery on my bosch stove. Those cheap corroding screws are an expensive nuisance.

I found my surface ignitor cracks and came across your video, super helpful. Do you know where to buy the heat-proof ceramic paint, shown in your vid? Thanks

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannelWhich one did you use? Ceramic paint additive with some random oil based paint?

I need to replace the igniter. Do you know how to get to them to replace them?

      Hey Mark,
You can put your stoves model number in a Google search along with the term “surface igniter”
You’ll see a few stores that sell them including Amazon.

Finally a video that gets the problem and the solution. Jenn-Air obviously is sourced fromBosch. Its the exact same and quite unique. The superglue did the trick. Thank you!
