    Owned a 300L for about 2 years,bought new, 12000km on it now ,plenty off road.I have 2 big bore dirt bikes and good experience.
    FACTS -The CRF can do a heck of a lot very well including touring /off road at a steady pace.TRiding shown here is great and do-able IF you have good experience.
    Suspension crap .I upgraded mine to fully adjustable cartridges and a new rear shock,Also a custom made skid plate(essential) bars risers delete whale tail,ABS,hand protectors,tyres etc.
    It is super reliable and an excellent choice for remote ventures.You CANNOT use the full power of a 690 KTM off road(unless you call gravel roads off road I dont!).
    What it CANT do is accelerate as fast or track/handle at speed anywhere near as good as an enduro bike across rough terrain or give you the "tame the wild stallion feeling"😀.They are different animals.Keep this in mind ,make some mods and you could be very happy.
    Thanks for this video Riley ,your spirt of adventure is like mine.If i lived in Canada would be happy to ride with you😀

    I got randomly recommended this video by TH-cam and it just made me envious. I've been wanting a CRF300L for a while. It just looks like a really fun bike!

      @advriley  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s so awesome this video came up recommended for you! I’d say you have great taste in bikes the 300L is super fun and can do so many things. Hopefully you can get a CRF soon 🤞🏻

    I've found that the 1st gear on the CRF300L is so nice cause it seriously will lug through ANYTHING! I have gone through some of the softest and nastiest sand I've ever been thorough, and my DRZ-400 could not make it through. Would stall every time. The CRF300L though? No problem! The thing is a damn tractor, and yet, such a nicely balanced motorcycle for all different types of riding.

    • @advriley
      @advriley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amen to that!! It’s crazy how the lil 300 just tractors 🚜 up anything! Funny you mention that because we will be doing a CRF300L vs drz400 video later this summer. The 300L just loves to rev too adding to the fun factor of the lil beast.

      @@advriley Great idea. I am looking forward to that video. I can tell you in my personal opinion the CRF300L wins overall in multiple aspects. Reliability, power delivery, and modern features such as fuel injection and a modern dash are all things that really won me over on the CRF.
      Not to mention, the CRF actually costs LESS than the DRZ, which is pretty wild.

    • @advriley
      @advriley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@2WheelPursuitoh dude you’re spot on there the lil CRF 300L really does come with so much for its affordable price compared to others like the drz.
      Hope you have an awesome day and ride safe dude 🦾🏍️

    Great video! I just subscribed. I recognize this terrain. Looks close to my neck of the woods. I’m in Strathmore. Last year I picked up a 2023 YZ125X. Been meaning to get out that way to explore. This area looks amazing to ride. I mostly go to Maclean.

      Congratulations on the new bike 🤩🥳 it’s going to take you some great places dude! Thank you so much. The Yoshi sounds incredible! Definitely worth getting the 550 kit it makes fueling right and wakes the lil 300L up pretty good. Suspension is on my list too haha

    Great riding. Best kept secret in the 2 wheel Offroad world are these CRFL and KLX 300's. If u got any offroad/single track experience like Riley here u would be blown away how capable they are > super smooth power/throttle, low center of gravity, feather light clutch. Almost unstallable in second gear uphill. They open up so much more riding instead of being limited to dedicated trail systems. They run very good being quiet, so if u dont rip anything up like a ATV or SxS does and nobody hears u, nobody gets upset if u are riding in an areas not dedicated Offroad Only. All the BLM land out west was my favorite, like this I had hundreds of miles of playgrounds like this all to myself now in northern WI I got thousands of miles of intersecting logging roads in national forests. I sold my offroad bikes, these are way more fun being able just go everywhere comfortably and legally.

      @advriley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank YOU so much. You said it perfectly! These little bikes really are able to do so much more than people think. Ride safe dude and have fun!

    I found the stock suspension so detrimental to my riding capability. The up and down pogoing from uncontrolled rebound, soft spring and constant front end dive on everything just perpetually threw me off. I'm 205lbs though. K Tech fixed it right up, instant +500xp to my riding offroad.

    • @advriley
      @advriley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re absolutely right the stock suspension makes for poor handling and sometimes scary situations when the bike sags lower than you’d expect then you bottom out hitting the skid plate or foot peg on something. I’ll have to save up so I can give a suspension upgrade a go myself!
