I’ve been playing with my J2K for 8 months now and it still has that great spin and power as the day it was unboxed. My Joola after 3 months lost most of its spin and 6 months lost its control and power
Tried the J2k last week, I'm demoing the J2k pro & Pickleball Apes Pulse S this week & just ordered Neonic Flow Prime X...excited to feel the difference in all the paddles, compared to my "Friday" Paddle.
I owned the J2 K and also tried out the JU2ti and ended up with a Pickleball apes pulse V. The J2TI had didn’t have enough power, especially compared to the pulse V. Maybe it was a variation of the production line, but it did not have that much power and I was disappointed. The J2K had a lot more power than the J2TI but I didn’t feel like I could keep it on my paddle long enough at the kitchen for heavy top spin rolls compared to what I have been using which was a Mach2Forza .The Pickleball apes pulse V however has power pop control lots of dwell time. Lots of spin and Great feel no complaints. I’m not even looking for looking at future paddle reviews anymore. It’s impressed me that much.
Just very different. One is a wide body, so much more plush and all court leaning control ish with good pop. And one is kevlar and rigid and a hybrid shape with more power than the All Court. So it would be up to you! I would personally grab a base 16mm J2K.
How does the J2k compare to the Paddle Tek Bantam TKO 12.7? I am currently using that (added weight on the sides to help with the sweet spot), and I do like it quite a bit…
Definitely more control and less power / pop in comparison to the 12.7 for sure. If you find you’re needing more control and a much larger sweet spot I’d snag a J2K and have it as a solid paddle to rotate with!
Nano tech has gotten substantially more spin than the high end carbon fiber, Kevlar, and titanium weave paddles I’ve owned. Proton really did something crazy with the series 1
Do you play stock or taped? Try adding lead/tungsten to the throat. It added a ton of stability to my paddle and i didn't add tape anywhere else (I used tungsten).
I’ve been using mine for around 8 months and I haven’t felt a need to replace it yet 😂 saying that out loud I’m realizing I probably should soon though haha. But keep in mind I’m always rotating paddles for reviews. So my 8 months might be someone else’s 4 months.
@@WhitePillMan have weights on the throat and it helps! Thank you. Main prob is backhand counter that just flies out ,ore noticeable now it’s colder. Need to control better and roll more topspin or something.
@@LSWong-wb7ut oh you said it’s colder. Could explain it entirely and not have to do with the paddle. I play where it’s hot year round. Get a case for it and maybe put a warm pack in it right before you play haha. I think it’s just your environment shift that’s causing it in the paddle.
Well it’s being applied to the surface so it should in theory be the same for all materials and should wear down the same as well as it’s on top of the surface 😊
@ I’ve played Selkirk Power Air Invikta and it’s perfect for drive shots but I want to have some aggresive plays in NVZ. Do u have any recommendations?
Wanted to ask, why Hybrid shape over Standard Shape for your top 2 paddles this year? Why not the Ronbus R2 Ripple 14mm, Pickleball Apes Pulse V 16mm or the Joola Scorpeus 3S 16mm? Would greatly appreciate your expert take Mr. Willy Wonka Sir. Saludos from Panama.
Hahaha love this. I do happen to live in a chocolate factory (not a joke). And for me it really just comes down to what works. And the J2K and J2Ti just work so well for my game. Outside of those two I do tend to lean more into standard / wide body paddles. But the sweet spot and the overall organic feel just suits my game really well. Not to mention the control and the spin of course.
Not trying to be "that" guy, but just want to point out that titanium isn't a precious metal. It is expensive to make the alloys, but is abundant. Unlike gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc (precious metals) Just a little trip to nerd town, as Justin would say. ;)
😂😂 fair enough! Thank you for the clarification. Just kinda came out to help describe the difference between the actual metal and what is being utilized here. But thank you! 🙏
I think the best video would be about durability. Doing spin tests on paddles 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after use. Take your friends paddles for testings when they get new paddles
They all have an epoxy coating that actually provides the grit for spin. So I would think the underlying surface has little to no effect on the durability of the spin level.
Both the peel ply and the surface material impact the durability, but yes the epoxy coating does wear down, and then it becomes more about how much dwell time and what the surface beneath can do to maintain spin. They are all fairly relative, but raw carbon fiber seems to edge the others out in durability.
Overall I enjoy your reviews and the effort you put into them, but you're starting to sound like a Honolulu PB homie 😉. I've tried the J2K (and the Six Zero Ruby, too heavy). The J2K is a good paddle but certainly not mind blowing even compared to older carbon fiber paddles like the Six Zero DBD and Vatic Pro Flash. I bought the original CRBN eye protection glasses based upon your review and using your code a few months back. They are excellent.
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you’re enjoying the reviews. I really try not to be too biased of course. I just get comments all the time about the Honolulu series of paddles and want to address those questions in subsequent videos. They have a ton of hype around them so I want to make sure I address everything I can. Sorry it’s coming off that way!
All good. I see from your bio that you were a high level golfer. It's amazing how quickly PB paddles have become like golf clubs. Lots of marketing and hype pushing the next big thing. Hopefully PB paddles don't become ridiculously priced like golf clubs despite marginal advancements.
lol I couldn’t agree more. It’s wild. Makes it kinda fun though tbh. But yeah I also hope the same. If the regulatory companies make the barrier to entry too high for the smaller companies we might see less competition and therefore less driving down of pricing due to competition which would be a bummer.. we shall see

