I used to use the Ruby, but after experiencing the grit/spin wearing out so fast on 2 paddles, I switched to the J2K. Love that paddle. It feels like a Ruby...but does everything 10% better.
I bought the Honolulu J2 (Ti not K, but they are almost the same paddle) due to a previous review you did, and have loved every minute of it. Thanks again for the amazing videos you do! And of course used your coupon code
Good stuff as always; looking forward to your content in 2025. That court you were on looked tight. Was cringing every time you took a backswing. Happy holidays!
Hahaha yeah 😂😂😂 pickleball kingdom didn’t have any regulation sized courts to rent for that sessions so I made it work. Makes me cringe too trust me lol.
Another great content Steven love the new set up, the J2K takes All Court and Paddle of the year, I like the blue colorway cause blue and orange are my favorite colors lol, heard that Pickleball Apes is releasing a Pulse X it will be their elongated with a 5.5 inch handle, Chorus just released their revamp Shapeshifter series and releasing soon from them are the Supercourt series and Echo series and have a blessed and safe Merry Christmas to you and your family
Yeah the X will definitely be a better option than the E in my opinion. Chorus is doing a ton! And I love the aesthetics of their paddles. Thanks for the comment!
I am curious to see why did you choose TKO-CX/C vs Thrive Azul: Stats from you. TKO-CX:Power 9.6x, Pop 9, Sweet 8.8x, Control 8.5 TKO-C:Power 9.3, Pop 8.8x, Sweet 9x, Control 8.7 Thrive Azul: Power 9.1, Pop 8.8x, Sweet 9.3x, Control 8.9x I have played with ALW-C that sweet spot of 9 is not as good. Sometimes just dies off on the edges. I like all except sweet spot. I love the pop and power from it. If you can recommend a paddle that would be great.
I’d either grab a J2K or wait for the 11six24 power paddles they are amazing. TKO-CX won the power category because it’s the most balanced power paddle with the “most” power 😊
It sucks! Tiny sweet spot with a huge drop-off in power. Inconsistent and can't play reliably with it. I complained to Spartus and returned it. They said nothing was wrong with it, goes figure. And charged me a 25% restocking fee.
It’s not a bad paddle just wasn’t one of the best of the year. Just gets edged out in most categories by others. Keep in mind it’s fairly slim margins. There are a ton of great paddles these days.
When it comes to the J2K, the Neonic Flare Ti, and the Vatic Saga SH, how do these compare when it comes to sweet spot size? Also, how does the spin compare on these three? Are these close in these categories?
Honestly very close between Saga and J2K. J2K has the edge in every category though but not by a large margin. Neonic Flare Ti is solid but I’d say would be my personal third option of the three.
Well J7K is elongated so a tighter sweet spot, but you get a bit more power on it. J2K will have a larger sweet spot, more spin, and more control with middle of the road power. I think the J2K is a no brainer there but it depends on what shape you personally enjoy 😊
@@doomerconsumer Invader has more pop and feels similar to J2k. There's lack of put away power and at the kitchen with the J2k (although it's a great paddle, imo the best to learn the game with) the pulse adds a slightly firmer face but once it's broken in I think it's better for control and power.
How controllable is the TKO-CX 12.7 compared to the 14.3? I’m looking for a close-to-as-powerful-while-being-more-controllable replacement for my dying Mod TA 14mm.
12.7mm is less controllable than the 14.3mm TKO-CX to help out and put it in % id say the 14.3mm has about 15-20% more control and about 15-20% less power / pop. Might be closer to 15% overall. Both of which will be easier to manage than the mod 😊
Great reviews as always Mr. Willy Wonka. Curious why no Joola Scorpeus 3S 16mm mentioned in your categories? Merry Christmas. Wonderful Work. Saludos from Panama.
It just gets edged out in all categories by marginally better paddles. I laughed at the Willy Wonka joke 😂 love it. I’ve been making chocolate now for 12 years, can’t believe how fast time flies 🥵😂
I have the J2K and the Pulsar FX R2. The J2K is too poppy for my liking but seeing the universal praise from all the TH-camrs and the very few number I’ve seen at my local club, Honolulu has some work to do in the customer outreach department.
Watch out for Neonic in 2025….with them releasing their Force Prime X their lineup has got to be close to the top of best price for ability of paddle categories of power, all court and control
I really need to try the J2K. The price is very reasonable so I might have to buy myself a Christmas present. Any chance of Honolulu having a Boxing Day sale?
i got one to upgrade my Ruby and use it all the time now...Ruby was my paddle for over a year too...more power and great control with J2k..I got a second one
Sorry for the late response! I would definitely recommend it as you can tell 😂 and of course as always these are my unbiased opinions as I have a code for every brand in the space and have no allegiance with any of them.
I didn’t love it as much as others do. I’d take a Gearbox Hyper over it personally if I was dead set on edgeless. I’m not a huge fan of edgeless as I like the stability of the edge guard and I just tend to play better with an edge guard.
Good review. I'm looking forward to seeing Selkirk's new paddles early next year. Selkirk's co-founder and Director of R&D Tom Barnes said in an interview a few days ago on the Selkirk TV channel that Selkirk is coming out with paddles with entirely new materials and manufacturing proccesses, new cores, new surface material, etc. Be interesting if they are as good as Tom says they are.
Maybe when they release their gen 3, but as of now no, they just don’t stack up in all categories as well. Durability is there for sure, but they have some clunky issues and a rigid / tight sweet spot.
Born and raised in Hawaii and found out about Honolulu Pickleball months and months ago. Got the J2K and loved it, recently bought the J2Ti which seems to have a lot more grit but is really similar to J2K as far as play. As time has gone by I’m wanting more power and to be more aggressive in play so I bought the paddletek esq 12.7 which I’m excited to receive soon. Aloha to you all 🤙🏾

I’m so glad you found a paddle you love. 😊
Love the channel man!! Shout out the Pulse line and the New 11Six24 line!! Some of my faves in our testing thus far. Cheers to 2025!!
Cheers my friend!! Happy new year!🎆🎊🎈

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words. I do this for all of you and just want to help 😊🙏
Love this!!! Great graphics, so informative!! Thanks for an awesome video:)
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Excellent choices for the winners.
Thanks, I put a lot of thought into it!
Congrats to honolulu pickleball. The J2K is definitely an amazing paddle, as well as the J2Ti and the J2KPro.
They are all really great options 😊

Steven, good year. See you next year. I’m waiting on CRBN TruBlood … suppose to put incredible bite on the ball. ;)
Hahaha I’ve had them for a couple months. Gotta keep my mouth shut sadly for now 🤐

Wish I could justify getting a Titan ball machine.

I have the ESQ, the pulse v, the invader and j2k. And others. I guess the holes in my game are my fault. LOL. I agree with the review though.
Pulse > invader > j2k for me. I also have these three paddles.

I think 2025 is going to start strong. Looking forward to the 11SIX24 Power Vapor and the CRBN Trufoam series.
Crbn trufoam feels so nice
Looking forward to those two as well since it feels like my Joola Mod TA is starting to die for the soft game
Don’t tell anyone but I’ve had the trufoams for a couple months now 👀
100% agree!
