Great list. It is no surprise that none of the big three names in pickleball are listed. Manufacturers are now making fantastic paddles at half the price.
Love the addition of best paddle at the net. Maneuverability is so valuable for me to stay in front of the ball and angle my paddle appropriately to hit where I want to on the court.
Great video. Please explain what MR stands for and what it means. Also, the #1 power paddle has a very high swing weight, which is not good for use in the kitchen.
Yes, they are for advanced players. Adds weight to punches, roll volleys and counters. Lightweight and low swing weight paddles sacrifice too much stability.
After using power paddles as my first paddles coming into pickleball, I can say the J2Ti is awesome. Since I come from a tennis and badminton background, I naturally generate a lot of power so using a more controlled/all-court paddle has helped my game so much. The J2ti keeps the balls in while ripping spin. I don’t think I’ve miss hit it yet. Coming from a Gen 3 btw.
It's great that you have given this most needed information as I have been playing for 3 years and need to upgrade my paddle but it's difficult to go with recommendations as they only tell you power or control Thank you. 9:09
Great overall list! Wish you did a best paddle for each category in each shape. Since most people are generally sticking to one or two shapes. For example it'd be nice to get some recs on Elongated control paddle if people don't like the wide body M2F.
Haven't seen any announcements for winners lately. I like it much more when you made YT posts with usernames of winners in order to resolve giveaways😢 Anyway, thanks for the great 4-paddle giveaway to close out the year. J2Ti is definitely what I'm excited about! Peace
I have both the J2K and J2Ti, your reviews for both are spot on when talking about the feel between the two, and how much value you get for both at their price ranges!
Honolulu pickleball came out of nowhere. I prefer the apes pulse v for all court but the neonic flare prime x sounds like a good alternative for me. The Valaire, Mach 24 or 16 mm lacks net put away power as I played with it for a year. The 14 mm has more that put away power, relax, backward power and serve power. The Honolulu Pickleball titanium paddle seem to lacking in power on my drives, and so I returned it almost immediately. I didn’t give it much of a chance.
Super interesting. I played with the J2Ti for a good amount of time, but i just couldn't be successful with it. I just don't think i have the skills or control to use it well enough. The regular J2K just performs better for me
@@TheJonbonesjones yeah, that's what I noticed too. I had lead on it from 3 to the handle, then moved it up to 3 to the head. It felt better but I still just kept popping things up and couldn't get the spin or power that I could on the 2k. Now, I tried the invader yesterday, and it has similar problems but also has much more pop and power. I'm interested in trying it out more.
Would be tough choosing best paddles this year with so many contenders, also including Pickleball Apes Pulse, 11SIX24, etc. I'm already looking into 2025, maining the Pulse V and Gearbox Pro Ultimate Hyper but really interested in the 11SIX24 Power Vapor that drops in Feb! 😎
Currently been using the Thrive Azul for the past year and looking to try out something new but so hard to choose with so many great paddles coming out all the time!
I currently have the neonic FPX because I prefer the net game. Great pop and power with better sweet spot than the esq-c and much better price! I would love to win a J2Ti to try the hybrid shape and also want to experience the feel / control of that paddle.
Love the Bantam series,I have the ALW 12.7/TKO-C 12.7. I also have the J2k 16mm but never seemed to like that paddle. My mains are Bantam in 12.7 and the Spartus Olympus, I’ve been impressed with the Olympus.
Great idea on creating a category for best at the net. Realized lately that's what I've been leaning towards since that's where most of the points are won.
I just started playing pickleball this week and bought a Selkirk LUXX Control Air. I thought the LUXX was great until I tried my friend's J2Ti. The J2Ti just felt better in hand, better control, and it also looks a lot better than the red LUXX. Ordered the J2Ti the next day. Selkirk will just be my backup paddle now. Great video. Subbed.
Great list to choose from. Surprised the Monarch JB didn’t make the budget list. Now I’m interested in knowing more about the AISO paddle. With the top 2 overall, definitely wouldn’t mind trying either one out. Love the shape of the Prime X but always have been interested in the J2 line. I was considering the J2K before, but I went with the Spartus Apollo.
Honolulu Pickleball makes great paddles for spin and control, and at a very affordable price. Love my J2 paddle. 11 people in my PB Club bought one. Looking forward to trying the J2K and J2Ti paddles soon in 2025.
That was an awesome video, showed so many great paddles that are some of the most popular too. Now the paddles are even getting cheaper. That was a great 9 minutes.
I'm using j2k 14mm, I feel very good and easy to get used to when holding it for the first time. I plan to buy more j2ti to experience. Thank you very much for sharing more information about the 2024 paddle ❤️❤️❤️
Such an in-depth video! After taking a long break from pickleball, I feel like the paddle industry has increased tremendously in both variety and quality
Great video, would have appreciated if you had a list at the end of the paddles you compared/thought about when making this video just to get an idea of the competition and comparisons made.