It's great to hear it's holding up so well! That's definitely what my experience has been aswell!
Nice! Thanks dude

J2Ti owner. I finally found the paddle that really works with my game. Volair Mach1 Forza...too poppy, Volair Mach1...better for me. J2Ti...perfect.
Love this I totally agree :)
How would you compare the J2K pro paddle and the 11624 Monarch all Court

NanoTac is really solid. Just waiting to see if they regulate it at all before doing a full dedicated review or highlighting it here etc 😊
Have u tried the Invader ? Isit similar to the j2ti?
I’ve been playing with it quite a bit lately! Yeah I’d say it’s pretty similar in feel. I’m going to do some objective metrics here very soon.
@@stspickleballhiii. what if invader vs pulse 🐸

What material "accepts" the epoxy/peel ply best when it comes to spin.
Well it’s being applied to the surface so it should in theory be the same for all materials and should wear down the same as well as it’s on top of the surface 😊
Waiting for my J2Ti~ still finding out my style of play, hopefully I can settle in nicely.
I hope you love it! It’s a great paddle.
What would you recommend the J2K or the J2TI for a former tennis player, I'm good at serving and driving but still bad at dinking and reset?
Either is great. I would choose J2Ti, a little better control for dinks and resets.
@ I’ve played Selkirk Power Air Invikta and it’s perfect for drive shots but I want to have some aggresive plays in NVZ. Do u have any recommendations?
This is there my mind went too, but then he said he wanted some aggression as the NVZ so J2K is likely the play
how does the j2Ti compare to the vatic pro prism flash
More power and a larger sweet spot 😊 also more spin for sure
@@stspickleball I have them both and I echo your sentiments. I'll add that the J2Ti feels a bit more muted off the face. Both great paddles!
I thank you for the video, I purchased a J2TI and really like it.
I'm glad you like it! I think it's a great choice.

J2K vs Vatic Pro Prism V7… which one to pick please?
J2K all day. V7 is worse than flash for me tbh

I’d go 16 😊

Great video. Are you going to discuss companies with Black Friday discounts?
I am indeed! Working on it now!
J2ti durability vs? Aspect was missed in video
Thank you
Sorry can you clarify?
If I understand correctly, I was going to ask the same thing. How does titanium durability stack up to the other materials?
That's it. He said he would talk about it in the video then forgot to @@PollockWSeth
@@stspickleballhow does the surface of the j2ti hold up? Thank you
Ahhh gotcha gotcha. Sorry I must have forgot! It’s very solid to be honest. I’ve been using mine now for a while and it’s held up really well.
I have them both and they’re great paddles. Honolulu is on a roll!
They really are indeed!

Love Kevlar, but I hope they improve on durability.
Don't they last just as long as raw carbon fiber?

It's isn't precious but it shouldn't be used in paddle.. Lab 007 is a proof of that
