I like the look of Adrians for its longer vamp making it look more elegant and easy on the eye. I've the Dr Martens Ashland ponyhair monk shoes and yes its leather is so stiff, I hardly wear them (had them since 2012). Like yourself, I'm all for comfort now. Its a real challenge finding that comfortable dress shoes! Glad you found yours!

Both brands hit for the style. Both are versatile for casual street style. GH Bass are more office casual ready especially in oxblood. However, the plastic look of genuine leather is a telltale sign of a cheap & disposable beater. If you love the loafer look especially for office work, find the model in full grain leather or suede w/ Blake or Goodyear welt they will last yrs longer than either the GS Bass or Dr. Martens, look better and save you $ in the long term. Still it’s good to have a couple of stylish beaters like these in the rotation for weekends of bad weather.

I’ve a wider and flat foot and have tried the Weejuns and they just didn’t work for me. But I got the Adrian loafers and they’ve been amazing. No issues and look really good on me 😌

Another thing to consider is that if you end up wanting to get rid of your loafers (for whatever reason), I feel the Dr. Martens will potentially have better resale value.

You could go a half size down if you don’t have an issue with it being a little tight at the front.

Although I love chunky loafers, I think my first loafer should be a more classic loafer since it has been around longer. I think my favorite chunky loafer would be from blackstock and Weber since the quality seems to be higher and are resolable.

I don’t know where to find the doc marten Adrian loafers, including the Made in England Pair’s. They seem to be sold out everywhere I look especially in big sizes. I really like the doc marten shape being further back

I went down a size in the Adrian’s and they were way too small but my regular size was way too big! I’m a half size but docs don’t make half sizes so maybe I’ll go with the GH Bass’ still browsing!

yo bro idk if you still reply to comments after so long but basically ima need some guidance. i think im a 7.5 because size 8 nikes (dunks, af1) fit me a little loose. my feet is pretty narrow so i dont wear those except for nike blazers which fit me a lot better of course, them being skinnier shoes but still a tiny loose. i say that to ask if you think i should get a size 7 in adrians, or go all the way down to 6, which sounds weird to me but everyone has said the sizing is weird so it may be understandable

Im natrually a size 10.5-11 and i jsut got my adrian loafers from online today in a 10 and they still a bit big. They are wearable but not as tight as some people might like them.

ive never morn dr martens but ever since ive been warned that certain thick soles could effect the heaviness of how you walk and can give blisters I've avoided them for the most part

Not very thick, no, Break in was immediate for the bass weejun and I have not done extensive research into rose anvil

I'm loyal to docs but the adrian sizing is whack. I'm a mens US 10.5 and the UK 10 was far too big (foot kept slipping out) while the UK 9 made my big toe curl down.
The G.H. Bass loafers are better imo but their sizing is ridiculous. I initially ordered my size then had to return it. I then went a whole size down and it was still too big!