Great list, there are so many great paddles that were released this year. Loving the J2Ti that I picked up over Black Friday. I would love to try the Neonic Flare Prime X after all the praise from you and Justin, it must be great.
Great list! So many to choose from. I totally missed my guess for overall best paddle to be the Invader but your picks are imminently reasonable from what I know. Thanks!
Earlier in the year you reviewed the Cortek Alpha. Was that at all in the conversation for the power category for you? I bought my J2k back at the beginning of May, the surface has given out to the point where it’s mostly smooth. Have you run in to that with yours? Is the Ti surface a bit longer lasting? Thanks again, great videos!
This has been a great year for paddles. Glad to see companies trying different things and innovating instead of ordering from a standard catalog and slapping their name on it.
Your top 2 paddles are the top 2 on my list. My son and I are working on our first 4.0 doubles medal as well. He has medaled in 4.0 singles already. He has the J2 and the J2TI should improve upon his strengths.
I definetely agree with the smaller brands giving the best bang for your buck when it comes to paddles. These 130$ paddles really compete with the 200-300$ paddles from large companies. Love the list.
@@buffalufacus Mine broke in and, well, any differences are not dramatic. In fact I really don't notice any real change other than the sound it makes when striking the ball (it is now deeper, similar to the MOD TA-15).
I've owned or played with every Neonic paddle except the revised Flare Prime X 14mm and the "titanium" 16mm. I even still own the Flare beta paddle, the Neonic Flux 14mm edgeless. All have been high quality and excellent playing for what they're advertised as.
Killer video! I'm surprised that you didn't include any 11Six24 Monarch All Court in the all-court category or the Jellybean for the budget category. Too many good paddles to choose from these days.
Great video with some amazing paddles. This has been a great year for paddles and it must have been tough choosing the best paddles with so many contenders.
Great Video!! Nice to see the crazy power paddles were not included. Played against someone today with a Mod and all did was hit the ball as hard as they could right at people, That's not Pickleball!! Great to see small brands dominating this list, tired of big brands doing whatever they please (Joola) just to make money. Thanks again keep up the great work and Merry Christmas.
I mean, Joola did with the 3S line. Still powerful paddles but more control and no core corruption from using oversized cores in the thermoforming process like the Mod TA and the delisted Gen 3 paddles.
Great video……appreciate the info…..you’re my favorite paddle reviewer and always use your judgement on paddles as law….thanks again for the great work you do….its much appreciated 👍
Louis, any stellar offering. I love how the smaller companies are making a bigger splash these days. I would love to get my nerdy little hands on that Neonic!
I'm using the j2ti right now. It's such a beast of a paddle. Considering its price point is all the more reason to love it. I put lead tapes up to add some power. Just my preference. Also, can we talk about the surface? So far, this paddle has virtually the longest lasting grit. Love j2ti!!!
Great list. It is no surprise that none of the big three names in pickleball are listed. Manufacturers are now making fantastic paddles at half the price.
I'd say Paddletek is one of the big 3
Joola, Selkirk, and ?
Gearbox, Six zero….
@@kylepickleball I wouldn’t include them because they seem to be advancing their technology
@@bocelle8341 as opposed to what? Paddletek is one of the top 3 from market share, pros sponsored, and brand awareness.
Switch to the Ti a month ago and will never go back. I've hit shots in the past 4 weeks that weren't possible for the past three years.
I’m surprised the Pickleball apes pulse series didn’t get a mention. Great paddles and great customer service!
Love the addition of best paddle at the net. Maneuverability is so valuable for me to stay in front of the ball and angle my paddle appropriately to hit where I want to on the court.
Couldnt have agreed more with this list. The J2Ti is definitely a fantastic paddle and the Volair Mach 2 Forza will be the control king for a while.
Definitely want to try that Neonic, and Ryu. And was hoping for slightly more love for your new main, the Invader! But great list!
Apes Pulse V and Invader are my two favorite, I've tried ALOT of paddles.

Anyway, thanks for the great 4-paddle giveaway to close out the year. J2Ti is definitely what I'm excited about! Peace
Yes, you can get great paddles at a reasonable price. Paddles make a difference, but 95% is still the skills that one brings to the game.
The Flare Prime X looks so slick. Great design.

Great list. I played with the Flare Prime before the X came out. It had a great feel.
Great to see these smaller companies get some love! I suppose the Ronbus Ripple didn’t make the power list due to all the controversy?
This video confirms that my J2Ti and ESQ-C 12.7 are TOP notch paddles. They play very differently, but I love them all the same!
Thanks for the list! Haven't heard of the Ryu. Neonic looks great.
Very nice video....in my opinion the best for me are the Ronbus Ripples hands down both the R1 and R2
Good list, and I do like that none of the paddles that get hotter are here, like the Joolas and the Gearbox paddles.
