Didn't really expect an 8 on this channel. My ERG journey started with an RG7321, then a Damien Elite 8. My main 8 now is a Kiesel DC800, but I still tend to play 6 and 7 more. Nice to see some solid options on the market. When I ordered my Damien, the only other really affordable option was Agile. Seeing what's on the market now, I just keep going back to what we've all said repeatedly: What a glorious time to be a musician, with so much cool gear at such mad price points!
Wow! Thank you so much for this! Demo of 8 string headless guitar. Gosh thanks! Thanks Mel for this. Look forward to checking out more videos wants to be very very versatile indeed
Did a quick tour on the website, there is there sumthing for everyone, very interesting, and these and the other models I have perused are some of the best thought out headless guitars I've ever saw, thanks Sir Leon 🤟
Thanks Leon. Great clean sounds/playing there, not what one expects with these guitars. So you still have the Dullahan? I was interested but they discontinued it pretty quickly.
While not for me (6 strings is almost more than I can handle), the tone of that thing impressed me. But what really got me was the clean sound. What you played there got the inspiration juices going. Good stuff and looks like a nice instrument for that price.
Recently transitioned from a Schecter Hellraiser C-8FR in Black, to a Solar V1.8C in Carbon Black Matt. The Floyd Rose trem was a bit impractical on the mighty 8 string. Neither of them are multi-scale, so the string tension is up there. I like the conventional feel and snappy dynamics. Both instruments are high-quality, but I’m a Flying V guy, so… not much on the market except the Solar (hint/suggestion). Running through the 5150 Block Letter. About to review the ISP Theta pre-amp, and Rocktron Tone Booster pedal. Cheers~
that looks great for crazy money. even if you had the frets dressed and slapped some emg's in there, you'd still be up. i bought a legator 8 a while back and it cost three times as much as this and the artist has better tuning saddles (with thrust bearings? wow!) and a better headstock assembly that hides the string ends. how are the fret ends, ok?
i'm surprised by how good they sound. i got a pair of the 808x and they were super easy to install. very nice clean, which is how i use them most of the time. very dynamic and of course sound great with gain. if you're keeping that guitar, they would be a great upgrade.
i ordered one of these a few years ago and it was the straight up worse guitar ive ever bought. i sent it back immediately. the action was 4mm high with no way to lower it. nut wasn't even cut before being installed and the tuners didn't even work. i dont know if i got the worse example of qc but man i hope they are better now. it was the natural wood one btw
The cheapest is gonna be from NK headless. Its a gamble though since it's made in a tiny Chinese province where you buy off aliexpress lol. Some TH-camrs like em, some don't due to inconsistency. Scroll around and find out. Usually are $500. If you rather not deal with that, the only other option I'm aware of is looking for a used Legator. Not much more money and at least it's more than decent unlike NK.
Do you know the band Haken? It's the most approachable 8 string guitar music i've encountered. Animals as leaders and Meshuggah are awesome but not for everybody. Haken is absolutely phenomenal.
@@LeonTodd Charlie and Richard are absolutely phenomenal... but man, seeing this people live is incredible. 6 piece band, 1 lead singer, 5 backing vocals singers, 6 incredible musicians, astonishing arrangements with leitmotivs and all the tones... haven't seen anything like that live, at this level, ever. Just incredible.
I bought one of these around a year ago and the quality was bloody awful! Wait until you have to restring it and all the grub screws break under tension or fall out and won’t go back in, mine ended up in the bin. I did chance a baritone Artist have just released though and that was very good for $300.
That "filth" section was rather unpleasant. I do believe people play 8 strings like that though. I couldn't possibly play with all that clank and no bass.

Can you guess what a 7 string guitar said to an 8 string guitar? It 8 9 alive! Anyways, stooky video as usual and imagine a Ragdoll recording using the 8 string guitar?
that is such an ibanez model name i didnt even realize it isnt an ibanez
Hahaha exactly
Im a six string player, but Im having a custom Wolfgang 8string made to get into it... looking forward to the learning curve! 😂
Wolfie 8 - awesome!!

What a time to be alive making guitar noises!
That beginning little jam was fuckin sick dude
Cheers man! That was seriously fun to put together

Noice demo mate!
Artist sell some great stuff. I bought a wireless system for about $60 from memory. 4hrs run time and no noticeable latency.
is there a way to get it to mexico?... or its for australia only?

I do still have the Dullahan, similarly bummed it got discontinued. Great little guitar
some of the edits around the 1min mark felt very kmac. I dig the heavy tones and playing here.
Hahaha yeah I was going for peak djent TH-cam there
Looks like a cross between a Standberg and an Ibanez. Not looking for an 8 string but that price is pretty great.
For a second I was like "Shi~ Rusty Cooley shredding on 8string multiscale guitar"
Sorry, you're just look like brothers. Great review!
Now if only I had those chops!

Wow. so surprised to see you play a 8-strings guitar, however it seems you enjoyed it ! Good on you !
I did!
Had one it was pretty cool but I had three shipped all with cracked necks and broken hardware so I just gave up and got an Ibanez rg8ms

I'd love to try one of the Evertune Solars at some point
Great....can u review more Artist stuff Leon??
Hopefully soon. They're doing great stuff.

Leon on an 8 strang? Oh yeah.
It's got that ch0nky thang

Fret ends on this one are pretty tidy. Ooooh emg 8's would be fun...

dang, I wish they had a headless 7! any recommendations for a decently or similarly priced headless 7?
Man i really hope they bring one out - not too sure if there's anything in this price range?

Thank God you didn’t call it “budget”… I’d hate for the entire internet to lose its f%#*ing mind. 😂
Hey here's half a day of my life condensed into a 10 minute video that you can watch for free, let's argue about semantics 🤣

every time they restock my car dies lol.... im never gonna get one... if you ever plan on selling it lmk man I'll buy the thing

I see they do a 6 and an 8 but not a 7. 🤷♂️

terrible joke not even how it goes
I would be all over the six-string variant, were it not for the 43mm nut.
anything over 6 strings is pointless and a gimmick imho. But each to his/her own I guess.
I prefer 12
So harp is out of the question then.
Several million Djent fans disagree.
Insert sad 8 string Carbon Fibre Banjo…
