I do not have Remote - WSL; it is just WSL. I downloaded WSL but now I get another error saying "No WSL distros found. New distros can be installed from the Microsoft Store."
I think I spent at least a couple of days trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I used MinGW to install a cobol extension, then tried to do it with cygwin, eventually just decided to use WSL because it had a package manager and i could just install gnuCOBOL (which had cobc). I realized that in the compilation of a cobol program, you apparently have to just add a new line because otherwise it will result in a compilation error. When I figured that out, I wasn't generating an executable file, rather a .so file, so I included the -x flag in the cobc command and tried running it with ./Test.cbl instead of ./Test.
it says Windows Subsystem for Linux not detected. The Remote WSL extension requires Windows 10 with the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature installed. how do i fix that?
thank you for the course it helps me a lot, except one issue that on my debian terminal the package gnucobol was not found but whene i replaced it with open-cobol it worked. i want just want to know if that will have any influence on de dev ??? thank you

Hello, How can I solve this issue: Command 'cobc' not found, but can be installed with: apt install gnucobol3 # version 3.1.2-5, or apt install gnucobol4 # version 4.0~early~20200606-6 I ran the above command for gnucobol4, but then I'm hit with E: Unable to locate package gnucobol4

Are you using windows 10? If not, then upgrade your OS to windows 10. WSL doesn't supported in previous versions of windows.

Cat got your tongue? The best part was when you said something. I don't know what I'm supposed to learn watching a cursor wiggle across the screen.
